I'd love more information on the Mono vs Stereo recording if you wouldn't mind. And thanks for the information about the DJI Mic 2. I just bought the 1 mic kit with a charge box because I already had 1 from the Osmo Creater Kit. I'm curious if you can use two mics with a cell phone via bluetooth - I doubt it, but it would be amazing if possible.
Thank you soo much for this video!! I watched your entire video all the way through and I love how detailed and clear you are with each step! Your voice is also very calm, easy to follow, and refreshing to hear! Curious where you recorded outside by the way? It looked so cold!! Cheers and subbed!
Do you have a video on how to tranfer the 32 bit audio file from the transmitter to your mac. I send all my footage to an editor. This would be hekpful.
I have the Pocket 3 creator kit with one transmitter…I just ordered the DJI mic 2 (1 TX, 1RX). I assumed that the TX I got with the Pocket 3 will connect to the RX…is that correct…will I be able to use both with the RX? Thanks.
Thank you for a very detailed video. I have a question for you, how can I keep the TX from powering down while it’s in Bluetooth mode. I’m using my mic 2 in my motorcycle helmet and would like for it to stay on stand by mode for the entire ride.
how would i use the mic 2 and a dji mini 4 pro rc2? i want the handset to do screen record and audio, i need to learn about synk to video and audio , so many questions im loving the tech ;-)
Thank you. I'm just about to buy the MIC 2 for 349 dollars. Do you know if I can record 32 bit float directly to the transmitter with out a camera. I want to record nature sounds on a river. I will have the receiver but I don't know how that would work. I was hoping I could just take the transmitter out on my river raft and record audio. Is there a way. ?
I question I have is whether it is better to record audio internally on the mic vs. plugging it into your camera and letting your camera recording merge the mic audio into the video? I used the camera to record the mic audio and it sounded pretty horrible I must say. Though my apartment also has a lot of echo so that played a part.
Great Video. Can the mic 2 (pair) work independentantly with 2 x Osmo Action Cameras. e.g 1 Mic & Osmo action 4, and the other Mic to another Action 4???? thanks
quick question i just got the older dji mic one and wanted to connect it to a go pro hero 8 with the media mod that is connected to a chest mount. Any recommendations for a cable that would connect the dji mic to the audio of the go pro. I want to Upgrade my audio for my videos . Thank you so much!!
Have you noticed theHave you noticed the quality is SIGNIFICANTLY worse when connected via Bluetooth vs. the receiver? Mine is a HUGE difference! The quality is trash (e.g., super tinny) when connected via Bluetooth to my iPhone 14 Pro Max, regardless of range/settings
I have the same iPhone as you and tried it via bluetooth. I cannot confirm your experiences. Yes, the sound isn't quite as good, the highs a little less, not quite as much punch in the mids, but otherwise nothing that couldn't be easily fixed in post. At the moment you can only get the sound in the BM Camera app. I assume you did that too?
Hi again, also something about DJI Mic 2 / Transmitter settings/ "Noise reduction via Botton"? Because in your video there is not this section, but I have...
Do u know osmo pocket 3 can use four Dji mic 2 recording ? Two mic with Bluetooth link with osmo pocket and two mic with mixer link with osmo pocket 3 usbc port , thanks ~ hope for reply 🙏🏻🙌🏻
Hi amazing GC, when you use Transmitter settung/Rec/ "REC stop lock", how can you effectively stop recording...? You have to enter the transmitter setting menu, and disable "REC stop lock" or is there a shorter way to do it? Thanks for a reply.
Cool! But how do you connect the Receiver to the DJI Osmo Action 4 so I can use the two microphones with the Action 4 camera? Is that Receiver -> Action 4 camera direction connection via the 3.5mm cable? Or can I just pair both DJI Transmitter microphones to the Action 4 camera via Bluetooth?
Hi thanks for the great tutorial, I hope you can do a separate one for use with one TX directly to cameras eg Insta360, Ace Pro and X3 and Leica Models. eg I did a paired link with ACE PRO and blue light on, but how do I activate onboard recording at same time ? I cannot get the yellow light ? to activate on board recording. Does that mean that unless you have a receiver you cannot set it as default to start internal recording ? So some loose ends need to be clarified. hope you can give a quick answer here please ?
Awesome video very informative! Looking to wear these when im bowling for my channel. These are the only wireless mics that i found that work on my android and go bluetooth as well as have the audio go through the android as well while im recording. thank you
Great video, do you mics also blinck green when the case is opened before taking them out of it? Also, my mic doesn't seem to be able to connect to my iphone through bluetooth.
I have the receiver setting to Stereo but the onboard recording on the transmitter is always in mono. So when I listen with headphones its only in one ear. Is there a way in Davinci Resolve to make sure it comes through L&R headphones? Do I have to duplicate and link the audio tracks?
if record stop lock is turned on can it also prevent me from starting a recording if I accidentally press it? As opposed to only preventing me from stopping a recording that's currently in progress. TIA! Love your simple straight forward video!
Hi. Just got my new DJI2 to hook up the Acepro and X3. I will use your settings since I will be recording in motorcycle. Want to get the most out of it and fine tune sound. Thanks, great channel and materials. 🇵🇷✌️
Does 32 bit float automatically record to my transmitter if it is linked and connected to my iphone? I don't think it has been saving to transmitter when I'm baking into iphone video.
I don’t think so because there’s no way to turn 32 bit float off or on when connected via Bluetooth. You’d need to connect via the receiver from the Mic 2 kit, as this would allow you to toggle the settings.
These mics are best for targeted sound, like if you’re picking up a specific sound from something like a voice or waterfall. The OA4 built in mic is probably better suited for ambient sound recordings.
Hi I need help. I cant get sound from "out" on receiver to "mic" Nikon Z6. This happened suddenly. Is there somethin with the cable, Mic 2 or the camera??
Great video! I have the Mic 2 complete set, and I wanted to know if I can record internally with 2 mics. Basically I want to know if I can have a 2-person podcast setup using the mics and receiver only.
Yes, each transmitter has 8GB of built-in memory and can record independently of the receiver in 24bit or 32bit float. When you plug a transmitter into your computer it will show up as a flash drive and has the sound files stored as wave files.
Thank you so much!!! How do I use both mics though? Like I know I can record internally to one mic, but I’m not sure how record internally with both mics, and export it as mono / one conversation. So I need to try to match it up post production?
@@theetravelingwriter It makes a unique recording on each transmitter. The way it records to each transmitter is set in the menu system of the receiver. As an example, person 1 has their own wave file on their transmitter 1 and person 2, has their own wave file on their transmitter 2. You would need to sync those in post. If you plug the receiver into a camera or another audio recorder you can get a stereo wave file or merged (mono) wave file.
Internal recording of DJI Mic 2 cannot be used when the transmitter is connected to a smartphone via Bluetooth. So you must record with the Reciever to have the Mics do the internal recording or at least without using Bluetooth. Also, the Noise Cancelling does not work over Bluetooth either. And if you are using the Reciever, the automatic internal doesn't start unless you start it on each transmitter. Meaning if the Reciever is connected with the cable to a Camera, when the camera starts recording it will get the audio from the transmitters, but they won't auto-save internally.
Not in camera. You can record internally to the mic and bake the audio into your camera’s memory card and synch the two audio clips in post production.
hello I hope I ask my question in a way that will be understood lol. So I am trying to use my creator combo pocket 3 for car cinematic videos. I was to be able to capture cool air intake and exhaust sounds (I know the mic is not meant for this) Ive heard from content creators that the bluetooth will just not work when moving at high speeds like on a highway even streets. And when they tried using 32bit, the audio is just over kill. NOW, my question is, if buying the mic 2 with transmitters and reciever, can I use those mics paired with a phone that would be in my car (so bluetooth is connected and gains lowered) to save the recording like on voice memo and sync it in post? would that be a possibility ? Thank you
DEFINITELY would like to see a dedicated video for stereo vs. mono, especially editing the tracks. It seems tedious if you record in stereo with two mics in editing because wouldn't you have to have separate tracks and duplicate the mono to each channel and then edit them both separately and mute or unmute?

Thanks much
Is the track recorded on the internal memory of the Tx as low in volume as on the DJI MIC V1? I have to amplify the internal recording by many dB before I even can understand the person speaking. I hope the V2 is better or the volume can be adjusted.
Hello there. Which wireless microphone system has a mic built into the receiver. I would love to mic up my wife and daughter and also allow the camera persons voice to be recorded into the receiver or camera. So basically its a 3 mic system. I often comment from behind the camera when using my current setup which is a Rode single shortgun mic.
I’m only interested in Bluetooth with iPhone 15 pro max. I need to know how good is the sound quality? Most RUclipsrs only test it with cameras but I already know it’s good for regular cameras use. Bluetooth is a must know feature. I will wait until someone is doing deep testing.
It’s pretty bad, worse that zoom call quality. If you’re desperate or in a pinch and have nothing AT ALL, then it’s “eh” but overall, you’re much better off connecting the receiver to the phone and record with the transmitter
I didn’t see it mentioned in any of your other videos on the Mic 2. Do you know how many Mic 2’s you can connect to the Action 4? I see you can connect two to the Pocket 3. Thanks.
Still just one TX for the Action 4 for now if connecting wirelessly via Bluetooth. Hopefully that changes in the future. But if you connect the Mic 2 receiver to the Action 4, you can connect 2 TXs.
Helpfull. Is there a way to auto adjust software to level 32bit float by meaning boost lows to a level closer to the high range automaticlly some how? I use fcp. When i drop the 32 bit file on a timeline and boost gain it will clip and show red and yellow in waveform. Having a hard time with small room at a karate dojo w really loud and soft vocals when setup as a shotgun mic. Im not asking for perfect audio but decent quality range overall. Am i expecting too much for lazy editing? Im new😂Thank You
Might not be the ideal use of this mic. If filming in a small room with a lot of noise, it’s best to have the mic as close to your subject as possible.
I am having issues with the mic even when I have noise cancellation turned out it get a lot of background noise. What’s the solution to this issue? Does any one of you having similar issues. Thanks
Thank you so much for your presentation--it's hugely helpful. I'm a freelance journalist and news/documentary producer. My client has hired me to pre-interview a potential subject for a doc and I thought instead of jotting down notes / recording audio only, that I would record audio using my new DJI 2 mic + filming using my iPhone 14-pro (mounted on tripod). I'm still getting my head around the settings-- A couple of questions: -- If the DJI mic 2 is my primary audio recorder, which, in your estimations, is more reliable: using the bluetooth connection or the lighting adapter to plug directly into the iPhone charger port? -- I will be mic'ing up the subject and myself to record both my questions and the answers. Does the receiver record in stereo on two channels? I will be activating the recording on both transmitters (do you recommend doing this via settings or the external buttons?) AND, is this considered a backup or the main recording? -- Do I retrieve the files from the transmitters, the receiver or all three? -- How do I chance the name of the transmitters so they don't appear as NO NAME when I connect to my computer? -- I"m using a Anker mag battery pack (x2) during the interview (which I expect to last 1-1.5 hours). It will allow me to do a longer interview and keep the iPhone powered while using the charger port for the DJI mic receiver... unless I use bluetooth connection? I've seen folks use a hub to plug the DJI mic into that so the iPhone can get a hard-wired charge at the same time--any thoughts? Thank you so much!!
but here’s my two cents: - Bluetooth connection is newer for this mic, and although I haven’t had any connection issues, I’d say a direct connection is more reliable just because I’ve never had a failure in several years while using this method. - yes, it records to Stereo as long as you set it on the receiver - activating internal recording via the transmitter record button is fine; maybe toggle the auto lock feature to make sure your subject doesn’t accidentally stop recording. This is considered backup audio. - all backup internal recordings are stored on the individual transmitters, not the receiver
@@Gemini_Connect great--thank you so much. Is the beginning of your response missing? So the recording from the transmitters are considered back-ups which means the recording from the receiver is the main recording? If so, and I connect the receiver directly into the iPhone port will the main recording appear as a file on my phone or do I still need to connect to my laptop and transfer the file that way? And do you know how to change the names of the recorded files from "NO NAME" to whatever you want ? Many thanks!
I have the dji mic but I've been hunting for a lavalier or any or 3mm mic to plug in to record motorcycle exhaust. It's been such a challenge to not have peaking audio even at -32db. Do you have any recomendations for a mic to plug in that maybe had very low gain or something.
Heyyyyyy so I just got the creator kit. I don't have a receiver. Just a single transmitter. Does anyone know how to change the settings on this mic with out a receiver? I tried connecting it to the dji app but it didn't work. Thank youuuuuuuu
You cannot change the settings ()like enabling 32-bit float) without the receiver, or DJI Osmo Pocket 3. Once enabled the setting with stay active. But of course, you cannot change back to 24-bit.
Wait till people figure out this little guy can power a SHURE SM7db AND deliver a clean signal w/ 32bit float. DJI really changed the game with these wireless Lav system!
Thank you for this wonderful video and easy explanation. It would be really nice if you could record a video on how to edit audio in post production. Thank you.
Noted! I don’t do much audio editing in post other than slightly raise the audio levels if needed. But this can be a useful follow up for this product: ruclips.net/video/Jaat2PpJC5w/видео.htmlsi=sPEo8ob0u8Lfmn-z
What makes it so incredibly easy to quickly set up the transmitters is this: If you press the middle of the right wheel in the main window of the receiver, a yellow frame appears around the respective transmitter and you can use the wheel to determine the volume of the transmitter at this level. This way you don't have to dive into the menu. If you press the wheel again, the yellow frame will jump further. Maybe the tip will help.
May I ask, as you also own the new Ace Pro from Insta, will the Mic 2 still work with it after the latest update for the Mic 2 from DJI? I just saw a review where the Mic 2 would not work with a guys Ace Pro any more after he updated the firmware on his DJI mic 2. Have you struck this? We are about to purchase the Ace Pro and Mic2 but will have to find a different mic system if noblonger compatible. Its a lot of money to lose the use of through a firmware update. Keep the great reviews coming. Regards Tony & Selina
My Mic 2 does connect to the Ace Pro via Bluetooth, but TBH the audio quality is not the best. So I personally wouldn’t rely on this as a good audio source.
@@Gemini_Connect I actually got a reply back from Insta themselves and they said that since the DJI Update some Ace Pros sort of worked with the Mic 2 others didnt at all and that they were working on a fix on their end as an update for the AcePro. I have seen a couple of YT Videos from before the update with comparisons of the Ace Pro/GOPRO 12 with DJI against Rode mics and the Ace with Mic 2 was by far the better.
Great video and comprehensive coverage. I have the Osmo Action 4 which will connect to the Mic 2 without the receiver and is £100 cheaper . What advantage would buying the Mic 2 with the receiver give me for £100 more in price ? Would appreciate your reply/comments. Thanks.
4:14: That drove me nuts! If the Mic is in Bluetooth mode, it will not link with the RX. Pressing and holding the Record button toggles BT and Wifi modes. I found that little tidbit of information in the PDF user manual. The directions for the Pocket 3 Creator Combo tell you to press the Record button until the LED turns blue, but the instructions failed to mention that puts the mic into Bluetooth mode. THANK YOU for mentioning that!
One thing i dont like is that when the receiver is plug in to a mirrorless or camecorder and you try to monitor with headphones, it sounds like a robotic voice. However when the video is done, the voice is ok.
I'd love more information on the Mono vs Stereo recording if you wouldn't mind. And thanks for the information about the DJI Mic 2. This video is simply the best. Directed to the point. I am so glad I found you here. Thank you for these valued instructions.

Is the automatic on/off also working with the gopro11?
It should work with all cameras.
I don't need the mic for my voice but I want a better ambient sound. Would this mic give me an added value above the Osmo action4 mic?
These mics are best for targeted sound, like if you’re picking up a specific sound from something like a voice or waterfall. The OA4 built in mic is probably better suited for ambient sound recordings.
Wealth of knowledge! Thank you!
Hi there will it work with the GoPro 12 either Bluetooth or the cable it comes with

Agreed. It’s possible, but the BT audio quality on those cameras is poor.
You said it s compatibile with actiom osmo4. I have an osmo action 3, so it means that this mic is not for me?😊
Looks Cool Mam
You mention that both kits come with the charging case. I believe the only kit that comes with the charging case is the two receiver kit.

Mono always records a single audio track.
Can you make mono vs stereo and also a video using on iPhone for IG story

I had the same problem on the Mic 1. I think the default audio levels are set slightly higher in the Mic 2 transmitters.
Rode Wireless Me is the only mic system I know of with a mic on the receiver. You can also buy a second transmitter to complete your setup.
super merci !
This is so helpful. Thank you!
I'm still getting my head around the settings--
A couple of questions:
-- If the DJI mic 2 is my primary audio recorder, which, in your estimations, is more reliable: using the bluetooth connection or the lighting adapter to plug directly into the iPhone charger port?
Thank you so much!!
but here’s my two cents:
- Bluetooth connection is newer for this mic, and although I haven’t had any connection issues, I’d say a direct connection is more reliable just because I’ve never had a failure in several years while using this method.
- yes, it records to Stereo as long as you set it on the receiver
- activating internal recording via the transmitter record button is fine; maybe toggle the auto lock feature to make sure your subject doesn’t accidentally stop recording.
At 0:35 you show us a photo of DJI MIC1 kit.
I have the dji mic but I've been hunting for a lavalier or any or 3mm mic to plug in to record motorcycle exhaust. It's been such a challenge to not have peaking audio even at -32db. Do you have any recomendations for a mic to plug in that maybe had very low gain or something.
Did you find any solution for this?
@@Nizmo1283 Use Saramonic 3.5mm Lavalier and run it inside the tail of the bike.
Great job! Thank you
Awesome and to the point. Well done*****
Super helpful Video! Thanks for the detailed tips :) !
Wow!Impressive.
Thanks, this was simple and clear.
Very good explanation ❤
What makes it so incredibly easy to quickly set up the transmitters is this: If you press the middle of the right wheel in the main window of the receiver, a yellow frame appears around the respective transmitter and you can use the wheel to determine the volume of the transmitter at this level. This way you don't have to dive into the menu. If you press the wheel again, the yellow frame will jump further. Maybe the tip will help.
Ok, I didn’t even know that! Thanks for the tip.
brilliant video, thank you. Nice, easy explanations on everything.👍👍
Does it work with a GoPro hero 11?
Yes, if you plug the receiver into the Media Mod or mic adapter for the GoPro.
Great video and comprehensive coverage. I have the Osmo Action 4 which will connect to the Mic 2 without the receiver and is £100 cheaper . What advantage would buying the Mic 2 with the receiver give me for £100 more in price ?
Would appreciate your reply/comments. Thanks.
In your case, the Mic 2 receiver is mainly valuable if you want to use the mic system with a camera that won’t take the Bluetooth connection.
@@Gemini_Connect Thanks , I won't need to connect to anything else so you've saved me £100 . Thanks for quick reply. Love your videos.
Great video! Super informative!
What’s the point of the receiver?? I’m a bit confused..
