There is always a green light at the end of the tunnel. I will say don’t limit yourself and how you can do this is by researching. Check Miami University and other schools in the US. There will definitely be a school out there that you can meet their requirements
Ph.d is fully funded for all courses, just do the research, for USA as far as I know.

Hello, you can hardly transfer to study medicine. There are medical schools and for you to go to Medical school, you must have completed a 4-year degree I think. Except you want to transfer to a pre-med track or Iive sciences courses. Then you can go to medical school after

Economics as a course is also funded. So, all that matters is a career path

I didn’t apply separately but I had to do interview for them

In most cases, assistantship offers fully funded scholarships. Assistantship is that you work for the school and they assist with tuition ( full or partial) and also pay you stipend.
Fully funded scholarship is that they pay your tuition, and sometimes your living expenses (but they necessary don’t give you monthly stipends)

Half might not be the best because it “might” cause rejection. They might think you do not have the money to sponsor your education

Is it possible to get one and address it "To whom it may concern " so as not to burden the referees? I'm at that point now because I have a lot of schools I want to apply to as I would depend a lot on funding and assistantship.

Hello Emmanuel, Yes, you can get a one size fit all recommendation letter. You just need to tell your reference to not mention the name of the school. I would also prefer they address it to the Admission Committee instead of " To whom it may concern". However, if you can change your reference, I would also advice that you do so, so that it can be more genuine and personal. But whichever you choose is fine because I understand how overwhelming it can be for your recommenders.
