Chun-Li was the first character I ever won a game of Street Fighter with. Combine that with her being a cute and classy yet fierce butt kicker with an awesome theme song, yeah, I got a bit of a soft spot for her.
This music is incredible and unbelievable made by young talented Yoko.. just listen is soo complex and beautiful never get old... no composer can make great Chun Li theme for future street fighter.. even part 6 or 7... also listen to barlog theme is also great.

This theme song that always always always plays in my mind whenever, I see a cute little petite Asian girl walking in fast speed with her little cute little outfits. Or if they are quickly eating rice with chopsticks at a mall cafeteria. Or whenever I see a cute little asian girl in general, or a group of them in public taking, this song automatically plays in my mind…
I'm turning 22 in a few weeks and I've never played Street Fighter when I was young, instead starting with Smash Bros 64. A lifetime of Smash later, I went to a retro arcade mostly to see if I could break the high score on Xevious (I didn't, but got close with 2nd place), but Super Street Fighter II Turbo caught my eye. The first character I tried was Chun Li and I liked the fact that her strongest move is one that I can actually use without needing to practice input commands for hours. I found out that Street Fighter II Turbo is also on the SNES classic which I own so I've been playing the crap out of it. Still can't figure out how to fireball or use my special but I'm glad I'm getting into this franchise. I also got ssfiv for like $4 on steam so I'm excited to stretch my Chun Li legs in that game too.
Street Fighter 2 was before your time by about ten years. The thing that I can't emphasize enough when I was a kid playing it was that this was essentially the first fighting game of ANY kind really. There were concepts here and there before SFII like Karate Champ but SFII was the first time the entire picture came together. Nowadays there are dozens of fighting game franchises making entries every year or two years but back then it was all just brand new and fresh. What's amazing is that you can still pick up SFII Turbo and it's entirely playable and feels great. You'll notice some balance issues after a deep dive on it but the core concepts are still there and still hold up today. SFII was my childhood and probably the first video game I ever became obsessed with. I hope you enjoy it.
Hear me out. I think the women fighters of SF and MK would be paired well with each other in cosplay. It be great to see the cosplay image of Chun Li, Kitana, Cammy, and Sonya together.

Glad her girly side is still intact in SF6! Mainly in World Tour mode at times.
She's Chinese. Why does she speak in Japanese, anyway?
I think Chun-Li is a tomboy.
Being girly and being tough aren't incompatible concepts

Alevtina Mikhailov Hi!
The childhood happiness of the 90s can be ascribed to the Japanese! Thank indeed!

I absolutely agree. It brings back nostalgic moments! It's become a part of me especially Ryu's theme song. It gets me going when the chips are down.
Kudos to Yoko Shimomura for composing this - it sure does alot for my childhood. Love this even till today.
Chun Li will always have a special place in my heart. She was the first character I managed to beat the game with, back in the day
Yo también, fue el primer personaje con el que aprendí a jugar.
X2 y siempre la elijo para jugar y derrotó a todos hasta a Bison en modo Hard.
Ryu ftw
I loved her forward step single fist punch, flashing her bad ass spiked wrist ring, that was my favourite K.O. move with Chun Li.
