Really dig the fly rod footage. I flyfish off the rocks on the Big Island. Big swells. Rough rocks. Very challenging. I think having a spin setup gives you a lot more versatility, but the fly is such a blast! Cheers and congrats on that P.B.!
Always take my line etc bait bags etc home in the bucket, makes me sick seeing all the rubbish left behind in the rocks, and carparks even when there's a bin right there... retarded world we live in when idiots can't take home or put their crap in a bin.
When I was young, one of our ranch hands father caught a Jewfish that covered the bed of his truck. The head was mashed up against the cab and the tail was hanging over the tailgate. Next time I'll tell you about my scuba diving experience with Groupers. I love watching your videos!

Man one of the best fishing videos I,ve seen. Wish I lived near oceans like that. Fish secrete a glyco-protein slime from the cells in their skin to make it harder for parasites to attach. Some fish even secrete toxins into the slime to deter predators. Fish scales provide protection and reduce water turbulence. Touching a fish with dry hands will damage the slime coating. Slamming it on barnacle laden rocks also cant be good for the fish..
There's not much new under the sun Gido, but with a groper on fly and now a dhu, in only a couple of months, thats a pretty fair effort! Keep up the great land based stuff mate, very inspirational.

S-81: We have bag limits here in WA mate ie limits on the amount of fish you’re allowed to catch and keep. The goal of a managed fishery is so that we have fish to catch in the future as well. We all like and respect that facet of a managed fishery. As always there are rule breakers but these Gido and Dane (like the majority) do the right thing. 😃
