I have never heard a porcupine vocalization before! Also, it appears that they come in different color phases. I was not aware of that either. Thank you for this wonderful video!
I was backpacking with two friends in the Rockies. In the morning we found some quills from a porcupine. One of my friends said he heard that porcupine shooting quills at us. We told him he was full of sh*t. They don’t shoot their quills. We all had a good laugh.
I love the sounds they make..nice video and you were right it did make me smile. If you haven't seen Teddy the rescue porcupine...youtube...the best of teddy the porcupine.
@@gabrielg.2401 I'm not really familiar with porcupine behaviour to accurately assess these clips. I know over a period of about three weeks this was a hot spot for the species with lots of scent marking on the trees and several different ones passing through.
😆..love the vocals...they always sound like they're either complaining, or just plain angry, about something.
muttering expletives at the camera
O yes! An absolute joy to watch...That was some big itch for such a long satisfying scratch!! How grand yet so much fun to watch!
LOL that noise they make! So adorable! And the noise their quills make when they shake! :)
😊😁definitely made me smile💙
Gave me the quills!

Poor little guys - they can't really scratch their backs very well can they? So cute tho.
I imagine doing anything is an endeavor in proper movement
That was great! ❤
Must have felt good to scratch that itch!
Cute lil guy.
I heard similar noises but didn't know it was porcupines. Love seeing them, albeit rarely, in the wild.

I had a conversation with a porcupine in Burnham wood in 1991- true. In 1987 I ate his kin, super yummy- just sayin.
