15 species visit the lynx latrine
This is a four month compilation from mid-May to mid-September of 2022 at a site I call the 'lynx latrine." Canada lynx are creatures of habit, traveling the same trails and using the same latrines repeatedly. This site is just off a main wildlife trail, tucked away in the bush a bit. The gray stuff on the mound in this video is old, dry lynx scat. So when I targeted this site I expected to capture that species on camera here and hopefully a few others.
However, over the four months, there were at least 15 different species that visited this site. There were 3 bird species, likely more that I did not keep due to quality and lack of being able to identify. Those birds and other smaller spe...

Two months at the watering hole
Просмотров 6 тыс.2 месяца назад
Wildlife compilation from August and September of 2022 at this seasonal pond discovered late in the season including grizzly bears and cubs, a moose, elk, coyote, wolves, a wild horse, and a black bear. I had to eliminate the redundancy of over 100 videos of bull elk that used this area as a wallow during the rut.

A wonderfully entertaining compilation of porcupine behaviors from the Yukon wilds including scratching, shaking, lots of vocalizing, sneezing, and scent marking by climbing a tree and rub its underside.
Black wolf bookended by wolverines
Просмотров 162 тыс.3 месяца назад
A black wolf, lynx, coyotes, a porcupine, and a snowshoe hare are sandwiched in between wolverines at this spot which was a seasonal test site in late fall of 2022 which, although not prolific, resulted in some wonderful wildlife activity.
Swans in the forest !?
Просмотров 7 тыс.3 месяца назад
A typical two months in the Yukon wilderness from 2022 until a major hydrological event occurred on July 3-4, resulting in a couple of completely unexpected visitors a few days later. You'll also see a brief appearance by myself (if you watch til the end) as I check a camera just 2.5 hours after a grizzly passes by. If you're interested, in order of appearance ..... lynx, wolf, lynx (night), ly...
Six months at the "Moose Cam"
Просмотров 38 тыс.3 месяца назад
This is a six month compilation, May-October 2023, at my "Moose Cam", aptly named due to the frequency of moose that visit. There's also lots of lynx activity as well as grizzly and black bears, a few wolves, and some snowshoe hares.
Dam Cams! A dual camera wildlife compilation
Просмотров 9 тыс.3 месяца назад
At opposite ends of a breached beaver dam spanning nearly 80 yards, thus the lower water level and more exposed dam structure, two cameras captured the wonderfully entertaining activity over the summer months of 2020. Beginning with a red tail hawk and ending with a short tail weasel, this location was visited by more variety of wildlife than any other location. Land mammals, migratory and resi...

From predators to prey and omnivores to herbivores, appearing in this compilation from July to early November are the following species: moose, red fox, grizzly bear, mule deer, coyote, black bear, Canada lynx, silver fox (a color morph...
Yukon Wildlife Cams - Introductory Trailer

Welcome to Yukon Wildlife Cams! This is my endeavor to share wildlife activity captured by motion activated trail cameras deployed in the wilderness of Canada’s Yukon Territory (aka The Yukon). I do this for the simple enjoyment of wildlife viewing and my hope is that these videos will facilitate an appreciation and respect for the wilderness and wildlife that call it home. There is no hunting ...

With up to 20 hours of summertime daylight at the solstice peak, nighttime "transition" videos are more easily facilitated as seen here from alongside this seasonal pond with clips from bison, elk, moose, wild horses, grizzly bears, and a pair of owls.
Canada lynx: Six month, single camera compilation
Просмотров 2 тыс.4 месяца назад
Canada lynx are creatures of habit, maintaining their presence in an area as long as a food source is available, walking the same routes and using the same latrines. This is a six month compilation from 2021, most likely ony a couple individuals shown throughout the entire video.

It is actually so amazing how these different species use this same trail. These animals aren't wandering the forest, instead, they seem to be using a series of well-worn paths to go about their day. Everyone communicates through scent and hearing. It's a complex community

Moose are deer not bovids, therefore male, female, and juvenile moose are called stags, does, and fawns respectively, all with antlers are deer because all deer have antlers.
