    great explanation and demonstration. Sometimes coaches are not very clear in their teaching, you explain every needed movement in a superb and clear way. Thanks! :)

    you explain everything so clearly and also with such attention to detail!!! I just started learning this and had been mostly swinging my hips to get the turn, as opposed to also rising to the toes which I think would make the turn lighter/smoother. Wish my coach told me this...thanks and keep posting!

      +XingTing Gong glad to help, always listen to your coach tho as they can see what you are doing and might have other opinions on what will help.

    Your videos have helped me so much. I am an adult skater and you really break things down in a way I can understand. I also teach beginning skating and use your tips with my students. Thanks very much. I would love to see videos on back sit spins and back camel. Thank you again!

    Excellent detailed instruction, the next best thing to having one to one instruction. Much indebted to you.

    Thanks! I've just learned it today after watching this video yesterday. It's not perfect but managed to hold it without falling on my other leg as usually. Yay! It still needs some work of course. It really helps to learn it on two-feet first then move on one leg. The other way will be way tougher. :-)

    Hi, I love your videos, I just have a little request can you do all the skate UK levels and do like a tutorial on all the things in the levels?
    Example:
    1: marching, marching in circles, how to stand up if you fall, so on so on...
    2: lemons, backwards marching, so on...
    And you get the idea.
    You don't have to do this but my family thought it was a good idea to do because we do the skate UK levels and would like some help, and so we thought what better person to ask then you. Because you know all about ice skating and your from the UK!
    Just a little request, and if it's not possible then we'll have to ask someone else. :( but if it is then THANK YOU!

      I would find that really helpful too! The only thing I need so that I can move up is my three turns :(. I would love to know how to do everything coming up though!

    Thanks! Your videos are super helpful! Especially since I can't afford private lessons. I tried doing these one-foot turns today and couldn't make it the full 180 degrees. Maybe I should go faster, or use more force?

    • @gracebogdan1947
      @gracebogdan1947 7 лет назад

      @Cathy North When I first started I wasn't able to get that 180 but with practice you will eventually. I went slow at first and worked nicely. I wouldn't suggest using force as I did once and caught my toe pick, luckily my coach caught me before I fell on my face :')

      @damagineer3147 7 лет назад +1

      Cathy North I also recommend starting slowly. Also if you have to, try them with two feet first.

    Just wondering if you could do a future presentation on loops (as in moves in the field figures and footwork, not the jump).

    • @pineapplepizza8639
      @pineapplepizza8639 7 лет назад

      Edmund Geswein Actually the channel Kseniya and Oleg has a loop tutorial

    • @edmundgeswein
      @edmundgeswein 7 лет назад +1

      Zuramaru Yes, I saw their loop videos. I was just trying to get a different prospective because I know there are different styles and ways to present the technique. I needed a little more detail, so I tried a subscription to icoach for two months and it was very helpful on all aspects of skating. Now I just need to practice the stuff. I'm making progress and getting the feel for ice techniques (I used to roller skate).

    I love the way you explain exercises! I just learnt this but is it normal that when I turn my free leg falls to the ice? what can I do to fix it?

    • @emask8s
      @emask8s 7 лет назад +2

      You may be dropping the free hip on the turn. I would suggest keeping it lifted, level with the skating hip, while going thru the turn.

    I’m confused so if you’re doing an outside 3 turn you always have your left arm in front regardless of which leg you’re doing it on?

  • @rachelmarshall2577
    @rachelmarshall2577 9 лет назад

    My coach here in Rome, the great ice dancer Federica Faiella, and I as student are trying to figure out the merits of doing the 3 turn the first way you show with the arms hugging the circle, and then the second way with the arms in the opposite direction. Why do you personally demonstrate both styles?

    • @xxXThinIceXxx
      @xxXThinIceXxx  8 лет назад +1

      +Rachel Marshall I prefer the first way for someone who is first learning how to turn as it help the skater learn to get the correct body rotation and control, where as the second looks nicer and has more flow.
