You are the best instructor ever. I only watch your skating videos on youtube. I am in my 50's and am working on USFSA adult bronze freeskate and moves tests. You break down the elements into simple easy to understand parts. Thanks again!
You make it look so easy. I'm still working on mine. For some unknown reason I don't trust my back edge. This really broke it down for me and I am going to do your technique
You can still skate just maybe not lessons I guess Anyway I feel really bad for you I miss ice-skating so much when it's summer and can't imagine how it could be with no skating at all
These tutorials are really helpful ! I would love to see some more...For example the transitioning from forward crossovers to backward crossovers via a Mohawk/3 Turn and then to forward crossovers again.
This is really helpful but I have one problem: For my right mohawk I keep doing a sort of 3 turn before I switch my feet. Is there a way to solve this?
I’m going to try this today. I just wanted to share that I’m so happy, because it’s school holidays at the moment so (not my nearest rink because that doesn’t do free skate but I go to my lessons there and it’s 15 min away) the rink 30 min away is open 9:30- 15:45 so if I don’t get to go for the whole time I can at least get in a 3 hour or more skate session :)
How to do a mondo? I don't know if it's the same name in english. That figure when you have two legs in opposite directions but in one line and you skate around the circle.
So what tips do you have for doing a right forward inside swing mohawk? I have to do this element for my Pre-Bronze MITF test as part of a crossover pattern (transitioning from forward crossovers to backward crossovers), and I never feel like I have the balance right to allow for that inside mohawk to happen.
Janet Slater Would this be Ice Dance? I have no experience in ice dance but the mohawk part would be very similar to this video, the only difference would the swing, but after that you should be able to hit the same positions as I have shown.
Nope. It's a transition element that's required in the USFS Pre-Bronze MITF test. Although, yes, the swing mohawk is often used in ice dance. I think what I'm just going to do is do the pattern in the opposite direction (which is allowed) as my left mohawk is generally much stronger than my right.
Hi, may I know how do u do a mohawk in a straight line? each time I tried doing a mohawk in a straight line, my upper body will rotate too much, and I end up skating in a curve again. Do u have any solutions to overcome this problem?

I am in Delta. But learning how to do a Mohawk took me a long time. We'll at least I think so. It's harder than it looks
+demigod 4 life yeah, its not the easiest turn to master.

I miss skating so much. I had to quit when I started getting to competition level because we couldn’t afford it.

Can I do this on roller blades too? Btw. You have great videos! ♥
can I start a mohawk skating backwards? Is that what you show for the waltz (3) jump? Thank you for your videos.
Can you do slow motion videos? :) Or repost in slow motion?
You can play RUclips videos in 0.5 and 0.25 speed, by clicking on the settings 'cog wheel' icon, and selecting speed.

+kreciryjzatracony I think that is a spread eagle, I may be wrong though.
That's it! Thank You!
I can do this but I still need to perfect it for when I decide to speed up with crossovers and all lol
Is your thumb facing down as you want to turn towards the circle?

when i actually do it i freaking die wtf i cannot turn my leg that far i am not prepared-
same i’m in gamma and i can barely do it
i love you

+Yong Hui Yie as you turn make sure you counter rotate with your upper body.
I am on Delta
Do you find artificial ice harder to skate on?
Hello

When can't take lessons anymore and have to teach yourself
1:12
thats not it.
This was really bad demonstration of mohawk! No work with the knees. This is how I do it and I definitely need improvement!
Whenever I go to an ice rink, I am the only guy in his late 20s who just started skating
rockubabe We have a few at our rink.
