Why the need to tune down the E string if you have a fifth string? Just asking. 🤔 (Acoustic double bass (which my dad used to play) would be low C or B.)
Its the different tensions between each string that keep the neck from bowing to much or the opposite, basically if you tune the B string up to E flat that would be like tuning the E string up to A it would just not work because of all the tension and it would most likely snap
