My first thought when I watched Angela's video was about the lamp breaking! When you were unboxing your box, I was saying out loud please don't let the lamp be broke please don't let the lamp be broke! LOL thank God for great husbands!
What a lovely idea. I loved the two couple prints above the coat rail. Just looked wonderful with the background colour paint and I adored the tea caddy. So English like me.
As I was listening to this episode, I was scraping thrift store tag residue off my new ceramic pot with rubbing alcohol. When you said “lemon oil” I went running to the drawer! My life is changed forever 😂. Thank you!! I absolutely love your channel, and I love your warm home 💕. I live in Puyallup , WA
The lamp was my absolute favorite. So glad to see your hubby could fix it back. There is a Japanese artist that breaks glass and put it back to gather with a golden thread of glue to show that even when things are broken you can see the scars of life but the glittering golden strand of glue can make even scars of life beautiful again.
That Japanese artform is called "Kintsugi" and it is exactly what my first thought was. It would actually be the prefect remedy for those cracks. In truth, my heart fell when I saw that adorable lamp had broken as it was my favorite of the lot. When I wrap breakables they can be dropped out of an airplane and still remain intact but that is my particular fussy idiosyncrasy. Glad that the lamp is still appreciated and has a home.
God bless Stu for fixing that glorious lampshade- that could have been an absolute tragedy! You and Angela definitely have a lovely friendship, for her to pick so much lovely and whimsical decor for you.
Everything Angela sent was perfect for your home! I can imagine how happy you were to receive the boxes! It's the kindness of others that lifts our hearts. How fortunate you both are to have such a special friendship!
You and Angela are like twins separated at birth. I see things in your house that remind me of Angela, and vice versa. And you both have incredibly fabulous children and good husbands! I've grown to love you both, and all of your kids, and Stu and Joel, and even your pets. Thanks to you both for inviting all of us strangers in, and for putting in the time to produce excellent viewing.
Angela hit a home run with this wonderful box of antiques. Everything in those boxes screamed “I’m Home!” The colors of each and every item was perfect for the home you gave them. I almost feel like it was Christmas because of the joy I felt when you hung or placed each item in the perfect spot. This was such relaxing fun video. I like the idea of a close friend who knows you well enough to pick just the right antiques. Thank you for sharing. Hope you and your family are well. ❤️Leslie
I started at Angela’s and ended seeing your video. I miss my best friend so much and it warmed my heart watching Angela pick out her pieces for you and then to see you get them! I think a antique package for my BFF is in order! I got teary eyed that your husband glued the glass for you ♥️ I loved where you put all your new special pieces This was so lovely!
My heart sank when I saw the lamp my absolute favorite piece I love unusual lamps and have several. So happy your husband mended it. Having lived in Puyallup and the Peninsula I know antiques are not plentiful in WA.
My wife is so thoughtful like you, but so much of the joy in being free from the grind is occupied by things that are so easily taken for granted. My kids drag me into a blanket fort lifestyle at least twice per month, and we so enjoy a game of "you can't tip the daddy, tickles approved." ( I lose easily). You seem like very loving people, and i'm sure you enjoy many of the same things we do. I think 90% or what i know about my kids, and what I share with them is accomplished during the milking of our two Dexters.
The pillow case is a great find and fits well, 😍. Oooh the Lamp shade what a beautiful find. You are so blessed to have a patient Man like Stew to save that piece 🙌💥🐦. That was a real treat getting what were other folks treasures to decorate with👍.! JO JO IN VT 💕😄
What a delight this is, especially since I used to so enjoy poking around in antiques shops, which I haven't done for such a long time. Thanks for sharing it with us. Tried to read her note but couldn't make it out. That green bottle just sings in the sunshine coming through that window with a Dahlia in it no less! The broken lamp shade is really a special piece & adds so much to your little bar, & kudos for hubbie for mending it for you.It must cast a lovely glow when the sun goes down.Love those bird paintings or prints, too. Amazing how those 2 prints you hung above a green painted antique had the same shade of green in them!
Drats! I can't believe the beautiful lamp broke and it was Angela's fave! But when you said your husband put it back together for you, just brought tears to my eyes. Yes, life ends up showing all our cracks in life... and so it goes.
What a treasure you have in such a friend SS Angela. She’s the best ! She beautiful, creative, talented and so generous to go antiquing for you. Some of those treasures I would have had trouble parting with. She’s a very real person and a good one. Lucky you❤️
It’s so nice to have friends like you two! Even more so to be able to enjoy watching you both, being good friends for each other that have so much in life
When you were talking about using your dishes when you have guests, I had a little pang. I am so lonely to do hospitality, I don’t think I realized what an important part of my life hospitality had been until it has been denied me. Thank you for another lovely video.
How exciting to get a box of treasures picked just for you! I am blessed to have a sister in my area and during the separation time of seeing loved ones during the beginning of covid we exchanged boxes by driveway drop off and it was so fun to open! Just to be thought of. Baked goods, plants, flowers, items for the kids...And we would put the most randon items in and just laugh. I made one for my minister's family also and it was well received. Nice to have some joy in simple things that bring happiness to our day. Thank you for sharing 💕
It all looked so beautifully placed. So sad about the broken glass, especially that lamp shade. Yes, your husband did a great job putting it together because it looks great at the bar. To great friendship! 🙏😁
@@susanwalline993 yes!!! It would have taken some cardboard to wrap around the lamp shade with bubble wrap underneath, lots of tape and bubble wrap over the cardboard. Same for each print.
Its so nice to out a face to the voice from the podcast! I just saw Angela's video and thought: what fun! The next time I go antiquing, I'm going to look for something to surprise my sister with on the other coast. (Oh, and my heart broke when I saw the lampshade! I'm so glad your husband was able to fix it!)
You should come to Nebraska. We have what we call the"Junk Jaunt" which is over 300 miles of antique shopping and involves 35 towns across Nebraska. It's definitely one of my favorite things. 🥰
So I have been following Parisienne Farmgirl and every time I wondered About the nature of the connection between you two! There were too many similarities! Glad to know you two are friends and business partners, two of my favorite channels!
🥰So sweet of Angela! I love her channel as well; Door County is calling me after this "season" is over. Loved seeing how you decorated with all the treasures! Love yours & Angela's style!🍁
How great to share your love of beautiful antiques with a friend. I wish I had a friend like that. Everyone always admires my collection and I'm generous but alas get few gifts in return.
Thank you for putting up a video for me to watch and relax with while me new puppy is giving me a few minutes of rest! Great gifts to receive from a friend! I love the toothpaste tip too! I just love your style and it opens up my eyes to how I can display my antiques too! I share a lot of your same tastes.
Enjoy your precious friendship! Angela is a lot of fun! I have been watching her for quite sometime. Then I found you and your family. The connection has been warm and wonderful. I am from Iowa. I would like some of Angela's rain here. Bad summer for us. One of my best friends just retired and 2 wks. after she got on her bike and was killed immediately! So I will never see her again. Friendships are so important , especially for women. I will enjoy the talk between you 2. thanks for sharing. Joyce
I have to say, I think this was one of my favorite videos. Maybe because I too love antiques and grew up surrounded by them. You are truly blessed to have a friend who knows you so well and sends a box full of love.
I was sorry about the breakage of the lamp and pictures. The post office could have been more careful since I’m sure they cost a fortune to mail! How fun it was for your unboxing. I am happy that you two Homestead friends will not stop the expensive mail system keep you two from shipping back and forth! So nice!
Unfortunately, when you mail items, especially glass you have to assume they are going to be dropped or tossed on the truck and wrap accordingly. As I watched her wrap them , I crossed my fingers for her knowing there would be at least one casualty. Unfortunately it was the lamp. Most items I receive through eBay are bubble wrapped with styrofoam peanuts and I’ve never received anything broken.
Nancy Parmelee yes indeed one should always assume the boxes will be tossed, dropped, thrown, etc. I knew when I saw her packing things up, that it would not all get there safely. It broke my heart the little lamp did not make it, but yay to Stewart!!! He saved the lamp, and it will have a story to tell ❤️
Shay I just loved this. I watch Angela all the time and find both of you to be such sweet, beautiful, family oriented people. I so love the fact, that like myself, you two ladies don’t mind the little imperfections of vintage and antique finds. It’s so nice to appreciate an item for having a life well lived...or should that be used?. Stay well. Gotta go watch your girl do the shopping for all of those lovelies you just shared.🌸💕
I love that you and Angela have such a sweet friendship. This was a great idea! If I have a broken glass print picture, I simply decoupage the print to the backing board, and top coat really well. If the backing board isn't nice, I'll cut very smooth plywood to fit. It looks great, and I know myself, I'll never get around to relaxing the glass!
So cool the unboxing. Loved to see her shopping for you too. So sad that things got broken. That lamp is amazing for sure. Love how you decorated it all and the toothpaste idea is wonderful. I need to do that for sure. Thanks
This was so fun to watch Shaye, and reminds me of my best friend, we love to go thrifting together and on the occasions that we go alone, we always get little something for the other 😍 Those bird prints are stunning, I LOVE vintage bird prints so very much!
Isn't that the most wonderful thing! The lamp is divine 😍 I love your table center piece. My best friend and I are in Texas and california. We have done the same thing; exchanging gifts over the miles. It eases the missing a lot.
This was a lovely idea! I haven't been to thrift store since I left Cincinnati.. I never antiqued per say but always loved looking for treasures. Sadly it is in storage right now but my best find was a side table for ~$20 with a limestone top filled with marine fossils. As a paleontologist by training it was a perfect find for me.
I enjoyed watching you unbox your treasures from Angela. Your home is lovely. I can see why you two are friends. Both lovely, classy and down to earth women and mothers. Thank you for sharing your joy with your gifts.
Shaye, I absolutely LOVE your videos! You make everything beautiful and prove that things don't need to be perfect to be valuable and perfect as they are. I loved it when you said as the box arrived, 'It's nothing for you" LOL I say this to my hubby all the time. I'm also following Angela and had NO IDEA you were friends. Thank you for your channel!
Each piece looks fantastic in it's new home. Angela chose well. The collab idea for this video was fun and sweet. Thanks for another glimpse into your friendship, ladies.
I did my fall decorating today... and as I was doing so I realized a) I am not a minimalist and that is okay and 2) I lean towards a traditional/with a hint of farmhouse vibe..... I love love love the bird prints! Love your decorating style, even though it isn't mine...I appreciate the history and story of what you fill your home with.... so refreshing to see how you decorate your home as I am so tired of the houses that look like the "Dollar Store threw up in them!"....
I came over from Angela's channel to look. So sad about the lamp! And, yes, I still have things with bits of sticker on them. Although, there are a few things with the tags still hanging on them, too! 😁 At one flea market, the price was taped on with shipping tape to the front of an oil painting! Oh, and 4:05.... Spilled the wine, had to go get a rag to clean it up! I was watching that glass. 😂
Loved this idea & these 2 videos. Surely you will be sending Angela a special couple of boxes too? I am in NC & have sent things to a “soul mate” friend in Texas. Maybe you two can do clothing (2nd hand of course!) next. You know each other’s styles. Hope so & bet many other viewers would love that too. As you said “she NAILED it!
Such a pleasure to watch you both and subscribe to each of your channels. I had no idea of the lovely friendship that has long developed between you to immensely talented and beautiful women. This was a great use of my free time today watching this antique haul and gifting. Blessed are you both to have each other.
Ah, the little lamp...I kept wondering where it went. I just loved it when Angela picked it up. It made my heart happy when your husband repaired it. It looks wonderful and when you turned it on, it made me smile. “This little light of mine...💕”
Oooh! This is a fun one! I hope you enjoy antique unboxing with me!
My first thought when I watched Angela's video was about the lamp breaking! When you were unboxing your box, I was saying out loud please don't let the lamp be broke please don't let the lamp be broke! LOL thank God for great husbands!

Definitely did..🥀💞

The second I saw the broken lamp, I thought Kintsugi!!!! The Japanese art of repairing broken china with gold! That was my favorite piece!!

If you guys ever come to the western side of Washington there’s a town called snohomish with amazing antique stores and boutiques
Wow what a blessing to have a kind, generous and invested friend like this. Something I am searching for in life and praying for constantly! Xxx
I am also searching as well true friends are a treasure to find

You should always tape glass with masking tape crossed over as it helps stop breakage when travelling ! Lovely video thank you.
It all looked so beautifully placed. So sad about the broken glass, especially that lamp shade. Yes, your husband did a great job putting it together because it looks great at the bar. To great friendship! 🙏😁
I’m in awe, such Beautiful Antique pieces. Angela’s got a special gift.
TUFS.
I just knew the post office would break some of those things. Darn! How clever to hang those prints that way using toothpaste.
Angela needed to pack these items more carefully!
@@susanwalline993 yes!!! It would have taken some cardboard to wrap around the lamp shade with bubble wrap underneath, lots of tape and bubble wrap over the cardboard. Same for each print.
Wow that was the sweetest video! Loved the idea of sending someone you love such a wonderful care package!
We wish to see more and more.oh what a stunning home.🌸
I watched Angela's video and loved every single item she picked out. I'd charish a friend like that. Much love to you all! 💖

Shaye 🌻 what a 'fab idea'!! The pieces have more meaning... Angela does have a good 'Eye' 🤗
DD Eucalyptus works a treat on sticky glue 👌🇦🇺🧤👒 love your goodies ! Friends are so important and a treasure to have 💞🕊
The toothpaste trick is awesome! Layering is such a good idea, I keep forgetting about it but will revisit my deco now!🙈🌺🌷🌸
So fun seeing all your treasures. So many beautiful items & seeing you decorate with them was the icing on the cake.
Though I am a lifelong minimalist, I appreciate and admire your amazing collections. You are truly blessed to have such a wonderful friend...
looooove the pink glass lamp & love the cracks too because 1, its from your faraway friend & 2 it was put back together by your husband. sweet!
Well THAT was fun! And very sweet
How lovely 🥰 my favourite is the adorable couple prints just gorgeous 😊
Such a sweet vlog and so many beautiful treasures to enjoy for years. Thank your for making my heart smile today!
I enjoyed watching you unbox your treasures from Angela. Your home is lovely. I can see why you two are friends. Both lovely, classy and down to earth women and mothers. Thank you for sharing your joy with your gifts.
Sent over by Angela at Parisienne Farmgirl. Good to be here!
What a good friend. Sorry about lamp. I love that.
The beautiful pink glass lamp is elegant with its soft glow!
My very favorite of everything.
Angela is an expert at antiquing...
Ohhhh so it goes in the homemade life!!👍😊
It was great to see Angela's video first... and now yours... wonderful presents♥️👍🏻
A good friend indeed! Great videos!
Each piece looks fantastic in it's new home. Angela chose well. The collab idea for this video was fun and sweet. Thanks for another glimpse into your friendship, ladies.
Great finds, how fun!
Oh, the joy on your face Shaye!

I love love love the bird prints! Love your decorating style, even though it isn't mine...I appreciate the history and story of what you fill your home with.... so refreshing to see how you decorate your home as I am so tired of the houses that look like the "Dollar Store threw up in them!"....
This was fun to watch all the unboxing. Have a great day!
So sweet! I had already watched Angela shop for you! So this was a great video to watch! Lovely!! You ladies are adorable!
Wow best video collaboration ever. Enjoyed every second of both videos.
Loved loved this one and have watched several times. I love all the things she picked. Thank you💕
Beautiful treasures from a very thoughtful friend 💕
Love it all! You can also use tape across the back of the picture and mark where the nails will go, then put the tape on the wall❤️Vicki
You are so blessed to have such a great friend. I love her channel and I am glad to join yours too.
Beautiful friendship video, I love antiquing and this video inspires me to look for goodies
A friend is truly a treasure, rare and beautiful and always brings unexpected joy in ways that keep on warming our hearts.
I just love your style! Thank you for always inspiring me, Shaye!
Masterful collaboration!!! Loved every second on both channels!!!
You did a fantastic job styling 🦋
Such a pleasure to watch you both and subscribe to each of your channels. I had no idea of the lovely friendship that has long developed between you to immensely talented and beautiful women. This was a great use of my free time today watching this antique haul and gifting. Blessed are you both to have each other.
you guys are the best to show the best of antique
Ah, the little lamp...I kept wondering where it went. I just loved it when Angela picked it up. It made my heart happy when your husband repaired it. It looks wonderful and when you turned it on, it made me smile. “This little light of mine...💕”
Very fun! It would be like Christmas!!!
