Like she said, it's not like antique shopping in Paris... but we will get there someday. For now, we'll enjoy the farmhouse decor and celebrate friendship from afar. My first thought when I watched Angela's video was about the lamp breaking! When you were unboxing your box, I was saying out loud please don't let the lamp be broke please don't let the lamp be broke! LOL thank God for great husbands!

What a lovely idea. I loved the two couple prints above the coat rail. Just looked wonderful with the background colour paint and I adored the tea caddy. So English like me.
As I was listening to this episode, I was scraping thrift store tag residue off my new ceramic pot with rubbing alcohol. When you said “lemon oil” I went running to the drawer! The second I saw the broken lamp, I thought Kintsugi!!!! The Japanese art of repairing broken china with gold! That was my favorite piece!!
Angela hit a home run with this wonderful box of antiques. Everything in those boxes screamed “I’m Home!” The colors of each and every item was perfect for the home you gave them. I almost feel like it was Christmas because of the joy I felt when you hung or placed each item in the perfect spot. This was such relaxing fun video. I like the idea of a close friend who knows you well enough to pick just the right antiques. Thank you for sharing. Hope you and your family are well. ❤️Leslie

You and Angela are like twins separated at birth. I see things in your house that remind me of Angela, and vice versa. And you both have incredibly fabulous children and good husbands! I've grown to love you both, and all of your kids, and Stu and Joel, and even your pets. Thanks to you both for inviting all of us strangers in, and for putting in the time to produce excellent viewing.
The lamp was my absolute favorite. So glad to see your hubby could fix it back. There is a Japanese artist that breaks glass and put it back to gather with a golden thread of glue to show that even when things are broken you can see the scars of life but the glittering golden strand of glue can make even scars of life beautiful again.
That Japanese artform is called "Kintsugi" and it is exactly what my first thought was. It would actually be the prefect remedy for those cracks. In truth, my heart fell when I saw that adorable lamp had broken as it was my favorite of the lot. When I wrap breakables they can be dropped out of an airplane and still remain intact but that is my particular fussy idiosyncrasy. Glad that the lamp is still appreciated and has a home.
The pillow case is a great find and fits well, 😍.

How exciting to get a box of treasures picked just for you! I am blessed to have a sister in my area and during the separation time of seeing loved ones during the beginning of covid we exchanged boxes by driveway drop off and it was so fun to open! Just to be thought of. Baked goods, plants, flowers, items for the kids...And we would put the most randon items in and just laugh. I made one for my minister's family also and it was well received. Nice to have some joy in simple things that bring happiness to our day. Thank you for sharing 💕
What a treasure you have in such a friend SS Angela. She’s the best ! She beautiful, creative, talented and so generous to go antiquing for you. Some of those treasures I would have had trouble parting with. She’s a very real person and a good one. Lucky you❤️

That green bottle just sings in the sunshine coming through that window with a Dahlia in it no less! The broken lamp shade is really a special piece & adds so much to your little bar, & kudos for hubbie for mending it for you.It must cast a lovely glow when the sun goes down.Love those bird paintings or prints, too. Amazing how those 2 prints you hung above a green painted antique had the same shade of green in them!
My heart sank when I saw the lamp my absolute favorite piece I love unusual lamps and have several. So happy your husband mended it. Having lived in Puyallup and the Peninsula I know antiques are not plentiful in WA.

Drats! I can't believe the beautiful lamp broke and it was Angela's fave! But when you said your husband put it back together for you, just brought tears to my eyes. Yes, life ends up showing all our cracks in life... and so it goes.

My wife is so thoughtful like you, but so much of the joy in being free from the grind is occupied by things that are so easily taken for granted. My kids drag me into a blanket fort lifestyle at least twice per month, and we so enjoy a game of "you can't tip the daddy, tickles approved." ( I lose easily).
You seem like very loving people, and i'm sure you enjoy many of the same things we do. I think 90% or what i know about my kids, and what I share with them is accomplished during the milking of our two Dexters.

You should always tape glass with masking tape crossed over as it helps stop breakage when travelling ! Lovely video thank you.
I watched this with my four year old. Then I said, "today we are going to decorate! We are going to put up some pictures on the wall to make things cozy for winter!" A few minutes later she began to produce scribbles on one piece of paper after the next. "For the walls," she explained. "To decorate for Winter!"

@@susanwalline993 yes!!! It would have taken some cardboard to wrap around the lamp shade with bubble wrap underneath, lots of tape and bubble wrap over the cardboard. Same for each print.
