Hello Chris, I am super curious about Blanche Bête, Lost Alice and the Frassai fragrances. I recently got Santal Austral and agree about the performance. I want to check out more from the house of Matiere Premiere. Thanks for your video! - Jenn
Gosh, I remember Amish Friendship Bread. My mother loved to make that and share it. I love warm gourmands and I'm in a quandry about what to wear to a family dinner next month when I go for the first time in four years. I didn't wear fragrance back then other than maybe some body mist like Elizabeth Taylor's White Diamonds Lustre or some generic thing. I'm not sure anyone in the family wears fragrance, either (maybe the men do-I know one of my sons does). I am going to need something that lasts for a good long while since I won't be home all day after I leave the farm. I have samples of Jimmy Choo Fever and Montale Ristretto Intense Cafe as well as D&G The Only One, any of which I could layer over B&BW Coffee & Whiskey body cream for more lasting power as well as tuck into my purse for the day, but I have been really loving Lalique Le Parfum of late, not sure that's a gourmand, but it's so classy. I'm not really sure it will last all day, though and the bottle is just way too bulky to put in my purse for a touchup. I wonder if I could overspray it since it will take almost 2 hours to get there. I must purchase affordable fragrances so I'm a bit limited, though I have some Ajmal and Armaf fragrances I really like. Ack, decisions! Your descriptions are so helpful, Chris. Minuit et Demi by Fragrance Du Bois sounds yummy! ~Cynthia
Hi Cynthia!!! I love your comment! Those Middle Eastern fragrances always seem to pack a punch…which Amjal? And I got the Coffee & Whisky lotion recently and it does layer so well with so many things!!! I don’t have a single middle eastern perfume that is a poor performer.
And Le Parfum by Lalique is a gorgeous gorgeous perfume and for almost pennies (I got my bottle for around 30&…. That bay leaf gives it great character. I’d love to find an affordable option to Minuit. It’s so beautiful but very cost prohibitive for many. I think I may have found something in the ballpark for much less….stay tuned. Tell me what perfume you decide on and yes later with body cream ! 🥰big hug. Chris
Chris, I have Afnan Modest Deux, and Supremacy Gold, and Ajmal Sonnet and Wisal Dhahab, Armaf La Rosa, Momento Lace, Club De Nuit and Club de Nuit Intense. I've used an entire 3.4 oz bottle of La Rosa and will be replacing it. There are others I want, but I don't have room unless I build them their own bedroom in this little cottage, LOL.
American Cream is SOOOO GOOOOD! I don't get strawberries at all. It smells like Commodity Milk to me, but I like it better, to be honest. I almost bought it last time I was in a Lush...but I can't justify having both Milk and American Cream. Do you think they smell similar, or am I crazy?
Yes it does!!! I agree…American Cream is a more demure “Milk” core which is sweeter and “marshmallow-y”. For whatever reason…I find Milk is very sweet on me. 🥰
Amish Friendship Bread. I haven’t heard people talking about that for years! I’m gluten intolerant and I would love to be able to eat a GF version. Gourmand scents are my preferred category of fragrances, especially in the cold weather. Love from the spooky Pine Barrens in NJ
@@ThePerfumeNest I’m definitely into cozy, calming but long lasting scents (beachy leaning during warm weather but gourmand during cold weather). My job at the military base can be quite stressful. I need all the help I can get.
I would put Gourmand Coquin on my list, because it smells like chocolate, but it is just a little bit sweet, a tiny bit, it is like a fine dark chocolate, not too sweet that smells like food that you wanna eat right away.
Absolutely! And I just picked up a bottle over the summer and I’m babying it. It’s hard to find and get that’s why I left it off the list but you are 100% correct. ❤️🥰
I assumed that is why you didn’t put it on the list. I hope to get my bottle, it has been three weeks since I have spoken with Steven from Place Vendome and he said it could take a couple of months. I hope they’ll get it on stock, even if it’s in february or march. I’ll be so disappointed if it didn’t come. I got myself another decant of 10 ml, but I won’t be able to find another one since no one wants to decant it anymore, they all treasure their bottles. :))
HI Chris! This is a category I am just not sure of. I am scanning my collection in my mind and I am not sure if I own any gourmands at all. Is 100 Silent ways one? How about Lolita Land? They are super sweet to my nose but not really foody. I guess I really don't know what gourmand is unless it smells like cake, milkshakes, marshmallow or chocolate. In those cases I wouldn't be a fan but those you showed look really interesting, I will say that! oxJulia
Hi there! Yes a gourmand is classically something that smells like literal food (or drink). Something realistically edible. I would call HSW a gorgeous floral vanilla. ❤️❤️
Gateway gourmand is a great concept...I keep buying gourmands thinking I am a gourmand lover and half the time I don't like them, including Buontalenti, ufff, not for me. But I love Hiram Green's Slow Dive (honey) and Moon Bloom (coconut), Fueguia Xocoalti, Gourmand Coquin, etc etc. I have been putting off Frassai for so long bc I couldn't not stand Blondine, but just caved and ordered Tiensenddu and Tian Di as they've been on my wish list forever. Have you tried Tian Di?
I love those Hiram Green you mention and Gourmand Couquin…I almost had it on the list but it’s so difficult and such a nightmare to find and purchase but it’s an awesome gateway gourmand. So true! ❤️

If you can’t get a sample….forget about it. This is a love or hate. When I can’t find a sample or perfume I’m obsessing over….i move on. It’s the universe saying don’t waste your time and money. There will always be another perfume

Helle Beautiful! You know I struggle with too gourmand so keeping this video as a reference! 😉
Lol!!! ❤️❤️
Hello Chris,
I am super curious about Blanche Bête, Lost Alice and the Frassai fragrances. I recently got Santal Austral and agree about the performance. I want to check out more from the house of Matiere Premiere. Thanks for your video! - Jenn
Hi Jenn! Matiere offers a nice exploratory set.
Ooh, I have to try Lush fragrances. American cream sounds lovely.
There are some reals gems at Lush….I love some and some are NOT for me. 😉🤍So something for everyone.
@@ThePerfumeNest I can't wait to see what you found for a smell-alike! I'll let you know what I chose, thank you, Chris.
I have a sample of Lost Alice coming in my Luckyscent order and I’m very excited!!!
Oh exciting. It’s very fun and interesting! ❤️
@@ThePerfumeNest update: I bought it.....
@@danielledifusco771 ok. Hopefully you sampled cause it’s not for everyone. ❤️😉
Delicious great idea video 😋!
Thank you love. 🥰
I get the exact same thing from BDK Rouge Smoking. The cherry is in the background but it is definitely cherry root beer float on me
Yes!!😁🥰🙌So my nose isn’t broken? 😉🤣
I've really been getting into cardamom! How similar would you say Minuit et Demi is to Lune Feline or Penhaligon's Changing Constance?
Hi there! Not very similar to Lune Feline but VERY similar to Changing Constance
My mom makes Amish Friendship bread but adds her own twist! Yum!!!
Aw!!!! What twist? I actually looked up the recipe while I edited this video last night. I think I’ll get started on it. Good memories….
@@ThePerfumeNest she adds some spices from home & won’t tell me exactly what… but I know she sometimes adds Chocolate Chips in it for my little one.
Ah…gourmand lover eh?? Good to know! I wonder if it can be made with gluten free flour??? 🤔It’s simple yet delicious. ❤️
@@ThePerfumeNest I’m definitely into cozy, calming but long lasting scents (beachy leaning during warm weather but gourmand during cold weather). My job at the military base can be quite stressful. I need all the help I can get.
@@tdsollog I hear you. 🥰I reach for the same kind also.
@@ThePerfumeNest I knew I “vibed with you” for a reason or two. 😎
@@tdsollog 🥰
Hey Love 💕 Catching up 😅😘
Well welcome Dahling! 🤣
@@ThePerfumeNest 🤩😂💖
These all sound amazing. I love my heavy gourmands but wouldn't mind some that are not so foody.
I’m with you. I love my “snacky” gourmands but like something less when it’s not super cold. 🥰
Ups Chris is going more woody way even with vanillas. Way to go lol
Lol!! 🥰😂
Santal Austral is so nice, but I ended up with Encens Suave...Mature Premiere is a great house!
I love the house. You’ll see Encens Suave in a video soon and I have three from the house…want more out pacing myself. 😁🤍
So true! ❤️
Oh and yes. Tian Di was my third favorite in the house. I bought the Discovery Set before I had a channel.
Hi Chris!! Super fun video, a few I know :-) interested to try Pure Perle...have you tried the newest Lush fragrance, Turmeric Latte? It's yummy!! 😘😍💗💞💙💜💛
Oh my word!!! Do I need to? 😆
@@ThePerfumeNest I tried it at the store a few weeks ago and loved it, it's been out of stock but they just got it back :-) it's yummy, comforting, holidays vibe! I'm getting the small one lol
Smoking Rouge 😬🍒❌ Not for me. It smells like the traditionel Christmas Eve dessert in Denmark 🎄🍧😂 Witch I love love to eat!! You would too 😉 I just don’t want to smell like it 😝
Ah! So it smells like a root beer float?! 😂
Thank you for the video! Do you think Minuit et Demi is suitable for men? :)
Absolutely! BUT I would say it leans feminine. A man who loves gourmands??? Absolutely!!!!
@@ThePerfumeNest Oh nice I'm a gourmand lover☺I remember you said it has soft projection so do you think it can be worn in summer nights? 🙂
I need to try Lost Alice 🤩
You do love your iris. Do you like ambrette? My memory says yes?????🤔
@@ThePerfumeNest Your memory serves you right 😘
🤗😘lots of love 💞and respect 🙏and greetings 👋from me🦋 in Amsterdam🐞 the Netherlands 🇳🇱
Aw!!! Thank you Mereyem!! Big hug!! 🥰🥰
@@ThePerfumeNest 🤗😘
I remember the friendship bread and it was very tasty!
Yass!!!! You also! I even looked up the recipe yesterday to get it started again…….but it’s like a never ending cycle …😂
@@ThePerfumeNest that’s the only thing about it, you have to keep it going and after awhile you over it!
Hello my beautiful friend! First I will call myself out on Blanche Bete and Pure Pearl😂🤣 Then I will add Chinotto Gourmand by Abaton Bros….a really nice citrus from the Chinotto fruit with a little caramel….not too foody imo .
😆😆So yep….you know! 🥰🥰🥰🥰
I think you sent me a sample card from Abaton Bros but if I remember it was woody…🤔Or I could be loosing my mind. 😁❤️
@@ThePerfumeNest it may have been the other Chinotto fragrances…there are two others besides gourmand.
@@susanbohm3601 did you ever tell me what you thought of Blanche? I know if I got white florals you MUST have..😉❤️
@@ThePerfumeNest yup! Too white floral for me, but with that said ,one of the better white florals.
For some weird reason I smelled soap when I sampled the Rouge Smoking
🤣Root beer soap?? 😉❤️Isn’t it funny how it’s different what we pick up?
I HAVE a love for gourmand, I like to smell frags that smell like food, but not always smell like food
I know you do! Your collection is mind blowing! I think I need Minnie Mouse in my life….❤️
@@ThePerfumeNest Minnie is beautiful! My cupcake already has a small dent in it.😂🤣
💞💞💞💞💞💞
🥰🥰
Have you tried Love & Crime?
Yes!!
I really want to blind buy Blanche bete, cause here where I live, it’s difficult to find a sample to try out first. But somehow, I saw so many creepy stuff about the brand in other channels, I was like… “lol, do I want to give more money to stuff like that “ “can I just purchase it and think “fuck this, is just a fragrance” or what should I think about all that s*h&t. 😂 and until now, I have no idea wheat should I do
If you can’t get a sample….forget about it. This is a love or hate. When I can’t find a sample or perfume I’m obsessing over….i move on. It’s the universe saying don’t waste your time and money. There will always be another perfume
@@ThePerfumeNest I guess your video and now your answer, was exactly what I needed to “click” at this point and really move on with this one. What you said makes totally sense to me
Haha, I'm a kid from the 60s
Yay! You must be very very cool! Well…of course you are! 🙌🥰❤️
@@ThePerfumeNest Aw, thnx Chris

I find Blanche bete vomit inducing 🤢
Yes those lactonic are a love or hate. Hopefully you didn’t buy the full bottle? 😬
