    This is absolutely brilliant. Perfect pace, and no annoying music. Not only don't I know nothing about how a shed is normally built and I know nothing about sketchup. Now I got a good insight into both. I'm gonna go out and build that shed I've been wanting to build for a while, and while I'm at it, why not a mansion too. This really opened up.

    Brilliant. Way better than fumbling around with no idea how it works. Much appreciated.

    Very good tutorial. Your pace, intonation and the amount of explanation is spot on. I used SketchUp years ago when it was stand alone software and need a refresher. I looked at a few other RUclips videos before yours, but found exactly what I needed when I came across your Structure Design. I also enjoyed all of your other presentations. Thank you. Note: I could use help in 3D Warehouse.

    I've only watched the first 3 minutes, and can honestly say this is one of the best tutorials I've ever seen since everything is clearly explained and easy to follow.

    That was great! My only comment as someone who is seeing this for the first time is to maybe explain/show the keyboard/on screen tools you select more slowly. I still need to rewatch with the program open in front of me and maybe it will make more sense then. Thank you for posting this!

    Brilliant video, i’ve learnt so much from this about how to do things properly using copy etc. I’ve already started using these new skills for my own shed project and it’s already much better than anything i have done previously. Thanks so much, excellent pace, and I love the keyboard shortcuts. I’m slightly confused by “option” for move-copy, but i have found that the CTRL key seems to toggle to copy mode, so assume that’s what you mean.

    • @CWebbTutorials

      “Option” is for Mac users, “CTRL” for Windows

    On windows I'm having trouble copy moving, alt doesn't work. Are they any other keyboard shortcuts to copy move please?

    • @CWebbTutorials
      @CWebbTutorials  7 месяцев назад +1

      I believe CTRL is the key to use with the Move tool on Windows. I had it wrong in the video.

    Is this in the Free edition? I can't find the option choice while using the Free edition. Other than that I plan on practicing these instructions until I get bored and then move onto the the next stage. I can see this opening the door.

    • @CWebbTutorials
      @CWebbTutorials  Год назад

      Hey Jonathan, I just made a video showing how to find your component list. I don't know of a more printer friendly way, other than copying the material from the list as shown. Here's the video: ruclips.net/video/tfBi7UBiujs/видео.html

    On a real note, with all the things you showed us in this video, can this be done with go or pro versions?

    • @CWebbTutorials
      @CWebbTutorials  Год назад

      I have not used the Go version, but every bit of this can be done with the Pro version.

  • @killaklinck
    @killaklinck Год назад

    Can’t seem to duplicate it, I get a white box instead of the green plus sign and it just moves it instead of copying. And even if I manually select copy and paste it it seems to be cutting and pasting. Is this only if you pay?

    These are by far the best tutorials I've been able to follow along with. However, I keep getting stuck early on at the very first floor joist. When I go to triple-click on it, it highlights the skids along with it. Started over three times now and getting the same results. I tried to right-click and do a selection of just the joist but was still not able to just select the joist. Any suggestions?

    • @lomiataniuatui7953
      @lomiataniuatui7953 11 месяцев назад

      Suggestion: make the joist (and everything else including the skids (we call in these parts 'bearer') a 'component'; then it will not be highlighted. Hope this helps.

    Can anyone offer advice on 3d software sketchup. I’m planning an irregular shaped garden room to match the shape of my garden. The front wall of the room will be 10 ft wide and the back wall will be 4ft wide. Is it possible to design an odd shaped garden room with sketchup??

    • @CWebbTutorials

    I don't know what you all are using but the move tool using Alt never works, it just drags the face of the selected object and changes its size instead of moving a copy of it.

    Just a suggestion, You could avoid type all these number by simply snapping to corner of already created objects!

    • @BillyStanley
      @BillyStanley Год назад

      He did demonstrate that, but prefers the numbers. I prefer the move & snap, myself, with click instead of drag, so I can select exact points for alignment while zooming in/out.

    turn off Perspective, grab mid point of the joist, I do approve of the use of Components rather than groups. However, I'd make it a Comp before Paint or P/P (saves some clicks), Make the plywood sheetacross the surface of the subfloor rather than vertical. You are relying on keying data in rather than allowing SU to do the math. And Yeah, I can be critical, I have the background to allow it.
