ESR seems to have really stepped up their game since the IPhone X days. Use to have one of their cases for that phone and the case would break repeatedly!
I got the Torras ring case. It's built in giant ring can swing at almost ANY angle, vertical or horizontal. The ESR ring around the camera is limited on the vertical. Also the Torras ring is so strong, it can stick to fridge, workout equipment, etc.

I have the little lanyard quick disconnects which allow me to remove or change attachments on my phone case. Found them at a camera store. Casekoo or ESR Hybrid look like winners.
Hey Tech Up! love your video this is the most detailed, carefully planned clear case review I've ever seen. Just a heads up, ESR also has a clear case called krystec, I'm using both the hybrid and the krystec and the krystec is miles better. They're very similar to apple's Polycarbonate case, but with floating buttons and cover for the bottom. Have a look.
@@JoshB-zc5jb so after 7 months of usage, they're very faint colour change on the top edge as that is where the TPU material is. The side edge and back plate, buttons, are all PC so no they didn't yellow on those places.
I wanted to get the Magbak case since you said it can stick to other metal objects (I primarily want to be able to video gym workouts by sticking it to the metal equipment). My only question is, does it matter for the Magbak if I get the clear case or one of their color options in terms of sticking power or anything?
Brian that’s a good question. I did test their silicone version the first time I made this type of video and it was almost just as strong as the clear version. However from the tests it looks like the clear one offered stronger magnets based off the magnetic readings but in terms of sticking power and grip I would have to say the silicone version was better. Definitely grippier... The clear case is smoother (glassy). Hope that helps but generally the magnets are almost the same on both.👍

i wanted a magnetic case for the gym too and got the magbak in black. it stuck to a squat rack perfectly, but it lifted my screen protector immediately. i emailed magbak, they sent me a new SP (which was a lot cheaper than my previous one), i followed their instructions (they said put the case on first then the screen, which means you have to free hand it), and the case STILL lifted the screen. i’m currently waiting to hear back from them about all this. i really want to use the case, it stuck to everything in the gym great, but it’s no good to me if i can’t have a screen protector with it.
@@tommyt6961 Get a better screen protector. The universally #1 rates Dome glass is GLUED on. That thing won't lift. Also makes sure you lodge into the case where the buttons are FIRST for less friction.
Thanks for the video. I have a mous case now and I like the case design and protection but the MagSafe was what I bought a new iPhone for and the MagSafe on the mous is very weak. Im going to order the ESR as it has a similar design to the mous but hopefully has a much better MagSafe connection.
ESR has a much better magsafe connection when it comes down to magnetic strength. I would definitely recommend their cases especially this one in this video👍
Alex, yes the phone rebel gen 4 case would be a perfect case for a magnetic car mount charger. In my next video that I’m uploading this week I’ll be featuring their clear case and it has a really strong magnetic ring on the case. So it’s going to be great for these car chargers. 👍
Pitaka cases have a strong magnet. The MagSafe charger slams against the case when hovering the phone over an inch above the charger. Its also much more resistent when removing the charger. Almost glued on
Really tempted to buy the Rhinoshield clear, probably the best clear case option with a strong MagSafe magnet? However kinda concerned about that camera ring, does it come off too easily? How has your experience been? Also would’ve preferred a black MagSafe ring tbh to go better with the graphite
Rajat the rhinoshield case that I reviewed definitely has a stronger magnet compared to the Apple and Casekoo case in the review. The magnet on it is stronger than your average case. As for the camera ring there’s a lot of color options and it’s easy to take off. I didn’t review that in detail but I had no issues with taking it off or putting it on. However, putting the case on and taking it off the iPhone is a challenge like I mentioned in the video. It’s got a really tight fit.
Rajat, DO NOT BUY the Rhinishield case, they’re so damn slippery it’s as though they want you to drop your phone often. Super uncomfortable in hand. I bought one with the removable buttons and everything. Highly disappointed. A waste of good money. Will be trying out the ESR case instead. I really wanted rhinoshield to be the case for me. Cool name and all lol.
Rajat, I agree with suhailagha on some of those points about the Rhinoshield. If I were to give you a honest opinion of their case…it’s not a case I would recommend when compared to the magbak or esr in this review. I personally thought the buttons were the best on the rhinoshield, but I reviewed it mainly for its magnetic strength as they really emphasized how strong their magnets are on the back of their cases. Aside from that, the rhinoshield and Apple cases were my least favorite because of how slippery they are but if you’re a fan of clear cases I could see why it could be something you’re interested in. I’ll definitely plan on reviewing more clear case options next year to really see which clear case might be better but I wouldnt include rhinoshield. 😏

I got one from Amazon for 20 pounds and the first time I tried to take it off my MagSafe stand I almost ripped the cord out the wall !!! This takes the “safe” out of mag safe. One good thing is my MagSafe wallet is solid.
So the new iPhone 14s offer more magnetic strength than the iPhone 13 models. My iPhone 14 Pro Max gets close to an average of 40 mT on my gaussmeter reader and from what I recall my iPhone 13 Pro Max got 30 mT. Now with a case depending on how good the magnets are on it…it can really boost the magnetic strength. It just depends on what case you get but realistically on average a case with magsafe or a magnetic ring on it should offer well over 5 mT more but like with these cases it can offer 25 to 50 mT more in strength. Yes, I have tested the Spigen cases. I have a video on several of them here: ruclips.net/video/wiTvsRvdxJ0/видео.html if you’re deciding between a clear spigen or rhinoshield case I would go with spigen. They’re ultra hybrid case is better than the rhino shield clear case.
@@jeychen9750 personally I’m not to fond of the Apple clear case since it has a really slippery grip. Plus the bottom part of the case is exposed so it doesn’t offer the best protection. Out of this review, I would go with the magbak case followed by the Apple and rhinoshield case when it comes down to ranking these clear cases. However, I prefer the other Apple cases (silicone and leather) more. Hope that helps 👍

I’m about to buy on of these, but don’t u think that the “fake MagSafe” magnet is gonna ruin battery or other components like the cameras? (Maybe because isn’t perfectly centred, or something like this)
So I’ve been using magsafe cases for my iPhone since it was announced and I’ve had no issues that you’re concerned with. It hasn’t affect my camera or battery at all.
I’ve been using magsafe wallets that magnetically attach to the back of my iPhone for years and I haven’t come across any of my cards getting damaged as a result. 👍 Hope my perspective helps.
It’s probably not a problem with the frosted backs, but did you get any air bubbles over the apple logo with the ESR case? I picked up the CASEKOO (clear black) and the ESR hybrid (clear black) to compare. I really prefer the ESR case, but I keep getting an air bubble if I put any slight pressure over the center back of of my phone when installed. I noticed the CASEKOO actually has a micro dot texture on the inside to prevent this.
I actually didn’t get any air bubbles on this esr case and Casekoo case, but I reviewed the frosted black models. Maybe the black clear model may have this issue on the esr case?. Anyways I did get air bubbles on the magbak clear case near the bumpers and edges in this review as well as on the moft snap clear case that I reviewed several videos ago but with the Casekoo and esr cases I haven’t had any. Possibly frosted is a better option to not experience this? Also I did prefer the esr case over the Casekoo as well. I think its a more well rounded case with features and a nicer finish.
Have a question, having these very strong magnets in these cases, will they not affect the magsafe or any camera sensors in the iphone due to strong magnetic field??
So over the past couple of years using the strong magnets in any of the cases that I used I haven’t noticed any affects to my iPhones camera sensors or any part of my iPhone in general. This question has been asked previously in the past and nothings changed on my iPhones since I answered it last time👍
I think the Apple silicone ones are the strongest in my opinion. Due to the friction of the material. My MagSafe wallet rarely ever slides off in comparison to my mous and native union cases. Just more peace of mind

The Mous Limitless offers rigid impact protection tech called Airoshock with a series of 8 different types of backplate finishes. While the MagBak offers 3 color options in a silicone lined case and one in a clear case option. It also comes packed with the strongest magnet on the back of the case when compared to really any other case on the market. Plus it packs raised corners for absorbing drops. But it will really come down to whether you want a case with the strongest magnets in it while leaving a ton of fingerprints on it (MagBak) or a protective but fairly bulky case with your own personal taste in style (Limitless). Good question, I’ve tested the magnetic strength on it before and the magnet on the new iPhone 14s are stronger now compared to the previous models. I got an average max gaussmeter reading of 40 mT on my iPhone 14 Pro Max and the reading on my 13 Pro Max was lower when I tested it out back then when I was using it. However, magsafe cases will usually increase the magnetic strength for accessories that you add to it but some may not really offer that much magnetic strength depending on what kinda case you get.
@@suhailagha8270 it does flex a bit but not as much compared to the Casekoo case that I also reviewed in the video. Both had the same build quality but ESRs flexed a little less. I’d say it offers less flex and better drop protection than another standard case with this type of build quality. Personally, it was my favorite case out of all of these in this review. 👍
So I haven’t tested the caudabe sheath case yet but when compared to these that I’ve shown in the video my friend has one and when I gave him my moft snap case he noticed a huge difference between them with the moft case offering a stronger magnetic ring. The magbak and esr case in this video along with the ones I mentioned Ghostek, Rokform and the moft snap case seem to offer stronger magnets than that case. As for the other features of caudabe sheath case I wouldn’t know what there like but I’m definitely considering reviewing the Caudabe line up of cases soon. 👍
@@thedears5 the point of it is being able to attach any magsafe devices you might have, to the back of the phone, like iPhone can. Charges or magnetic car holders, wallets and battery packs. That's why it's nice to have a case that allows these options, on an Android phone.

Stronger magnet isn’t necessarily better. The main reason this is because if you have a magsafe puck and want to take it off it becomes a nightmare. Especially for me personally in the morning when i see my phone is charged and my fingers are sort of weak. Tried ESR Halo Lock case clear and taking off the puck is a pain and I don’t want that every single morning. There is a reason why apples magnets arent super strong. Even with a magsafe battery pack like apples it’s a little hard to remove.
Gomez yeah you’re right about magsafe being a pain in the morning when removing your phone off of it with a strong magsafe case like ESRs Halo Lock clear case but for some out there like myself who use a good amount of magsafe accessories its nice when you have a case that packs stronger magnets to hold these accessories firmly in place without having them move or easily fall off. Everyone’s got a different opinion but there’s definitely pros and cons with stronger magnets 😉
bro no one shakes their phone like that with the battery connected to it...a better test would have been trying to lift the phone with the MagSafe charger connected to see if it holds the weight of the phone or not...and for a more real world test would be to have the magnet strength tested in the car on a rocky and normal roads.
Tried bunch of these. Ghostek Atomic Slim has best magsafe strength by a mile follower by very expensive Rokform case. The UAG mag strength is very weak , Otterbox Defender Xt is weakest mainstream one worse than even most of cheapo Chinese Amazon junk. Apple cases is similair to the weker onee not worth ite price. The biggest disappointment is the UAG Monarch and Pathfinder cases which are great cases otherwise expect they dropped the ball badly and have weak magnets for such expensive cases

Rhinoshield is the best case ive ever had, strongest magnet, and NEVER broke my phone from 100s of drops. Period every other case ive had has done nothing for protection except otterbox, yet rhinoshield does it without having to look like a literal BRICK🧱

I’ve been using magsafe wallets that magnetically attach to the back of my iPhone for years and I haven’t come across any of my cards getting damaged as a result. 👍 Hope my perspective helps.
It’s probably not a problem with the frosted backs, but did you get any air bubbles over the apple logo with the ESR case? I picked up the CASEKOO (clear black) and the ESR hybrid (clear black) to compare. I really prefer the ESR case, but I keep getting an air bubble if I put any slight pressure over the center back of of my phone when installed. I noticed the CASEKOO actually has a micro dot texture on the inside to prevent this.
I actually didn’t get any air bubbles on this esr case and Casekoo case, but I reviewed the frosted black models. Maybe the black clear model may have this issue on the esr case?. Anyways I did get air bubbles on the magbak clear case near the bumpers and edges in this review as well as on the moft snap clear case that I reviewed several videos ago but with the Casekoo and esr cases I haven’t had any. Possibly frosted is a better option to not experience this? Also I did prefer the esr case over the Casekoo as well. I think its a more well rounded case with features and a nicer finish.

Have a question, having these very strong magnets in these cases, will they not affect the magsafe or any camera sensors in the iphone due to strong magnetic field??
So over the past couple of years using the strong magnets in any of the cases that I used I haven’t noticed any affects to my iPhones camera sensors or any part of my iPhone in general. This question has been asked previously in the past and nothings changed on my iPhones since I answered it last time👍

I think the Apple silicone ones are the strongest in my opinion. Due to the friction of the material. My MagSafe wallet rarely ever slides off in comparison to my mous and native union cases. Just more peace of mind

No, I have yet to try out Mous’s clarity cases. I’ve only tested their limitless cases but I’m sure I’ll test them out soon 👌

@@DrCisco the Mous Limitless has more materials in it compared to the MagBak case. However both offer good protection. The Mous Limitless offers rigid impact protection tech called Airoshock with a series of 8 different types of backplate finishes. While the MagBak offers 3 color options in a silicone lined case and one in a clear case option. It also comes packed with the strongest magnet on the back of the case when compared to really any other case on the market. Plus it packs raised corners for absorbing drops. But it will really come down to whether you want a case with the strongest magnets in it while leaving a ton of fingerprints on it (MagBak) or a protective but fairly bulky case with your own personal taste in style (Limitless). How strong are the magnets on the iPhone itself tho?
Good question, I’ve tested the magnetic strength on it before and the magnet on the new iPhone 14s are stronger now compared to the previous models. I got an average max gaussmeter reading of 40 mT on my iPhone 14 Pro Max and the reading on my 13 Pro Max was lower when I tested it out back then when I was using it. However, magsafe cases will usually increase the magnetic strength for accessories that you add to it but some may not really offer that much magnetic strength depending on what kinda case you get.

Most likely the ESR, does it flex a lot? And will it provide a decent amount of drop protection?
@@suhailagha8270 it does flex a bit but not as much compared to the Casekoo case that I also reviewed in the video. Both had the same build quality but ESRs flexed a little less. I’d say it offers less flex and better drop protection than another standard case with this type of build quality. Personally, it was my favorite case out of all of these in this review. 👍

Good question! Not that I’m aware of from individually testing all these out! 👍

So I haven’t tested the caudabe sheath case yet but when compared to these that I’ve shown in the video my friend has one and when I gave him my moft snap case he noticed a huge difference between them with the moft case offering a stronger magnetic ring. The magbak and esr case in this video along with the ones I mentioned Ghostek, Rokform and the moft snap case seem to offer stronger magnets than that case. As for the other features of caudabe sheath case I wouldn’t know what there like but I’m definitely considering reviewing the Caudabe line up of cases soon. 👍

@@thedears5 the point of it is being able to attach any magsafe devices you might have, to the back of the phone, like iPhone can. Charges or magnetic car holders, wallets and battery packs. That's why it's nice to have a case that allows these options, on an Android phone.

I’m planning on reviewing their lineup of cases very soon! But I’ve tested a few of them already and they don’t have the strongest magnets on them btw. That’s why they weren’t listed in this video.
Stronger magnet isn’t necessarily better. The main reason this is because if you have a magsafe puck and want to take it off it becomes a nightmare. Especially for me personally in the morning when i see my phone is charged and my fingers are sort of weak. Tried ESR Halo Lock case clear and taking off the puck is a pain and I don’t want that every single morning. There is a reason why apples magnets arent super strong. Even with a magsafe battery pack like apples it’s a little hard to remove.
Gomez yeah you’re right about magsafe being a pain in the morning when removing your phone off of it with a strong magsafe case like ESRs Halo Lock clear case but for some out there like myself who use a good amount of magsafe accessories its nice when you have a case that packs stronger magnets to hold these accessories firmly in place without having them move or easily fall off. Everyone’s got a different opinion but there’s definitely pros and cons with stronger magnets 😉

bro no one shakes their phone like that with the battery connected to it...a better test would have been trying to lift the phone with the MagSafe charger connected to see if it holds the weight of the phone or not...and for a more real world test would be to have the magnet strength tested in the car on a rocky and normal roads.

Tried bunch of these. Ghostek Atomic Slim has best magsafe strength by a mile follower by very expensive Rokform case. The UAG mag strength is very weak , Otterbox Defender Xt is weakest mainstream one worse than even most of cheapo Chinese Amazon junk. Apple cases is similair to the weker onee not worth ite price. The biggest disappointment is the UAG Monarch and Pathfinder cases which are great cases otherwise expect they dropped the ball badly and have weak magnets for such expensive cases

Rhinoshield is the best case ive ever had, strongest magnet, and NEVER broke my phone from 100s of drops. Period every other case ive had has done nothing for protection except otterbox, yet rhinoshield does it without having to look like a literal BRICK🧱
