There are few not so practical armors for men. And about roles switches I did read pseudomanga called Swordprinces Amaltea in where guys were dressing into gowns, looking as pretty as possible and were vane and very much treated similar manner by manly women than what one could assume and expect typical cis men to do and in that manga it did work. Some other things, like one of the baddies, they had been dressed up all too modern clothing when considering that it took place in medieval fantasy world. -Also there wasn't really much personality in her. In modern day socienty people get labelled too masculine and too femine for really stupid reasons and I wonder how much marketing industry has to play in that stupidity. Another as stupid thing are assumed and forced genderroles as this and that is how person needs to be and behave in order to be gender ( slap whatever here ) while gender and gender behavior isn't just either or and every person sets somewhere along that line. Also, while back in history guys were dressing up in pink, high heels, frills, wigs, makeup and into as peacocky as possible as that was the fashion of that era. And these days someone gets bullied for having either too short or too long hair... it's just hair. =...=
