I always feel sorry for Carlsen's opponents. Those last six or seven moves were painless, the white queen was on a grand journey which unfolded in what appeared to be a effortless win. That's the beauty and genius of Magnus. He as the ability to transform complicated positions and simplefy them into winning endings. The infiltration of the C file is good example of his build up play.
You know, @user-nr7ig6dt2d, it's very hard to accept for an Elite player (meaning, over 2,700 ELO), that the most they will achieve against Carlsen is to win a game or two, but, deep down, you know two things: (1) In a close match of 20 games against Carlsen, regardless of the format, Carlsen will surely crush you. (2) They will never be able to even reach 25% of the long and bulging list of achievements that Carlsen has managed to accumulate throughout his career as the best chess player in all of modern history. So, what is left for the rest of the chess players on planet Earth? To the Elite, they can be content with saying, I beat Carlsen in the year XXXX, and that will be part of the anecdote they will tell their grandchildren, and to the rest of us mortals, they can make comments like yours on RUclips... To be fair it was dead even late in game, but the mounting pressure on the C file led to the opponent making a bad queen move. I guess you could call that 'fixing the weakness of cramped pieces', but it was technically even til then. Then Magnus exploited the bad move.

He's just trying to get to a playable middlegame where he can outplay his opponent. Also he sits back in the opening to allow more flexibility to punish overaggressive play.
I assume you either mean c8 or b7. Taking the pawn on b7 wasn't exactly bad but it could lead complications after Rc1+, Kh2 and then black could get some prepetual checks attempt or at least a counterattack with e4 push. If Rxc8 was what you meant, then it simply releases the tension and gives Black an opportunity to improve the misplaced bishop also losing grip on the weak pawns.
To show who has won. If both kings are on white, white has won. If both are on black, black has won. If the kings are on their own colour then it's a draw.
How do chess players get ratings? For example, Magnus here is 2888. Is this because of wins and losses he has accumulated over his whole career or just this tornament?
His whole career. It's his FIDE blitz rating which is a consistent value that can change depending on his performance throughout the rated blitz tournaments he competed in his career. For each rated game he plays during the tournaments he gains or loses rating which changes the value.
Just finished a tournament elsewhere in europe iirc. Maybe the schedule would have been too tough. Don't forget that he is mainly a streamer which also eats a lot of time. Last tournament he played in he did a recap of all of his matches AND covered Levy's games in a different tournament AND did recaps of various Kramnik and Niemann games. At some point you just need a break.
