This is so close to my biscuits! When my children were young (about 30 years ago) my middle son would always ask me to make my square biscuits! 😆 It still brings me such joy to remember that! And I always made homemade chicken and dumplings. It would take a few hours to sit and roll every tiny little flour dumpling! My son would always ask for "tablets"! 😆 He loved my chicken and tablets!!!❤ Now that I'm older I like the flat dumplings so much better. But my tiny dumplings were not like the canned biscuits that most people use today. The dumplings need to be very compact and small. Only adding a handful at a time onto the boiling water. Stirring after each drop. Let simmer or boil for another 3 minutes before adding the next handful of dumplings or tablets.😊❤
Tamibell rolling out the dough in strips flat strips is how I made my dumplings sometimes when the kids left home I would use canned biscuits,I have tried Annie's the frozen but they were always rubbery I think the home made strips cook so much quicker than the frozen and I was afraid of over cooking or they would stick but I still luv them
They look awesome! To avoid having to re-work your dough after cutting, once you have them patted into a rectangle, use your dough scraper and cut them into squares.

@SandyGsKitchen No problem. I haven't had much success in the store bought kind. It always seems too bland and weak, and I like spicy lol. I'll have to learn how to make my own it's so good, especially paired with cream cheese.
@@barbra429 I def need to learn how to make some. My old boss used to make some with habanero peppers and raspberries. OMG it was so delicious. This will be my new project having to search for a recipe that is nice and sweet and spicy. I know what you mean about the store brought. It’s so much better making your own because you know what is in there.
You sure can! If you want to omit the lard, and I’ve done it and it comes out great! Use 1 whole stick of butter. Let me know how it comes out. I’m sure they will be amazing. Don’t forget to brush both sides with butter when they are done. Love biscuits so much. Thank you for supporting my channel.
I was doing some research and found that you can purchase White Lily Flour that is unbleached if it is your preference. I just learned this today. It is non gmo. Hope that helps. Have a wonderful weekend.

It is enriched bleached flour and it is not genetically modified. I hope this helps.
