What are you talking about? I store my AR-15 next to my 1911 magazines with a bunch of .30-06 for my m1 garand next to it. Half a mile away in a storage unit is my M1 garand with my .45ACP rounds. My M1 garand clips are in my kitchen, above the stove and next to the whiskey and 5,000 round brick of .22lr.

They did, BI are the reason the game is in a much more stable state, with better performance less bugs and polished features/content
Lot of the modders applaud BI mainly for the bulk of the work being done, (especially when it comes to suggesting tweaks/fixes to the mod tools, API, and more)

I always had a soft spot for DayZ. Despite how broken the game is/was, I loved the concept and I loved goofing around with friends, taking people hostage, and teaming up with random dudes, but the problem was that I rarely got to do any of that.

The problem with standalone was the damn devs like Dean Hall. I had a couple emails and forum posts back in the day as a tester where I was worried about the direction the game was headed. I said that the game had lost its way and become too much of a chore to play and was overly complicated. I also said the game was a shooter/builder first and a survival game second. His response was that dayz was a survival sim pure and simple and that's why he made the scrounging so hard and the transfusions requiring the right blood type. It was at that point I knew the game would fail. I'm glad to see the game is back in the hands of modders that will bring it back to glory.

Soooo, the devs basically outsourced the continued development of the game to the modding community because they were incapable of salvaging the fucking dumpster-fire they started? And the community was able to do what the devs were unable to in several years of development in like, 6 months? And despite that, people are gonna see the steady rise in popularity of this game as a result of the community's efforts and that's gonna lead directly to more sales, which will go to a developer so incompetent that I wouldn't even have let them pay me to play their shitty game before the community fixed it? That's pretty wild.

But are you serious about DayZ being fixed by community? Did DayZ community fix those bugs? Did DayZ community implement new character controls, new digestion system, new base building, new disease system, new car movement rendering? I hope you are just joking :D
DayZ community, modders to be precise, add just more content which may not even be optimized and may cause server stability issues - like those new cars and tons of new weapons. The core of the game is developed solely by Bohemia and it is enjoyable and relatively bug-free.
Let's thank Bohemia for holding on to their promise, for keeping the development alive for such a long time, despite all the negativity and hate and let's hope they reimplement all the good stuff like fractures and other diseases as soon as possible.

Nothing conveys fragilness of human life as fractures and diseases - states which leave you in a weakened condition which in turn calls either for an act of kindness from others or for mustering of every ounce of your own strength to overcome the odds.
Also by robbing you of your abilities (to walk or hold a gun) the game reduces you as a player to an almost powerless state and you have to admit that that is very rare in gaming industry, obsessed with fulfilling every player's power fantasy possible.
So yes, I find it enjoyable to struggle in a survival game - don't you?

Dayz is still honest trash, even though this is a year old. But I can't believe this game was fucking unplayable for 4 to 5 years, straight fukng years of unplayable spawn die, spawn die, find a rifle with shot gun ammo in one house and never find rifle ammo or that shotgun. To be honest this games era has moved on. Even it's competitor H1Z1 at the time became a BR game and now no longer exists. Think about that. Dayz is the failed Cap America of survival games.
How is DayZ failed if its competitors crashed and burned and no longer exist? DayZ exists and is growing strong to this day. So called "good games" like Among Us and Fall Guys could only dream of having a game that was as interesting enough to have a consistently larger player base. DayZ frequently pulls in more players than games like Cyberpunk, SCUM, Unturned (a survival game that's FREE by the way), ArmA 3, The Forest, and of course the DayZ mod itself. A quick youtube search will show you a side by side comparison of the DayZ mod and DayZ standalone and it's no contest: DayZ standalone is a far better experience and more stable game. That's not even subjective to say DayZ standalone is more complete, and you'd be hard pressed to find anything not in the game that the devs haven't promised.
Your expectations were either :
A): unrealistic
or
B): a game that clearly wasn't made for you
I'd be willing to bet it's the former here, another person that wants to find any reason to hate on something just because they don't like it. It's fine if you don't like something, but just go ahead and say that. You don't have to go on about how you're bad at videogames and don't understand the complexity of some and make baseless claims towards a game that hasn't done anything wrong.
DayZ will continue to grow and succeed long after this comment ages terribly, and all of the comments similar to it.

I don't know how your car won't twitch around like it usually does. When playing with 10 ppl, it's fine but after 20 people or higher online it gets so twitchy and jerky, its dangerous to drive around.
