Wow, you are the first reviewer of this type of hybrid cookware to actually have common sense about what they are and, especially, what they are not. You are correct that they are not true nonstick pans. Yes, you do need to use butter or oil when cooking in them, as you pointed out. Congratulations on doing an honest, reasonable review.

I have stainless-steel, Cast-Iron skillet and wok and lastly a carbon wok. The majority of people don't know how to season a pan.

Because of the teflon I'll just stick to cast iron. I know theyre heavy but super safe for your family and its a 1 time purchase. I think my oldest cast iron is about 50 to 60 years old.

I love cast iron pans and have old ones as well but being much older now I find them to heavy.

Maybe you also don't want to stock pile the pans on top of each other, bc they the metal on the bottom of one pan scratches the non stick top of the other. I wouldn't anyway, no matter what the instructions say.

valid point - this is one of the reasons i got these exact pans, becasue they ultimately get stacked... but agree

Agree - oddly enough there wasn't anything in the instructions on seasoning these pans. I was surprised !
