You could run a hot wire off the acc of the key switch. Then you will only have power when you turn it on

Split a short piece of rubber hose and slide it down onto the blade of your shoot blocker to protect the motor!

Also have the same issue with the gear getting weak over time. In my opinion it seems to wear out too fast for it being a “heavy duty” unit. It started out like yours and only got worse over time. Now it doesn’t even stay completely closed at all. Got a replacement for free under warranty, so that’s a plus… but I’m guessing it will wear out within a couple months again.

@Miguel001 thanks for watching. It may not be wearing out. I dud some investigation and found that the bolts that go into the back of the motor were LOOSE as heck. Once I tightened them, I had no more issues. I took them out one at a time, put thread locker on the bolts and that solved the problem of it not holding. I hope this helps.

Excellent review BigSouth! For the price I would want something that works better. I fabricate things a lot but I haven’t had the time to make one. It looks like I’m going to make some time to make my own chute blocker.
