I must say, this segment of your channel covering just over 100 years of the American military is one of my favorites. Though I am not for war itself, The military had made Americans free with defeating the UK twice on our own soil during their attempted take over. I respect the American military for their efforts here and I have high interest in history of the civil war itself on how everything came to be. America had truly the best founding fathers and military in the world.
Now in regards the revolutionary war, I myself am a duel citizen British American with living a couple times growing up in both Countries since birth. Being that the majority of my family is British that actually comes from North West England where George Washington was actually born himself, the revolution war had always stirred up comical arguments within my family. The British in general had never respected the American Independence Day Celebrations when they learn about it as the British where I come from flat out hates the fact the British troops with a Professional organized military under the king was ever defeated by Americans as the British also feel they had the best military in the world and they still do think this way. My mum who is British used to tease my father who is American on giving him a lot of task to complete. My father really celebrated independence day such as I also do and though my mum rarely ever went to the celebrations, my father had taken me to the events while broadcasting to my British family that he was re naming Independence day to " *Free From A Brit Day* " and he did.
My mum used to say the Americans only beat the British because of the size of England in comparison to the size of the United States but my father always came back with the reply saying that is true except when the British attacked both times, they had a completely organized military overseen by the king and America only had 13 tiny colonies being outnumbered who only lived on the Eastern Shore board of the USA before America itself was ever really explored in addition to the American military just being established without any formal training. With seeing that America only had 10 sharp shooters of their time to serve according to this video at first, I must say the American defeating the British both times was a impressive task. So yes, we had a lot of fun arguments here with this but in all honesty, most British hate this part of history and growing up in England, I was highly disrespected by many in England due to this. Most British on their own soil disrespected and even attacked Americans but when they come to America, they are two faced and won't say anything. Though it is not common, it does occur. They pretty much attacked when they found out that I am a duel citizen and again only at times, it was a rough life growing up there but generally speaking, if they did not meet my father, they thought I was Irish with my accent being a British American hybrid accent so that kinda saved me from being bullied. Today there is still a lot of hatred from the blokes in the UK upon Americans however the females are more understanding. They are just very territorial in a sense and hate outsiders on their own soil.
Being the majority of my family being British, people in my area ended up respecting those in my family but it taken time. Most countries also will bash Americans online but all of them wish to come here to America at the same time being jealous of what America has to offer, go figure.

I was stationed with the British royal Air Force for some years as an American serviceman. I too found these same similarities. I thought to myself got it was more than 200 years ago but they are still angry LOL. Us Americans just went about our business. I never let it bother me
One of my 5th great grandfathers, Col. John B. Sawyers, was a captain in the Battle of Kings Mountain, where the colonists from the Watauga settlement were severely outnumbered, but won the battle. They were a different crowd of people than the previous colonists the Torries had been battling. The king had made it forbidden to settle past the Appalachian Mountains, but they did, anyway. The Irish settlement got a letter, telling them they were about to be murdered, so the men made a two week journey, to fight them. Before that, the Brittish had been pretty much massacring the colonists. Their victory was a turning point. The leader of the redcoats (forgot the titles; Gen. Ferguson I think) kept commanding his troops to keep fighting, even though they'd clearly lost and were already surrendering. He had told the king that there was no way they'd lose. It's a really cool story. It's pretty detailed in my family history book. When the settlers began their attack, they did Indian, "woops," like the Indians did, in battle. This one guy pledged to kill Gen. Ferguson. At the end, the guy charged into the line of fire, to kill him, and got shot. When he was dying, he asked if Gen. Ferguson had been killed. They told him yes, and the guy died with a smile on his face. I'm actually pretty sure the Watauga settlement wrote the first Declaration of Independence, in 1772.

US Marine here studying military history. In the mid 1840's, the US invaded Mexico via an amphibious landing in Veracruz. In that group there were 3 Officers involved in that campaign. Grant, Lee and Jackson to name a few (quite impressive to say the least). No wonder Mexico lost. However; 15 years later, the aforementioned Officers would raise to the rank of Generals and would end up fighting each other.

Thank you Statue of Liberty for not losing the historical evidence of 1776 of the 4th of July the official day and year that the United States army was established. For all those historians out there of the respected history of the historical evidence that had demonstrated in national monuments that could not be removed.
Boston born 1960 with many relatives who've fought in WW1 up until the Gulf war I've been keenly aware of the men who sacrificed all for their country, my first day of school 1966 we'd stand, hand over heart and pledge allegiance to the USA every morning looking at our giant flag. I can see your point about being forced to watch things while in school. I had teachers who never shared the beauty of History.
Then I got older, spent a brief time in the military, went into Private Industry, started my family and then I got into teaching, learned the importance of History. It's important. All I can suggest is that you believe me. Learn to link one video, One concept to another. I think you'll see the magic. Maybe not.

Maybe, he prefers to learn about the importance of good men like Joseph Stalin and the great Soviet Union. Maybe, he needs to be taught that his nation was not the main reason WW2 was won, but it was because of the great motherland ( Soviet Union / Russia). The Soviet Union is the reason the world is not under the control of the 3rd Reich. We should not be asking why we are fighting the war, we should be asking who should be fighting the war. 🇷🇺
@@GoodmanMIke59 he should he taught in his life time, China aka the Soviet unions gift the world will be the king of it and the USA will no longer. Communism is better, we know this based on statistics. Soviet women where less depressed then American women during the Cold War, same cold be said for men, and young adults. Children where also provided a better education, and their parents where provided free housing. The Soviet constitution Guaranteed more human rights, then the American Constitution. This can not be argued.
@@GoodmanMIke59 He should learn the USA never beat the USSR in the space race, that is a lie. The USSR was first to send a man and a woman in space. First to do a space walk. First to actually put a human made object on the moon, 10 years before Americans landed on the moon. The USSR made the first satellite, and used the first satellite communications. Sure, the USA won the race to the moon, but the USSR/ CCCP won the race to space and that’s is the biggest achievement of mankind, truly it is.
@@GoodmanMIke59 he should be taught that the Soviet Union was responsible for 80 percent of ALL German casualties in WW2, and I say German not Nazi like he’s been taught because the majority of Germans did not support Hitler they fought because they had to. The Soviet Union not only freed the German people from the horrors of higher ups in the 3rd Reich and SS it freed the USA, Britain and the American people. From a realistic standpoint it makes more sense for an American citizen at the time of the wars ending to thank a Red Army veteran, over an American veteran as the Red Army veteran literary contributed more.

Well the American Army it's been around since 1700 inform of Rogers Rangers in the British Colonials they fought the French and Indian Wars protecting America now 1775 the formation of the United States Army which several of these men that fought in the French and Indian war did join and we're highlighted in the movie Patriot Mel Gibson's version not sagal's version

The Confederate States, barely 9 million.
Yet it took the North more than 4 years to get the South to surrender, and then that surrender was conditional. LOL
