Richie actually tried to get Eddie out but the Losers basically dragged him out of the lair away from Eddie's dead body. So atleast one actually tried to get him out I mean I get it they didn't want anyone else to die but still.
His last words in the novel kill me. He’s bleeding out in Richies arms and still manages to have that back and fourth banter saying, “ Don’t call me Ed’s”. He doesn’t even get the chance to finish his last sentence to Richie, leaving it at “ You know I... I-“. The man finally had a moment of peace and even then didn’t get to truly express whatever that sentence would have been (in my mind a confession). He just deserved so much better. That shit hurted

Spraying his aspirator down the spider's throat helped free Richie and Bill and when IT is retreating it talks about how It feels like it's been poisoned by whatever foul acid Eddie shot down It's throat. Eds gets the last laugh and his sacrifice was heroic as hell

It's not technically wrong what you said. However, I wouldn't say that he was questioning his sexuality at that time. It was more extreme: He was terryfied of his sexuality as well as sickness throughout the whole story. And these two things were actually connected at the time the story takes orginally place (because of AIDS!), 1957 and I guess even in the 80s which was the time it took place in the 2017 movie. And also, Derry is a really homophobic, racist and sexist place to be, just to mention that. So of course if you grow up there, it's gonna affect your personality a lot.

I always kinda wondered if some of Sonia's paranoia came from some small part of her, even in the subconscious, knowing about IT to a small degree and her fear was exploited to the point of fearing for Eddie in every way. It's not confirmed in the book, (at least that I can remember) but I always kinda wondered if she had a bit of sensitivity that lead her to feel that evil presence that surrounded Derry, beyond just the belief that it was a mad man killing kids

I think the real reason Eddie and his mother left Derry is because she realized she was losing control of him. The Loser Club are constantly showing Eddie their own versions of *real* love and care. Different versions because of their different personalities. And it’s slowly becoming clear to Eddie what that’s supposed to look like. Of course, Sonia tries to intimidate the Loser Club every time she sees them. I don’t think this is the first time she’s done this with a potential friend Eddie tries to make. This was just the first time that it failed. The moment Eddie is discharged from the hospital, he goes back to the Loser Club, basically confirming to Sonia who Eddie ultimately preferred. And, as a last desperate act to regain full control over him, they moved out of Derry. And, unfortunately for Eddie, but fortunately for Sonia, he has no memory of his childhood in Derry and, therefore, no memory of the first time he experienced genuine love and care. As a result, Sonia regaining control over Eddie was basically inevitable. I’m sure Eddie did try to make friends in his new town, but Sonia would have done everything in her power to scare them off. Then, she would probably lie to Eddie about being the *real* reason they left him, isolating him further

The emotional and mental effect that It has on her as she's trying to find out what's going on is terrifying.

It's not confirmed in the book, (at least that I can remember) but I always kinda wondered if she had a bit of sensitivity that lead her to feel that evil presence that surrounded Derry, beyond just the belief that it was a mad man killing kids
If she sensed evil in Darry and was that obsessive about Eddie, she would've rushed him out if there so fast it would make their heads spin. She probably has Munchausen syndrome
I think pennywise actually assaulted Eddie's mom as a kid and she still remembers to some degree

I think the real reason Eddie and his mother left Derry is because she realized she was losing control of him. The Loser Club are constantly showing Eddie their own versions of *real* love and care. Different versions because of their different personalities. And it’s slowly becoming clear to Eddie what that’s supposed to look like. Of course, Sonia tries to intimidate the Loser Club every time she sees them. I don’t think this is the first time she’s done this with a potential friend Eddie tries to make. This was just the first time that it failed. The moment Eddie is discharged from the hospital, he goes back to the Loser Club, basically confirming to Sonia who Eddie ultimately preferred. And, as a last desperate act to regain full control over him, they moved out of Derry. And, unfortunately for Eddie, but fortunately for Sonia, he has no memory of his childhood in Derry and, therefore, no memory of the first time he experienced genuine love and care. As a result, Sonia regaining control over Eddie was basically inevitable. I’m sure Eddie did try to make friends in his new town, but Sonia would have done everything in her power to scare them off. Then, she would probably lie to Eddie about being the *real* reason they left him, isolating him further

I'm super excited for the flashback scenes, I hope they a fill a little of this stuff in. I'd also really love to see Stan's bathtub scene be longer than in the miniseries. Patty trying to get the door open and having all these distractions, while she felt like her heart was legitimately in pain.. The emotional and mental effect that It has on her as she's trying to find out what's going on is terrifying.
