  • Former Australian Open champions Andre Agassi and Evonne Goolagong presented the men's and women's singles championship trophies on Sunday as the first Grand Slam of the year got underway,
Naomi Osaka, Angelique Kerber and Caroline Wozniacki are all making their returns to tennis in Melbourne after having children, something that struck close to Goolagong.
The Australian legend is one of three women to have won major titles in the Open era after having children, along with Margaret Court and Kim Clijsters.
She recalled how she almost decided to quit tennis after becoming pregnant for a second time, but came back and won Wimbledon in 1980 for her final Grand Slam title.
Andre Agassi triumphed at the Australian Open in 1995, 2000, 2001 and 2003, after famously avoiding the the tournament early in his career.
He said he always enjoyed playing Down Under because fans expected "a warrior" on court, which Agassi said fit his mentality.

Thank you for this! Does anyone have the footage of Evonne being honoured at this year’s AO?
