@@Bewefau Thank you, I'm very aware of this movie. However, this was a “Hollywood” production, and not based on reality.
Wargaming and AI. What would occur using current-day technologies?
It would be fascinating to witness a wargame simulation utilizing two or three equivalent AI systems with all relevant data made available to them.
I'm thinking along the lines of two to three (or even more?) different yet equally powerful AI systems, given read-only access to the WWW, a one-year settling time to acquire and process all relevant and accessible data, and then provide a date, or short window of time, for a declaration of hostilities.
      1. Assign one AI to each nuclear power, or nation directly involved in the hostilities (i.e. America, China, Russia, Great Britain, Israel, etc.).
      2. As an additional charter, require that they determine a winning solution that minimizes civilian casualties.
      3. Further, allow the differing AI’s to choose, and even form alliances, or negotiate.
Which system would win, and what would that end scenario look like? They could do several; one with nuclear weapons, one without, or even use biological deterrence. It would be very interesting I think, and I'd be willing to bet many first-world military powers are already doing this.

Its easier with older conflicts because we have a data pool of a lot of battles to simulate accurate encounters. We have seen what happens when 2000 men attack 800 entrenched men dozens of times through the 1700s so we can model that pretty well. Its harder and a bit more speculative with modern naval combat since all we have to go off is Falklands and operation Praying Mantis.

A war between the USA and China would involve intense naval, air, cyber, and space battles, with significant economic disruptions and global instability. Both nations would suffer heavy military and civilian losses, and the conflict would likely end in a stalemate due to mutually assured destruction and international diplomatic pressure. No clear victor would emerge, underscoring the need for diplomatic solutions to avoid such a catastrophic outcome.

I think this simulation seems accurate. The Chinese are smart. and are not going to attempt this for at least another 30 or even 50 years. The Chinese play the long game. And they know for now at least the US Navy is very well run and able to respond to a crisis. Their hope is that in 50 years the Navy won't be as capable and disciplined as they are now.

A board game is actually a good way to think about this.
Rolling a dice and getting random combinations would be realistic in the sense that a war can go ANY way.
If you keep getting unlucky with the dice rolls, then you gotta make due with what ya got. You won't always have a fleet of destroyers at your disposal. 3 3 24

its now sept 2023. War sure looks different from this simulation. Russia ships destroyed by several thousand dollar drone.. War has changed china is the mass producer of drone . The Russia jets don't play a major role in todays world its these hypersonic missles , drones, artillery targetted by satelites. The us abrams and german tanks are not doing too good. China now has a 7 nano chip and has almost caught up with the US tech. This simulation works for old warfare but its a new normal and those factors were not introduced in this simulation
