Just installed following the instructions here. There were some slight differences in the fasteners in the cargo area for my 2023 Model Y and no electrical connectors to the bumper. Also had to buy a deep 15mm socket. Really helpful instructions. Thanks!
I just finished it today on my 24 model y Performance, it took about 3hrs, with just pretty basic knowledge of tools. Tips - 1. Get a deep 15mm socket. I got one about 2.5in to 3in deep. 2. Don’t need a drill but it would speed things. 3. Was able to get under the car without lifting it or putting it in stands. 4. This guy is strong, he made pulling out the clips easy, don’t be afraid to pull harder than you think. I’ll try to reply if anyone has questions.

Excellent installation video so far. A lot more steps than I would've thought. I'm going to have to weigh this out and decide if it's worth it, or just have Tesla do it for $1000. I'm not sure what U-haul charges for a comparable hitch to Tesla's hitch.

So many steps - just installed mine today on my 2020 Model Y. Took about 2.5 hours. A few things that happened to me: 1. When I was removing the inner trunk panel (both driver and passenger side), the video showed only removing the lower portion but I had to pop out the upper portion as well to fit my hand and tool behind the taillights. If you do that, be VERY careful on the pins, when I was reinstalling it towards the end, my passenger panel wasn't aligning up properly. I somehow kept hitting it and it eventually snapped into place. Not 100% sure what I did but it "looks" fine now. 2. When reinstalling the lower back bumper, take note of where the clips are. I didn't really know where the pins were and got lucky with the bumper placement. I lightly shoved the bumper from multiple angles and it seemed solid to me. 3. When I reinstalling the push pins on the rear panel (under the trunk), the push pins were so incredibly hard to put back in, I had to use a hammer to get them flush again. Probably not the wisest on my part but they are there and I'm not taking it out again. Overall, this video was amazing. Followed it to a T (tee?) and eventually got it installed. Thank you UHaul!
So this part # (Draw-Tite 76430) will fit the 2020 Model Y. I've been getting conflicting information stating this will only fit 2021-2022. Since you have this part and installed it on your 2020 Model Y with no problems, I'm going make the order.
Wow! Great video, yet so many steps and parts to take off! Now I know it is not worth it! Even the service center has to mess up with car and I am concerned it may open up other issues if installer is not as trained as you are.
Very difficult to do fyi, panels, bolts, tails lights don’t come off as easily as in the video. Good tutorial but you better know you’re doing if you run into issues
The wiring is a separate Part. There is a video for the quick connect on the 2021-2022 Model Y: ruclips.net/video/SiQk07R-8i8/видео.html but the 2023-2024 Model Y needs a Universal Convertor box(CMF59236) installed behind the taillight in the same location as the 2021-2022 quick connect. But with wire testing to confirm the various signals for the universal harness.
Hi, I am planning to use the hitch to mount a motorcycle carrier. For this, it is essential to use an anti-rattle plate, which works perfectly with any other hitch. However, the Model Y one seems to be too snug and hidden in the car. Is there enough space to mount the anti-rattle plate after sliding in the carrier? Thanks.

I question why the original bumper beam is not reinstalled. The OEM hitch and the Eco hitch require reinstalling the bumper beam. I highly doubt that this hitch can replace the bumper beam that is designed to absorb the impact of a catastrophic rear-end collision. Can this hitch be installed with the original beam?
This hitch acts as a replacement for the bumper beam and meets all manufacturer specifications and requirements for a bumper beam. Its completely safe! The original bumper beam will not fit on top of the hitch during installation. Most Eco hitches allow the reinstallation of the OEM bumper beam because they did not design their hitch with those specifications in mind. We do carry Eco hitch product though!

Seeing that you removed the crash bar, where does the tow hook thread into? This hitch should be designed to allow the crash bar to remain! Poor design and unsafe!
So the bumper beam isn't needed at all? Won't that effect warranty? Or crash performance? Wondering since I only found ecohitch that allows the beam to be installed on top afterwards.
Holy, that is a lot of steps to get it done. U-Haul's detailed instruction video is second to none, this guy is a great instructor. Thanks
