Hi there, fellow Tingleheads! A couple of things:
1. Please forgive the tardiness of this video. As you may know, I am in the middle of a move and it's throwing my schedule a little out of whack. My apologies!
2. For some unknown reason (possibly to do with a phantom frequency in the room), the sound of this video went a little strange and echoey - I did what I could to edit it out, but it simply isn't as good as I would like. I apologize for this and sincerely hope you don't find it disruptive to your tingles!

Graduated in 83. No we didn't moonwalk everywhere. We were looking for jobs. The unemployment rate was 9.6%!!! Your hair is right. (You look like the lead guitarist for the Go-go's.) Your eyes are right. Had a girlfriend who bought a bag of Jellies at Target for .99 a pair. She was SO HAPPY! They were usually about $5 a pair and weren't sandals. They were actually close toed shoes. EVERY girl wore them and most every boy wore either Topsiders (for preppies) or Vans (for rockers). We watched MTV until our eyes bled. If a friend had MTV, it was an instant party. We had to pay for MTV when it started, so usually the rich kids had it at first when it had only 20 videos in their vault. Martha Quinn was my favorite VJ. Anyway, great great video. Thanks for humoring this old man.
I remember getting a pink pair of these from Target in the earlyyyyy 90s. They always blistered my feet when I wore them. I seem to think that the pair I had was composed of a very thick, sharp rubber, rather than a hard plastic, because they were pretty bendy and they had a funny smell that I now associate with jellies, haha. They almost felt like they could have been made of actual gel. They were cool to look at, but awful to wear. Loved this homage to them.
I'm waiting for jellies to make a comeback.

they already did. they were hot in like 2013-2014. not so much now
They are back! I've only seen them in tiny tiny kids shoes and baby shoes but I have a pair in sandals I love them.

I'm stunned at how well you rocked a look that I saw on many girls in my high school 86-87-88! Many people overdo the 80s look, thinking we all looked like we were in MTV music videos, but you nailed it. I'm ashamed to say, I still find the look attractive!! Great job.

One of the biggest things that stood out in my childhood was definitely Disney! I'm surprised that hasn't been mentioned yet! I loved the Zelda one, by the way. It gave me goosebumps just thinking about how fun the games are! :)

I love this channel SO MUCH. Never a bad video. And being a kid who grew up in the 80's, that hair and makeup style really brings back memories of seeing girls in the mall.

The nostalgic part of jellies for me is the scent of them. The stench of plastic lol they were also intensely uncomfortable after a day of playing outside in the heat... Haha

Also, I stoped for a while, when Ally said she was born in 90's.That means she is about the same age as I am (or like 4 years older, which doesn't make a big difference). What am I doing with my life? When I was ten, I imagined 21 y.o. myself being a princess somewhere. i guess that plan didn't work yet.
Jellies were the BEST! Totally had them in the 80s and 90s. There are very few fashion choices I like in the 80s besides jellies.
Jellies are on auto glitter now. But in the 80's they weren't. I remember when they came out with the first pair of slightly glittery ones I had a coronary because I was the Imelda Marcos of jelly shoes. And my mom catered to this awful obsession! I uses to SLEEP IN THEM.

Oh I remember Heelys! There was this kid in my school who wore them, and once when he was playing football (not the american version) when he was kicking the ball, and couldn't stop his foot on the ground because the wheel kept his foot going across the ground. And so, his foot flew up into the air, and he fell on his back.

Harry Potter does have quite alot to do with the late 80's, 1987, "Harry Potter and the Philosopher Stone" came out.
And I loved how she slowly started naming the jelly beans, and I remembered Albus Dumbledore "alas, ear wax" and Harry's cheery little smile in the hospital wing at the end of the first movie.

I love watching the growth of ASMRtists. I remember the first video I saw of yours, uploaded like 6-8 months ago. The transformation you have undergone is, though not extraordinarily obvious, definitely there and quite beautiful. Same with many other ASMRtists I follow.

First, just let me say how spot on your eyeshadow is...it reminded me of how my own looked in mid to late 80's. However, my lip gloss would have been more pink and frosted. The original Jellies had a low wedge heel and were peep toe and came in lots of great colors. They hurt like hell to wear!

I was born in 79 & wore jellies all through elementary school! They came back in the 90s for a minute & that was pretty exciting! {my only complaint with jellies was that, if you lived on a dirt road or didn't have a paved driveway, the gravel would get stuck in the bottom of the shoe. it was a HUGE pain in the butt!}.

I hated jelly shoes, I had the original ones from the 70 s and 80 s that had more straps& thinner plastic& they still made me sweat& get blisters.yuck. I loved the plastic jelly bracelets however, and those filled with liquid and glitter.I had them forever until the liquid dries up.
