Dr. Chris A Knobbe - Omega 6 Apocalypse: Do Seed Oils Cause Obesity & Chronic Disease

  • Dr. Chris Knobbe is an ophthalmologist and Associate Clinical Professor Emeritus, formerly of the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center, in Dallas, Texas. He is also the founder and president of Cure AMD Foundation, a nonprofit organization dedicated to the prevention of vision loss from age-related macular degeneration (AMD).
    Dr. Knobbe has a deep interest in general nutrition, particularly as it relates to chronic degenerative disease, though his primary area of expertise is with the disorder AMD. AMD is the leading cause of irreversible vision loss and blindness in people over the age of 65, currently affecting approximately 196 million people worldwide.
    Dr. Knobbe’s research efforts and revolutionary hypothesis for the nutritional basis of AMD have resulted in a published scientific paper, a book - Ancestral Dietary Strategy to Prevent and Treat Macular Degeneration - a website, CureAMD.org, and a second book currently in the making. Knobbe’s current research focuses substantially on omega-6 seed oil consumption as a major unifying driver of the chronic degenerative diseases of civilization, including AMD.

    ...It all began when Dr. Knobbe started getting gray hair at the tender age of 14 years old. This was the beginning of his inquiry into asking, “Was this happening because of a genetic predisposition, or was it something else that he was doing to cause his hair to turn white at such a young age?” When Chris turned 19, he grew tired of people mentioning he had so many gray hairs for such a young man. So, coloring his hair stopped the comments. As the years passed, he then found himself dealing with severe arthritis at the age of 33. As a Christian, he knew that God didn’t make mistakes. There must be something that he was doing incorrectly to cause these ‘age-related’ occurrences from happening to him. This brought him to realize that he needed to research how diet influences chronic diseases. He used himself as the guinea pig to change his diet and lifestyle over to an Ancestrally based existence and found his arthritis mostly disappeared within a few days of removing refined grains, seed oils, and processed food....
    After 41 years of ongoing hair-coloring appointments, Dr. Knobbe decided when he turned 61 this past December, it was time to live as God designed him to be…allowing his true color to be exposed and perhaps to inspire others to not worry about what other people think, or what social media deems as being a sign of youth and vitality.

      If you think about what potato chips are. It's sliced potato steamed in vegetable oil. The damages of eating potato chips have been well known for a long time. Yet, our guidelines have accepted vegetable oils into our diet. It's BS if you really think about it. The reason why vegetable oils are allowed for consumption is because it's so cheap to produce and use for everything.
      Resturants want cheap costs for something to use when they cook. The same for food processing companies like chips which I already mentioned. Same with deep fried foods.
      All of this is greed and the failure of government and health professionals doing their job. They have been bought and paid to let it happen. So while the health problems won't kill a person until 50 to 70 years. The quality of life definitely is impacted.
      Once I started eating properly. I realized my learning disability was entirely due to poor nutrition as a youth. I would of stayed in school and made so many better choices.

    • @lindabirmingham603
      @lindabirmingham603 Год назад

      You might like Malcolm Kendrick's research on the topic of atherosclerosis. I bought his book and audio version called ' The Clot Thickens' . He explains how various toxins and irritants damage the artery lining leading to blood clots. Blood clots are mostly red blood cells. Red blood cell membranes are made up of mostly cholesterol. LDL is a lipoprotein that carries cholesterol and other substances. There is a type of LDL that has a function in damage repair and immune function.
      Plaques contain cholesterol and LDL from these processes, not from eating fat.
      If dietary fat was the problem, the veins would clog up first, and veins never do.

I have managed to keep my weight in the 160-165# range over the past 4.5 years - since I started keto. However, when I indulge in some rye bread or baked potatoes I begin to creep up to 170# and don't lose it until I stop eating these heavy carbs.

    I cannot stand this video. How is this dude saying "oh, you cannot consume vegetable oils". I am sorry, but what is wrong with properly processed sunflower oil? If I'm buying sunflower seeds and pressing it at my home. What is wrong with that? Why sunflower oil became an evil? This dude doesn't have right to speak.
