For country, you should have used a faster attack, more compression, and your blend nob up all the way. I'm looking at getting the Tech21 RK5 V2 tomorrow. It's got a FET compressor but it's a single nob setup. So yours definitely has more Controls.
for gainy leads, does it work better after the Overdrive pedal or bevor? Studio comps usualy are after overdrive pedals and amp preamp. Sorry, all OK - I should have waited till the video was finished. I ordered the pedal and looking forward. By the way very nice playing man.
I ran it after for the purpose of this video, as I wanted to add sustain to the drive. But normally I’d run before. I used it for a session today and ran it before a Marshall Guv’nor
@SixStringAlliance Hey, all I mean is the pedal noisy? In the room is there hiss .... etc etc. Compressors can have a lot of that going on Haha. Thanks :)
It depends on how much gain there is from the drive or amp, verses how much you’re pushing with the compressor output. But I found for more subtle uses it wasn’t bad, but more gain with a compressor means more hiss
I didn’t use it with too much distortion, I personally wouldn’t feel the need to add compression to a very saturated sound, but I’d imagine it would work well.
@@SixStringAlliance thanks. In Brian’s video he kinda alluded that it was designed more for the FX loop as wasn’t a dyna style. BbSo wondering if you tried that and what the results were like but great video thanks
@@stratocumulusnimbostratus328 I didn’t try it that way as I had specific applications I wanted it to do front end. Thanks for watching, glad you enjoyed it 😊
We needed this demo because everybody is doing clean demos on 99.9 per cent of compressors. Except you and Brian W itself. Thanks!!
Thank you!! Glad you found it useful
Knocked it out of the park again
Cheers fella .. great pedal
A wonderful tutorial !
I own an older, but not ancient, compressor and have learned much from your video and has aided in my decision to upgrade.
Thanks you. I’m glad you found it helpful

Very Tasty Tones !
Thank you!! It’s an “always on” pedal, just so good

You're welcome!
Wow great playing. How's the noise floor in the room ?
Thank you. What do you mean by the noise floor in the room?

I need to hear a comp in the room. Moderate volume. Sounds nice here though.
It’s great.. I used it today for a job. Just had it there for some tonal dressing, and it really worked nicely
How’s does it sound with more distortion/gain?
I didn’t use it with too much distortion, I personally wouldn’t feel the need to add compression to a very saturated sound, but I’d imagine it would work well.
It's very tasty to do high gain with the right compressor
Is it front of amp or in fx loop
Running it in front I could push the amp hard for the rhythm under the solo, and to add sustain to the Tumnus for the solo.

What's the order? Compressor ->Distotion->Amp?
