Saying Earl Campbell is one of the most forgotten running backs is crazy. When I saw the title of your video, he was the first one I thought of. No one ran harder since Earl. He is number one.
I suppose its how you interpret "hard to tackle". If you mean how hard it is to bring someone down, the Campbell it for sure one that could be King of that. Although I'd probably go with Christian Okoye there. But if we are including guys that just juke and fly and defenders can't even get a hand on them then Campbell gets dropped down a few notches.

As a fan who only roots for Washington when they play the Cowpokers I have to give a nod of respect to John Riggins. Man was a bulldozer at running back. Over 11,300 yards rushing over 2000 yards pass catches and 116 TDs.

Jim Brown: 6' 2", 230 lbs. 106 career tds playing in 3 seasons of 12 games and 6 seasons of 14 games with no playoff games, only the league championship, unless there was a tie breaker in one of the divisions. He ran a 4.5 40 yards, yeah, I know, slow by todays standards, but he did it in full pads, regular cleats from a 3 point stance. He averaged 104 yards per game for his entire career, and 5.2 yards per carry for his career playing in a much more vicious game than today that did not have 30 minutes of rest each half from tv time outs. A game in which very few modern running backs from today's pussy game would last 5 years. Tom Brady would not have made it through one season. Brown never missed a game in 9 years. If you measure production based on yards or scoring versus games played or total number of carries, there has never been anyone like him, and I've seen all of them since 1960.

in looking at the video title, i thought it meant contact tackling, not elusiveness. from the 60s and 70s, the best pure runner was the very elusive gale sayers. he was unbelievable. in the 60s, the 2 best power runners were jim brown and jimmy taylor. after that, you had larry csonka, john riggins, and franco harris. but by far and away, the best power runner of that era, and i suspect any era - earl campbell. he ran the ball like 40 times a game, and played on a terrible team. so it wasnt like the defense had to guess at who was gonna get the ball on each and every play. if campbell had played on a good team, just no telling how good he would have been. and no doubt could have played longer.
Anyone mention THE BUS? No one more effective inside the 3. (Henry's close). But Campbell would hurt you. Ran the ball like a defensive player...looking for contact. By the way, how did THAT ONE feel Mr. Robertson? (12:11)

I haven't watched this yet but having anyone other than Derrick Henry at #1 would be ludicrous. There have been really fast guys who have been hard to tackle. There have been huge guys who bulldoze defenders but never had there been a RB who could do both let alone being the best at both. There have been boatloads of large fast RBs. Adrian Peterson is far ahead of D. Henry. Henry is very good right now. But saying he's a one of a kind is foolish. Backs like this usually have a short career. And judging by Henry's chicken legs he won't last too much longer. They know how many carries RB's usually have before they are through and wrongly applied that to Henry. Henry was different than others he's not the one taking big hits, he's the one giving them out. Not to mention It's like people forget that his first 2 seasons he didn't play nearly as much.
was going to be extremely upset if Emmitt Smith was left off this list. its weird that the all time rushing leader is so consistently underrated.
No Gale Sayers or Marshall Faulk?
Where do they rank on your list?
Only guy on list I'd take time out of my day and pay to see play was Barry Sanders...straight up alien.
Jim Brown Earl cambol better be on this list
Your list is not accurate
I havent watched it yet but is Steven Jackson and Mike Alstott don’t make this list and Henry does I’ll be livid
Even worse. Priest Holmes.
The year after Emmitt Smith retired, he won the So You Think You Can Dance title.
Earl Campbell is my favorite player
Where is Gale Sayers the elusive running back respect his game
Where is Bronko Nagurski? Red Grange?
Herschel Walker, Bo Jackson, Eric Dickerson
Terrible list.... Larry Czonka? (Spelling)... Christian Okeye?... Riggins?... Jerome Bettis?...you just picked all time greats..Not head bustas!!!...this sucked .learn football 😢😢
Rank your top 10, I’d like to know
Top 10 hardest to tackle:
- Red Grange
- Gayle Sayers
- Walter Payton
- Jim Brown
- Barry Sanders
- Derrick Henry
- John Riggins
- Earl Campbell
- OJ Simpson
- Marshawn Lynch
Honorable mention - Bo Jackson (too short a career) and Bronko Nagurski (didn't want to do 4 Bears players.)
Emmitt was partially a product of running behind one of the greatest offensive lines of all time. Priest Holmes? Not harder than Okoye or even Barry Word. Dickerson was harder than Tomlinson. Even Herschel Walker was harder to tackle than most on this list.
To find be hardest to tackle you have to go back to the time where running dominated the league, those backs had to break 3-4 tackles every play.
@@bkteam4251half the people you named were hard to tackle because they played against people that held 9-5 jobs and played football on the weekends lol. Not have ap is criminal
@@gregdragoo4777 And by half you mean 1 - Red Grange? He is the OG impossible to tackle back. It all starts with him, and regardless of how teams were comprised then it's about who was tough to difficult to tackle. AP over who, Riggins? Sorry. AP was an excellent back, was a lesser Bo Jackson that played longer.
Here's the difference, Riggins is breaking the tackles of lineman and inside linebackers. AP is breaking the tackles of CBs and safeties. Is AP top 20, sure. Not top 10.
@bkteam4251 😆🤣😆 🤡 you really just say top 20? Dude has every single move in his arsenal
When it comes down to it, I would pick Jim Brown as the running back that I'd want on my team.
Todd Gurley in his prime was something different, too bad about the injuries.
Erick Dickerson?
No John Riggins, Larry Csonka, Bo Jackson, Gayle Sayers, Eric Dickerson??
No Gayle Sayers, No list.
I'm guessing you guys never heard of the Kansas Comet Gayle Sayers
The guy who made this video forgot the title of his video. This video is not about regular runners.
Who’s your top 10 hardest to tackle RBs?
OJ Simpsons on the field accolades should be mentioned
Barry Sanders’s dad mentally abused him … if Barry had a nurturing supportive father he would have played at least 3 or 4 seasons.
John Brockington early 70's Packers --- his face mask was one of a kind too --kinda like a big rhino, and that's how he ran.
butkus or mean joe greene never had a problem with him
Where is Larry Csonka😢
Hardest to tackle? And no Bo Jackson? Please tell me you're kidding. Only Earl Campbell created the kind of terror that a DB got when he saw Bo coming at him. Bo was a juggernaut.
bo jackson should have been on here - priest holmes no way !!!
Anyone saying Derrick Henry or Marshan Lynch should be at the top of this list has never watched video of Barry Sanders, Emitt Smith or Walter Peyton play not to mention Jim Brown
They are all on the list :)
Walter Payton, Barry Sanders, Mike Alstott
Bo Jackson, Larry Czonka and Ricky Williams
Ya'll really gonna keep Frank Gore off this list??
Gore was on my mind during the making of this video. It’s just hard to fit them all in together.
WHEN YOU WATCH CAMPBELL CLIPS UNDERSTAND WHY THEY CALL FOOTBALL "THE GRID IRON"?😂🎉❤
Alstott number 1
He was a beast, but does his career stack up?
@ stat wise, no. Full backs never got recognition for awards.
@@thehalftimeshow The title does not say Best RBs. Every Alstott highlight he has has him breaking tackles left and right.
As a Full Back he definitely does. Full Backs are severally underrated and he should be in HOF@@thehalftimeshow
Marshall Faulk. Y’all forgot about him
