  • Massachusetts is the only state in the country where it's illegal to sell, use or have fireworks as a private citizen. The law has been on the books since 1943.

    Unenforced every 4th of July in the Mattapan neighborhoods of West Codman Hill and Franklin Field South even with Boston Police District B-3 Mattapan/ North Dorchester precinct being RIGHT THERE IN THE NEIGHBORHOOD!
    I used to take Morton Street to the Shattuck Hospital working nights up until just a few years ago and NOT ONE cop was patrolling the neighborhoods while it looked like the esplanade with fireworks 🎆🎇 going off high in the sky everywhere. Complete joke.
