Does anyone know what kind of guitar Michael Rother played on the NEU! self titled and 2 records, and also the Kraftwerk live performance entitled K4: Bremen radio 1971?
i wish he didn't put his guitar through all that digital processing, doesn't sound like it's even going through an amp. very different than what early NEU! were all about with loads of tape manipulation. still love it though
Kind of funny that you say that, far as I know Rother never used an amp on their recordings. He plugged the guitar through a fuzz into the mixingconsole and processed it through there. So in a way plugging it into a digital Device is more similar to the albums than using an amp.
The bassist is not a jazz bassist. The drummer is not a jazz drummer. The keyboardist/guitarist is not playing jazz. There is no singing here. My conclusion is that if you want to hear jazz go to a John Coltrane video because you will not hear or see jazz in this video.
seriously hard to drum like that for that long. legendary song
I can't get enough of this song. It's what i've always wanted to do.
This is a treat, thanks for sharing!
Steve Shelley on drums? FUCK YES! So many legends on room. You'd think the crowd were spoiled rotten with the chance of witnessing this! :D
Such a driving beat. Love it.
Chrome, Sonic Youth, Stereolab et al all took a lot from Neu!
+Al Quint Sometimes it happens to meet Fathers.

Les Paul Deluxe for all the early Neu!/Kraftwerk stuff he then snagged a Fender Mustang and used it for some Harmonia trax/some guitars on Neu! 75

where is the wah wah thing???
It hides behind that keyboards thing.

I like the drummer. He looks like ..as if his mother had combed his hair for him.

+Ian Anderson So, no jazz?
...and I came here for jazz
Ian Anderson Incredible insight, and Frank Zappa isn't a classical violinist.
And Ian Anderson is not a circus artist!
Isn't a clown a 'circus artist'?
NEU! with laptops? NOPE. I'm outta here
