- One of these games shows extravagance to the point of flaunting, so big it was impossible to price, and led to a boring playing, only exciting out of nerves than anything else. You can't manufacture excitement by sticking in shit. Hell, even yesterday's Rent wasn't really that exciting.
Another game shows how GOOD CONTESTANTS MANUFACTURE PROPER EXCITEMENT FOR YOU, NO FERRARIS REQUIRED, JUST YOUR REGULAR OLD CAR.
EDIT: Rant time:
This is exactly why Golden Road has had the very high end cars and never 3 Strikes. The 1st digit just becomes that much more of a problem as you get into 80k, 90k, never mind freakin' 280k. Whoever skipped over Golden Road, where the price of the big prize is emphasized super highly anyways, is brain-dead.
And again even then, 280k?? The previous highest was $112,845, 4 years ago. Holy crap, let's keep it maybe to 150k max or something.
I really hope the show somehow survives enough to have another producer in charge and see if anything changes. One thing I'm aware of is that it may have been Drew who spawned all these insane amounts, based on a video chat a few months ago, and that CBS firing Roger may have been their move to finally get more control over the show that they wanted but couldn't do before. So even with Mike Richards out, the show may (probably) be permanently past the hill.
It's just infuriating when the good magic is on display like in this Let 'Em Roll, or even 3X a month ago, and they just don't get it. And maybe most of the current viewers nowadays don't get it either, and it's just going to be a messy divorce for me and other hardcore fans. I dunno... Развлечения
I LOVED the guy that said "OH MY GOD" during the silence after she chose the 8 for number 1.
It was most likely Marc from contestants row! lol
I was saying that after she called out every number. Haha. She told me later she was looking at me but was listening to her family. She's a great lady. It just wasn't meant to be won.
I agree
@@HomewreckerHaHa Who in the hell are u calling stupid? bet u wouldnt say that to any black persons face
Nice that you spend time saying things online for a rise. Shows you have an ugly character and after you graduate high school that will matter quite a bit buddy.
I love how the crowd progressively becomes less excited with every wrong guess. Lmao 🤣
For the Ferrari...
"where the 8 goes...."
"1...." *epic facepalm*
Hahahahahaha...Did you see Drew's face after she said that?
I'm sure even if she had won the car, the police would have pulled her over everyday.
The game show probably covers the tt&l but I seriously doubt she would have been able to afford the annual maintenance cost on a 458, let alone insurance. If you don’t follow the Ferrari service schedule IT WILL void the warranty and it also kills resale value. This is not Hyundai or a Toyota. Having a Ferrari is a lot like having a newborn baby, it requires a lot of attention and money to stay healthy.
@@tycobandit Realistically I would be much happier with a new Toyota.
dan stone me too, Ferraris and Lamborghinis etc. are fun to dream about but the reality of owning one... most people can’t.
The idea of bringing your 88 year old grandma to TPIR to celebrate her birthday as a family is awesome.
I think she was so excited or nervous that she didn't even understood that those hidden numbers actually makes up price of that Ferrari.
+CS GO I think you mean unintelligent, not nervous lol
Ok ill let him go 5th to see 👀 if
She definitely was out to lunch
@@granny58Happy for her
Because if she win, she had to pay massive tax just for the $200,000 cars
This lady is the worst guesser in history.
its not exactly obvious where all the numbers go. she probably doesn't have insurance so even if she would have wonned the car, she wouldnt have been able to afford it.
gsherman82 you don’t have to keep the car. If you go to the bank and ask for a loan to pay the taxes and tell them you are selling it. Pretty much any bank will approve the loan because it will be easy money
Chris Boulas I
I bet she cant even spell Ferrari
I'm sorry that you try to get attention in negative ways but God loves you despite that and you can always change. Theres literally no benefit to insulting someone. Besides that your comment is very racist. If you have a good education then go be somebody and make a difference. Insulting online is not doing your life any justice
she really thought the car was over 800k?
no, there was 6 digits. meaning over $800,000. that car is not 28k
It was $280k not 28k
LMAO!
D X probably this dumb bitch thought the car was around 100k
Ding ding
I bet the producers said "Drew, if the Ferrari goes, you go."
Nickk9656 Nah they make that back in a week, but wouldn’t matter anyways unless you won a ton of cash she wouldn’t be taking that Ferrari anywhere
I get the joke but they pay Drew WAYYYY more than that Ferrari is worth. He makes around $10 million a year as the host.
What of it were actually Drew's Ferrari.
I thought the car was donated to the show as a form of advertisement. Though we usually don't see them on twice so IDK what happens to the prizes that are not won. Maybe sold off, returned, or given away to employees (for less valued items)?
She really thought that the 458 Spyder was $800,000?
Yeah, she's a total idiot. It's almost like she doesn't everything about cars.
Aaron F I know right!
MaGoo I am used to it.
MaGoo Right, because knowing the price of an extremely expensive car dictates your intelligence level. You described yourself in your comment, and I am used to it.
MaGoo She said lots of numbers. Why are you people highlighting that one number? It's easy to have an opinion sitting at home, but being there on television in front of an audience is different. I bet all of you do dumb shit around crowds, being socially awkward an all.
Some of these contestants practically stumble onto the show's set. Maybe they're even plucked off the street, I dunno. But one thing holds true: I've been watching this show since I was a preschooler, and I know some decent skills about how to strategically play the games on the show. Not always perfect, though pretty dependable skills. But she... just GAVE UP. Glazed-over deer in headlights look and everything. When she started calling for the first number over and over, I knew she was boned. Trust me... this was like hell to watch. She practically asked the strikes to dance into her fingers.
Yeah.
@@JonesDylan874 I guess I can understand why
She is play for 6 digit car which its hard
With 6 numbers, there are 720 possible results which make it very hard to win
@@luuduonghy659 But once you know the first digit is not "1," you know it's "2," not "8" or "6". I agree with "deer in the headlights." It's like guessing that the price of three apples is $1.98 and your next guess is $8.98.
@@gnirolnamlerf593 Yeah. Hundred thousand digit was easiest to guess in this game if it was 6 digits car
Problem start after you guess hundred thousand digit
The reaction of the guy in the green shirt in contestant's row when they reveal the prize is worth the price of admission alone.
For me being in the same room as Manuela and Amber would have been worth the cost of admission
"put a hand on it" thats like salt on open wounds.
Not winning that was the best thing that's ever happened to her.
I know, imagine paying taxes on that thing!!! 👀
Insurance, repairs, finding someone qualified to work on it, a secure location to store it, etc, etc…
The fans loved this and it was naturally exciting. Nobody watching thought they were going to give away a Ferrari on a game like Hole in One. Everyone knew it was going to be a challenging game. There's nothing wrong with this method whatsoever.
Watching this woman play this game makes me wish i was watching paint dry instead
why the hell would you choose to put the 8 and 6 in the first spot? 0-o
Silver Mercy she’s bad at the game... sure didnt deserve to win
Black
Exactly
Because she's an idiot
@@stephaniemccord6100 no she isn’t because she could have been right because Ferrari is a really expensive car
10:48 Mark really wanted another Ferrari because the last contestant was so out of it he wanted a crowd redemption.
TPiR kinda killed the mood when they went from a Ferrari to a Hyundai Elantra!! lol
Now Mark just needs to win >10 of those to make up for the loss of the Ferrari!
I got goose bumps just before the announced it....Holy Cow!!!
She wouldn't be able to pay taxes on that whip lol
a nerds response to this video
@@michaelcaraccia7819 its true though. She was screwed either way with that game and prize.
@@DorkVader26 yea but only after she came up with 50k to pay taxes title and tag fees to even get it out of there to sell
@@rushco.8811 She could have pretended to be a Nigerian Prince, lol Scam
@@DorkVader26 You have to pay the taxes BEFORE you get the prize. Stupid IRS...
Lol even if she won the car taxes and insurance would be a fortune
Tyats what I said, people dont realize you have to pay the taxes,on a this car itd be like $40,000 and probably $5000 to licence it.
She knows nothing about a car. Bet she couldn't even tell you the difference between a tire and a wheel.
She probably couldn't have afforded the car anyway, it would have been sold as soon as possible.
She probably couldn't afford the taxes either just to take it as a gift.
I would of sold the Ferrari the second i got. The main reason being, I do not want to pay the $2000 in insurance to keep it. XD
+Mathew Mitchell Right there with you, the insurance would be through the roof, but that's only if you can afford the prize itself, sure if you won it that's great, but you still have to pay the taxes on a $285,716 car which amounts to $22,857, ouch. So you would more than likely have to sell it, but in the end you could end up with a cool $250,000
darknova000
I'd much rather spend that money on something more productive anyways lol.
darknova000
Taxes would probably push it closer to $100,000 than $22,000. Most people would have to sell it to pay that tax. Granted, she would end up with almost $200,000 cash if she got a fair price for it so that isn't a bad days work.
Save what you all forget is you have to pay the tax before you even get it. So she would have had to take cash and Other prices anyways
Drew probably saved her life. 1 out of 4 of these cars ends up totalled, with the owner inside. You can't just daydream away and let your instincts drive this, it'll kill ya'.
Lmao at Drew when he was telling them about the model getting her teeth fixed lmao
This isn't jumping the shark...
Lol, "my mom says" Your mom has no idea what that car costs either!
Her mom is, of course, just as dumb as she is...lol.
Like she could have afforded the tax anyway.
Make a bank loan then sell the car easy money for her and the bank no way they wouldn't accept
A caucasoid like you 🤨 Neanderthal
@@pgamingbs you need a substantial amount of income to warrant a bank giving you a bank loan for the tax on that, plus any other prizes she might've won in the first place. I'm assuming she has a decent paying job and would probably get the loan, but you don't just "get a loan"
Carey is such a Class act!!! Super COOL!!!!!
Anyway you could feel the surface of the chips for imprints to tell if a # or X strike? I am sure they laquered it or something.
I was rooting for her until she thought the car is $600K or $800K, lol. Also, how do we know if there are additional X's placed in the bag in addition to the 3? hmmm
You would calculate the probability.
Drew counted 3 strikes before putting them in the bag. If there were more it would not be called 3 strikes. U must be a conspiracy theorist to think about that
This is the only one I think I’ve seen where I didn’t want them to win. Haha 😆
OMG! I love the way the Yanks get so EXCITED! GR8
After a while, I was rooting for the third strike to pop up.
I know. I was like, just put her out of her misery.
9:00 And, lo and behold, it did. She wouldn’t have been able to afford that expensive car even if she’d won it.
@@tyrese3745 And don't get me started on Ferrari's strict ownership rules. Break one of them, and you'll land on the blacklist faster than a LaFerrari.
$285,716 my cousin paid $268,410.
Big deal, what people DON'T know is THEY have to pay the sales tax, so this "person", if they live in say California, will pay 9.75% that $27,857 NOT counting DMV so she will be paying $25,000 a year for the next 8 years and then it will slowly start to go down.
She would be paying alot more than that,The lady that won the audi(157,000)paid 61 k and had to pay it all befor she got the vehicle,so safe to say it would be at least a 100k for that!
I think you can always refuse the prize. I did read in The Price Is Right FAQs a while back that contestants don't always have to accept the prize. The other option would be to take the car, sell it, and then use the money towards taxes.
prunga308 You big liar. There is no way in hell you have a cousin.
You did not win it but you can touch it... that was a bit cruel 😂
I'd like to see a show where they decide to the car up for grabs in each half of the show a Lamborghini. That would be feakin" awesome!
Lmao he's more excited about the Hyundai than the ferrari lol
Well, since 3 Strikes + was already used when they started playing this for 5-digit cars, 3 Strikes Deluxe is a fine name.
A car with that inimitable eye-talian touch of style.
How come people don’t feel for paint markings on pucks
It's been won 4 times in the Drew era, three in 2011 and one in March of this year. Fortunate to have that many wins, but at least it hasn't been shut out.
Yeah, but it will
Because after 2016, it suffer 4 year of losing streaks include 3-4 heartbroken lost(Contestant pick third strike with 2 discs left)
in 2000 the most expensive item was a new dodge viper, this ferrari blew the viper away. and the this is by far the most difficult game yet
She wouldn’t have been able to pay the taxes on that car
The term "Jumping the Shark" is more than just an over-the-top, sensational ratings-grabber. It means that, in the pursuit of ratings, you have abandoned your core concept, and with it, all integrity. It results in great, one-time ratings, and a subsequent loss of trust of your viewers. It's a self-inflicted, fatal wound to a series. Giving away a Ferrari does not meet the definition of the term. [Origin-- Happy Days: Fonzie waterski-jumped over a shark tank]
Why not? It does represent an abandonment of the core concepts (focus on megaprizes over contestants).
Not even close. They've been doing these kind of occasional bonanza prizes for years. And don't forget the second component I mentioned. You have to be doing both things at once. People tend to overuse this term because they like how colorful it is. Did you watch the episode of Fonzie jumping the shark yet? That's where the term came from, if you really want to understand it.
*slow claps
***** That's what I have to agree with you on. And that's why I stopped watching Price.
That's fine, but it's not because they jumped the shark. Here's what it would mean for TPIR to jump the shark-- A band of assassins break into the show, and kidnap Drew Carey. He is subsequently sold to a tribe in Madagascar that is big fans of the show. They force him to bungee jump for his freedom, for a rope fashioned from all the all the bras that Barker's Beauties ever wore on the show.
It has to get that bizarre to rise to the level of jumping the shark. And until you've seen the famous episode of Happy Days where Fonzie literally jumped the shark, you'll have to take my word for it.
I have to agree that this one did feel forced. Three Strikes is a classic game because it is one of the most exciting - you don't need a ridiculously expensive car to make it exciting. I feel like a contestant brought up in this situation is being made to play an un-winnable game for a prize that they would not be able to claim even if they happened to win.
That's a hard game, especially with a six figure car.
The second guy is literally the only contestant I've invested feelings toward winning ever, so glad it worked out even after the premature celebration :P
It's not nearly one of the most expensive priced cars in the country. One, for example, the Bugatti Veyron SS is ~$2.4 million dollars.
I’d hate to be the guy that missed the opportunity for the Ferrari for the Hyundai 🤣😂🤣
you can keep both of them.
Probably could’ve given her a Mitsubishi Mirage and she probably would’ve known the difference and been just as happy.
9:26 At least Therese got to touch it, but that's as close to pure luxury as she got. Oh, well... that's life in the movies, kid.
Pfftttt. Poster of this video rants at the producers about the car being worth a lot of money, etc. Um, do you actually think that The Price Is Right game show purchases these cars? The auto makers give cars to these shows to advertise their product. What were the producers supposed to do? Say, "oh, thanks, but no thanks, we don't want your car on our show." If the auto makers want to offer their cars as a prize for the show, then fine, so be it, it brings in viewers, makes it more exciting, etc. Your rant is just plain silly.
That's true. Ferrari sales have been struggling and they REALLY need to advertise their cars to the audience of The Price Is Right. How else are people going to get to work?
9:00 - Yep. The final nail in the coffin. All the better for Therese, though. That third strike freed her from her torment. She wouldn't have been to afford the car even if she did win it. Now that's the irony of things.
Because she would had to paid a big amount of tax to win the car
Hilarious that they followed a Ferrari with a sub compact lol
Yeesh, I've been watching TPIR all my life and this super-car blew me away! I knew 3 Strikes would be the perfect game for this "ridiculous" offer (aside from Golden Road!). Of course when it comes to playing this particular game, keen memory (along with rational judgement) is VITAL! Quite depressing that she got "grand-slammed;" they should've saved that Ferrari as the last prize because the rest of the cars seemed worthless after that game.
The winner of the second car didn't seem to think so.
good luck paying the taxes..and regular maint. Oh yeah...this year model has a clutch issue...hows that insurance quote?
The insurance on that is more than she makes in a year. Easily $2,000 per month
I was in the audience for this show... exactly right so many wrong guesses for the car
13:08 "Got her teeth fixed..." I'm sure she was happy about you saying that!!
Unfortunately I couldn’t even afford the gas to get the car home
I like how they go from one of the best cars to one of the worst lol and that one of the features of the worst car, was daytime running lights, which is required by law jajaj
I was not expecting her to win this, but I did hope she would get one number on the board, a hope that was dashed. Now the thing is this game can take a long time to play. Although I like this game a lot, lot more than Lucky Seven, I am concerned that the longevity of 3 Strike's gameplay may lead to its demise.
This game was play for two more six digits car and the player did get number right
The third one was special because there are repeat digit
*I can't believe the black woman said the 8 goes in the 1 place!*
I frequent the site, and yet I have to agree with you. I still think they had the Game Show Garbage induction coming.
I have a feeling for that price, that that car was not meant to be won at all.
well i think its a win for her bcz the taxes on that shit would bankrupt her.
I'm from Canada where winnings are tax free, which is great. But a lot of people here are saying winners need pay to a tax. Why wouldn't the show pay the tax?
In the USA the givers are not required to pay the taxes on gifts or prizes and it is usually disclosed at the beginning of the program or the contest.
Sussie Due Obviously the awarders aren't required to pay them. I'm asking why they don't just pay them anyway.
Nibs Niven Considering what they are giving them, I think that would be enough already. LOL
Sussie Due Even if I was from the U.S, I wouldn't turn down receipt of a prize, but I might have to sell it to pay the taxes.
Of course a gift is always "enough". But the point I'm trying to make is that if I was producing a game show in the U.S., I would include tax liability as part of the prize.
Most people will need to sell the vehicle to pay the taxes, which just results in a cash win.
If she would have WON THAT FERRARI 458 SPYDER WORTH $285,716 in 2013 which 11 years later now in 2024 would almost double that price!! But she would have been THE ALL TIME BIGGEST WINNER IN PRICE IS RIGHT HISTORY DAYTIME!!
Never left the studio with it. Taxes and license on that car would have cost her $28,000.
Wayo, the "jumping the shark" point of TPIR came when The Dob was fired and Mike was hired. This past week was only an example of a ratings-drawing gimmick.
Personally, I enjoyed Big Money Week and was hoping more would be given away. It's the most excitement we've had since the MDS'. At least that week focused on gameplay, as opposed to shows with special guest stars!
i do agree that Golden Road would've been a better game for that Ferrari.
what people don't think about when they win big is they have to pay SALES tax on what they win and a almost 300,000 car the sales tax would be alot and most people couldn't afford it, in NY the sales tax is around $24,000 dollars which would have to be paid before taking the car..
I've learned that these game shows rent these cars then make contingency plans to purchase them if contestants actually win the vehicles in broadcast contests.
Remember guys and galls this prize can be anything they want it to be !!
That car is way to powerful for her to even drive.
Three Strikes is actually the worst pricing game to play for a vehicle with a six-figure price tag, because it would take a lot longer or way too easy to lose. The Golden Road would have been much better pricing game for this kind of vehicle.
Awesome noise dude
"A prize worth less than 1/10th of that last car!"
Truth be told, I was actually expecting this particular playing to be down to the last number and strike, win or lose.
About that Let 'em Roll playing, I'm surprised he wasn't fooled by that Allegra.
Hate 3 Strikes but she had a lot of chances. She killed me with saying the 6 and the 1was the first number. Like come on.
This big money week crossed the line. I think that they should have those $1,000,000 Spectaculars after what happened especially here.
Correct
How the FUCK did they get a hold of that 735 BHP beast!?
That's nuts in a vice, bonkerballs insane.
She would never have been able to get it anyways ! THINK OF THE TAX ? AND it takes 3 to 5 months to receive it, and you to pay the TAX ! before they ship it ,and state tax not to mention, shall i go on ?
It jumped the shark about the time Rod Roddy arrived.
Just imagine the taxes you would have to pay to receive the items ......
I know I only saw three in there myself, the reason I asked that was I was replying to a2zhandi's comment when he said there were 5 strikes in there before Drew put anything in there.
Doesn't this lady remind you of Tika Sumpter from The Haves & Havesnots?
I'm shocked it was so cheap being brand new. I was figuring $5XX,XXX.
What is that model's name??
Why were there 5 strikes in the bag before the game started?
800k ferrari?
haha wow if only my brother was on this when it happened. There would be no hesitation in how much it costed lol hes a ferrari fanatic :P
Imagone if a old lady won the Ferrari. She be cruising like a boss
If she would have won that it would have been totaled in a week.
Or she would have been forced to leave it for not being able to afford the tax on it.
They should have used the yachtzee game for the Ferrari
Jumping the shark?! REALLY?! This is the ultimate challenge! 6 digits that you have to guess go in the right places, while 3 strikes are always present, and there're 6 total digits... that was near impossible! If anyone would have gotten it, they completely deserve the car! The odds were so astronomical to win this car that I think even Ferrari knew it couldn't be done, which is the only reason they agreed to this. And had they won? YOURS!!!! EPIC WIN!!
Still, $285,000+... just.... WOW!
Wow! You are a serious fan.
Not even on the same planet with the price I think is safe to assume that wasn’t a safe car for her to own/drive
George forgot to mention that the Ferrari 458 spider is rear wheel drive
Wow. Yellow brake calipers.
