Hey Anton, a great transition you could have used: Fly into the Sun in Space Engine, then fly out of the Sun in Universe Sandbox. You would have to record the two clips and then voice over the edited piece.
Hey may I just say something, I've been interested in space recently, I found your channel a while ago, I found it very interesting. Thanks for bringing amazing content and keep it up.
It gives me a chuckle to hear Anton's voice from 5 years ago. His delivery is higher pitched and varying in speed and volume. Even a rushed staccato at points. These days, his delivery is much more mellow and lower in tone. I find his videos very interesting, but admit, that I use them to help get to sleep. He now ends his videos with about a minute of melodic space music, so maybe his intent is create calming AMSR type videos.
Anton. Love your channel, man. What would happen if you had multiple black holes close to each other? Do you think you could do a video on that? Is there such thing as one black hole being stronger than the other? Can a black hole vacuum another black hole? I think that would be a great video if you haven't already done that Keep up the good work!
If you could copy and paste that video link in reply to this message that would be great. However, I would like to know if it's possible to have multiple black holes close together just to see what happens. If a black hole is able to take over the speed of light, can a black hole take over another black hole? But then again, are all black holes equivalent to their violent strength? Will nothing actually happen if multiple black holes are so close, if not, merge with one another? Or will it create a much larger black hole?
I read an article once saying that in one part of the sun, the elements found there differ from anywhere else. The scientist in the article said this could have been due to a large planet being consumed by the sun. Great stuff!
I love your vids) I think that a better microphone and overall voice recording quality would boost up your views dramatically. I binge watch many vids at a time and after a while it gets quite rough on the ears. Just a suggestion.
Conjecture: "Planet X" did exist, was part of the innermost solar system, was kicked out of said system due to orbital eccentricity and slingshotting around the sun, and on the way out, its gravitational pull excited some of the TNO's and Kuiper Belt Objects into very eccentric orbits. This leads to a cascade effect where eccentric-ed KBO's collide, and send some back towards the inner solar system, leading to additional collisions, including some from Earth. Bottom line: "Planet X" existed, but has been ejected from the solar system. It exists, but it is moving away from the system at such velocity that the sun's gravity won't be able to recapture it. Follow-up Bonus Round: One of the proto-cores that created or existed at the time of "Inner Planet X" (I suggest the name Aether, father of Caelus/Uranus) smacked into Mercury and caused its supposed loss of outer crust, as covered in Anton's video about Mercury being a Hot Neptune. It could also be that Aether was another Hot Neptune as was Mercury at the time, and when it was ejected from the system, it dragged Mercury out to its present orbit, after both had lost significant amounts of atmosphere. EXTRA Bonus: Aether was responsible for what happened to Venus, through its own gravitational pull as it was exiting the innermost Solar System. Either it caused proto-Venus's possible proto-Moon(s) to hit the planet, or it dragged another protoplanet to Venus' vicinity.
or the speculation that mercury was once much more massive but had almost all of its crust and mantle blown away in a large planetary impact much like the one responsible for our moon so maybe it wasn't one massive object but several smaller ones some of which were swallowed by the sun, others that were ejected out of the system entirely, and still others that crashed into other planets which makes more sense since all four inner planets have had large impact events in their pasts
2 points, 1. the sun has to much lithium in it's atmosphere, any lithium should have been burned when the sun first turned on. the only other source for lithium would have been a large planet, (gas) being eaten. 2. if the planet you describe did end up being "planet nine", its mass would mean it would still be pretty hot and the "wise" survey should have seen it. really enjoy your videos, very little speculation and lots of facts
isn't it also thought that the gas giants formed closer to the sun, and jumbled everything around as they wandered outward? and your video on Mercury once being a hot Jupiter was great, too. Lots of good theories...
Anton! when i was looking at nasa livestream recording around the poes i saw a hole the size of england next to greenland! when i told it to people in chat i got muted by the "moderator" and then the cameras switched to nroth scandinavia!!!
(WARNING: DO NOT READ IF YOU HATE STORIES OR LECTURES) jupiter's gravity exchanged the planets and made them backwards when jupiter moved into the solar system (jupiter was mainly an immobile rouge planet although the sun formed close to it and hauled it in when earth just started forming) so the extra and sudden 318 earths (318 earth mass = 1 jupiter mass) was twice as large as all the other planets combined so the gravity pushed all the planets outward except for the terrestrial planets because their mass was much to low to be majorly effected by jupiter, as well as it sent bodies flying everywhere, such as originally mars was in-between mercury and venus although it was just barely small enough for ganymede to effect it so it moved outward beyond earth, and one of those bodies named theia collided with earth around 4 billion years ago and made the moon about 100 million years later, it also saved the asteroid belt from saturn's gravity and caused pluto to form, giving it a moon as well, meanwhile saturn steals a moon from jupiter named titan and caused triton to move much outward into an orbit with neptune
Fantastic video! We might not have proof but this theory sounds very natural. Perhaps this early Protoplanet is Planet 9 and all these objects in those elliptical orbits eg Sedna are the little moons you threw in there. Do you think there is some sort of way a future nasa mission could examine one of these objects and figure out if it used to orbit the Sun much closer?
There is extreme selection bias in the method widely used to detect exoplanets, in that it is far easier to detect a close orbiting "hot Jupiter" than it is to detect a Jupiter sized planet as far from its star as Jupiter is from our sun. We are in a sense merely able to get at the "low hanging fruit" of exoplanets right now.
Question 1: Why do a lot of these other stars have large planets close to them. Answer: That is because many of the methods we use to detect expo planets are particularly sensitive to discovering these types of system. We have no idea how common these types of systems are to other systems. Second point: It's really unlikely that there was a massive object near to the sun in our system. It would have eaten up all the material which made the other planets and left some lasting evidence of its existence, Most current models for these hot Jupiters suggest that they form further out from their sun like our Jupiter and then migrate towards their sun, eating all the inner planets as they do. The model you're using to demonstrate this theory does not apply relativistic effects.
When you explode planets,it will leave a core remnant. After the red giant sun goes nova,it will become a white dwarf. The red giant 's core temperature is higher than the core temperature of the Sun.The sun's core temperature is not high enough to become a white dwarf,so it becomes a black dwarf instead
Maybe it was obliterated and all that remained was Mercury? I've read somewhere that Mercury may once have had a thicker crust, but it was blown away, leaving the tiny but dense planet.
+OmegaEGGY I think that maybe, Mercury was once even a gas giant, but the sun blasted all it's atmosphere away, so only the solid core remained. If this was the case, Mercury would be a cthonian planet. (Anton also made a video about such planets)
Until we know for sure that Planet Nine does (or doesn't) exist, we should be cautious and not assume that it is there when developing theories about planet formation (or in this case, destruction).
There is a theory that jupiter (in the early solar system) came into the rocky planets and eaither slingshotted some planets away, or slingshotted them into the sun.
hey quick question maybe somebody here knows the answer how much is this software it really looks amazing I bet I could spend hours on something like this
I think there might be something closer to the sun than mercury but we can't see it due to the blue sky like we can't see stars during the day time. We can see mercury because it is far enough away from the sun. Did the hubble telescope ever try to search something closer to the sun I wonder? Just an idea.
no seriously, whats that what da math intro song??? Also, i dont believe its common for stars to have close-orbiting planets. i believe we just think many stars have close-orbiting planets because of survivor bias
If this planet was still there today. would it affect the orbits of all the planets in the solar system because of its strong gravitational influences??
I think that our solar system is older than the solar systems with a hot Jupiter. Give them a couple millions of years and I bet you they would look similar to our solar system.
+Spyalectical Crabolism Excuse me , what I meant was he is the best youtuber on RUclips since he actually uploads great videos with a lot of knowledge . But that's just my opinion
Good thing he didn't give it time to completly clear... if he set it to year/sec it would take 31 years in real life time to do one billion years in game...
find it space engine is better but it crashes all the times and universe sandbox making my cpu sweat to much..why haven't let the gpu do all process instead
Some reason I think super earth is earth but lost is mass from a huge impact by a other planet and then the moon was born by dust and rocks from the super earth
So what if all the gods spoken of in history were the people of this 9th Planet that vacated and seeded earth to escape their death, knowing that their planet would be thrown so far, and also knowing it would return one day.
Well, theoreticly it isn't true, becuse even if the sun ate Jupiter it wouldn't be bigger. Because Jupiter is only about 1% of the mass of our solarsystem
Super earth: Sun I know It You! WHERE EARTH?!? Sun: It Been 5000000000000000000000000000000000000 years Super earth: And? Sun: Earth is dead Super earth: NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO HOW Sun: i...blow up.... Super earth: how dare you!!!
+JakeAmvs4Life Yeah the creators of space engine are pretty much focused on the graphics of the game, next to the planet statistics of course. Universe Sandbox is focused on physics and simulation more than the look of the game.

Yea that is a cool idea
+Anton Petrov (WhatDaMath) and also fly in to the sun in sandbox and exit it in space engine.

I stumbled onto this channel by mistake, but found questions and answers to the things I have thought about since I was a child.
Thank you
Anton. Love your channel, man.

I think that would be a great video if you haven't already done that
Keep up the good work!
I believe he has done a video about black hole mergers because I recall him talking about the gravitational waves that LIGO registered.
If you could copy and paste that video link in reply to this message that would be great. However, I would like to know if it's possible to have multiple black holes close together just to see what happens. +Reynante Romano Black holes can indeed merge. That's what will happen when our galaxy collides with Andromeda in a couple billion years.
I just want to see Anton do a simulation with an army of black holes lined up together. What would happen?
They would just merge sadly... nothing would really happen.
whats faster than mercury? quicksilver
I hope that I'm not the only one who gets it
What's faster than quicksilver? breakfast.
And whats faster than breakfast? Idk lol
+Awesome3246 what is faster than breakfast? flash
+Awesome3246 xD
This would explain why the sun is always so gassy...
BA dum tsss
11:04 jajajaja poor planet, he was suffering, so he wanted to scape...
That was funny. I love astronomy, thanks for your videos Anton.
Have you tried to simulate Mercury as a dead core of a gas giant planet that had its atmosphere blown away by solar wind?
ellsworth1956 holy shit. that is actually a really cool idea that I never imagined.
Is this game free?
There is a free version but if you want the full version it's only $20 on Steam!
ellsworth1956 yeah he Already done it
ellsworth1956 tell me how to get it
The name usually giving the lost planet is Vulcan, and I know that sounds funny, but it's true.
I think the radiation pressure blowing everything away from the sun would make more sense.
Beautiful simulation you made. Very interesting video. Thank you.
This would make even MORE sense if the planet was inclined then it could also explain why mercury is so inclined
or the speculation that mercury was once much more massive but had almost all of its crust and mantle blown away in a large planetary impact much like the one responsible for our moon so maybe it wasn't one massive object but several smaller ones some of which were swallowed by the sun, others that were ejected out of the system entirely, and still others that crashed into other planets which makes more sense since all four inner planets have had large impact events in their pasts

planet 9 confirmed! I had that idea before he even said it xD
Most interesting. Would you mind talking about the line between a small brown dwarf and a large gas giant sometime?
I believe he already has.
Hermes might be planet nine
Hermes was actually called Planet X and got kicked out but can still possibly be seen because the orbit goes like a 0
Couldn't Mercury be the core of that planet though?
When you explode planets,it will leave a core remnant. After the red giant sun goes nova,it will become a white dwarf. The red giant 's core temperature is higher than the core temperature of the Sun.The sun's core temperature is not high enough to become a white dwarf,so it becomes a black dwarf instead

My thought exactly!
Don't wanna be a grammar nazi, but this is making me go insane.. It's atmosphere .3.
This might explain how Mars had water and how it was relocated near the edge of the habitable zone.

Is it possible that the planet was ejected at such a high speed that it could be a planet around barnards or maybe proxima
when they find another planet that is confirmed to be habitable , they should name it "seus" because its a greek god
no seriously, whats that what da math intro song??? Also, i dont believe its common for stars to have close-orbiting planets. i believe we just think many stars have close-orbiting planets because of survivor bias
Could it be possible that this planet that was kicked out of orbit be the large object that collided with Earth to form the moon?
maybe this super earth was shoot out to the outer places of the solarsystem and is the reason Pluto and the other dwarf planets have this extrem orbit
planet nine can also be the fifth gas giant of the Nice model too that got kicked out by jupiter and saturn
Wonderful swallowed super Earth
You should make a video in universe sandbox 2 where you destroy as many things as you can with a black hole.
I think he has!
It was thrown out, Nibiru and is now in a long orbit !
If this planet was still there today. would it affect the orbits of all the planets in the solar system because of its strong gravitational influences??
You need more subs man. This channel has taught me a lot. Give me a week or two, b/c I really wanna Donate you some money.
Wrong
How a giant planet external to Earth coming near Sun will not disturb/eat inner planets letting them stay there ??
The only reason why a super earth was not there was because hot jupiters are really rare so that's what I think
whats with your GUI??? mine is still the old GUI??? with the menu at the bottom...
I think that our solar system is older than the solar systems with a hot Jupiter. Give them a couple millions of years and I bet you they would look similar to our solar system.
I dont think it could be planet nine because if it got launched out like that or similar than that how would it get into a orbit with the sun again

This is a joke. Since the sun ate a gas giant and many asteroids, sun is fat! Get it?
See you a round!,get it?
Jb Castor lol
Well, theoreticly it isn't true, becuse even if the sun ate Jupiter it wouldn't be bigger. Because Jupiter is only about 1% of the mass of our solarsystem
+123 Gam3r 321 1% might not sound like much but maybe it's a lot.
+Actinium Oxide if you compare it with the sun then no
Super earth: Sun I know It You! WHERE EARTH?!?
Sun: It Been 5000000000000000000000000000000000000 years
Super earth: And?
Sun: Earth is dead
Super earth: NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO HOW
Sun: i...blow up....
Super earth: how dare you!!!
Is this an app? And if it is what's it called? Also does it cost money
This is Universe Sandbox 2. It is a virtual sandbox for PC and is available on Steam. I believe it costs $20-$30, but I may be mistaken.
Alpha 19 has really great Roche limit effects now.
also you could make a 100% water planet (without a solid core) and have stuff crash into it or vice versa. or have it orbit really close to the sun.
doge says such wow
Hermes was kicked out ultimatly becoming planet x Du Du dududududududu
So that's what happened to the planet of Mondas
I just watched a 3min add that had a starwars pun in it
The Comet is........ Halley's Comet?
What if Hermes became Planet 9 after it was kicked out?
B.m.e best man ever
Hey Anton are any of your students subscribers
why does the artstyle of this game remind me of KSP alpha
answer:yes it swallowed a giant super earth named vulcan.
i play that to!
Planet X maybe if it was kicked out
WAS THE ASTEROID BELT A PLANET?
make a video of making Ceres a life plamet
What was that on the beginning of the video? it wasn't universe sandbox right?
At 0:00 it's Space Engine
AnadroJ oh thanks that space engine is so much more pretty than universe sandbox
+JakeAmvs4Life Yeah the creators of space engine are pretty much focused on the graphics of the game, next to the planet statistics of course. Universe Sandbox is focused on physics and simulation more than the look of the game.
maté so that space engine doesn't have more physics?
+JakeAmvs4Life You can't really do much on space engine rather than look at objects and their statistics. You can check it out yourself. It's free.
what if earth was hermes and then got flung out to current position.. and as it got flinged it captured a big rock /the moon
I believe the current understanding is that earth didn't capture the moon. Rather, a roughly Mars sized object hit earth with a glancing blow that caused a massive amount of debris to form a ring around the world. This ring coalesced into the moon.
Me I should go to sleep RUclips the sun once aya a planet
Me welp let watch
Planet 0 and Planet 9.
Wow the solar system is hugemongous
#blocksthebest
Maybe Hermes is Planet 9.
What if mercury is a chotonian planet
Its too far away from the Sun.
What if the old super earth is the ninth planet AKA Nibiru
You said it was the size of Jupiter so I'm just throwing this out maby it is Jupiter!
Or would it work???
Hermies IS PLANET NINE CONFIRMED!!?!?!?!?!??!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?
PLEASE DONT MAKE 60 FPS VIDEOS MY INTERNET DIES
Lmao
don't watch it in 1080p or 720p?
get youtube +. it let's you disable hfr
Yassssss Planet X
