It is a bit strange that I, as a Dutch petrolhead, watch videos about the history of Newcastle Emlyn, but that I really enjoy it even surprises me, the enthusiasm of Mrs. Hubnut is contagious :)
@@misshubnut I don't know if Wales has its own tourist information office but if it exists they should sponsor you, your enthusiasm could lure a lot of tourists to Wales :)
I used to work for a small haulage firm just outside Drefach Felindre. It is based just up the road in Cwmpengraig. He has a shed full of old tractors and a couple of old lorries. We did a few jobs for The Museum of Internal Fire.
Wow, lovely looking place, that looks well worth a visit, whenever I feel like leaving my little piece of Heaven between Aberystwyth and Tregaron. Thankyou HubNuts.
It's lovely to hear you speaking Welsh your husband is a lucky man, Welsh is a lovely language and being spoken by lovely young lady like yourself, great video they get better and better 😀
These Guided Tours of Welsh villages and historical sites are a fantastic to watch. For me as a South African with Welsh ancestry, and knowing very little about Wales I really enjoy them. Thank you Miss Hubnut, actually thank you to the both of you. Have been subscribed to Hubnut for over a year.
What a great video, I left the UK for Italy about 17 years ago, and yet still miss the beauty of the countryside in the UK. Like to see even Ian got a cameo as well. Such a wonderfully explained tour of the local area with plenty of titbits of local knowledge put in for good measure. I look forward to the next one!
I'm so jealous, I love Italy. I have friends in Sicily and wish I'd left the UK before the brexit catastrophe. I'm trying to apply for an Irish passport. The thought of being trapped in the UK terrifies me.
Enjoying your content, had many a good times in Wales, admittedly up around Gwyneed when at Uni in the mid 70's, and a few more forays over the last 10 years while anoraking Narrow gauge railways...🚂👍😃
Thank you for the historic details of a lovely place to visit. These videos are fabulous lovely to hear the Welsh language been spoken during the filming. Really enjoyed.
How fantastic, and timely too. We're bringing our campervan to the Cardigan Bay area this summer, and at this rate we won't need to bring any guide books with us. We'll have your video guide. Love your enthusiasm.
Smashing little trip around a place that's obviously dear to your heart. Thankyou for all those lovely little tidbits. If you're not careful though, Miss Hubnut, you'll find yourself being followed around by Japanese tourists and you'll have to carry a rolled umbrella with a little flag on top!
Tourism, geography cars and cake. What a combo. I love the idea of a Miss Hubnut Cinderella being swept off her feet by a prince in a 2CV too. I love that salad is a Chip Butty in Welsh too :)
Excellent video well presented you are a natural, had to look on google maps as i`d never heard of it before lovely looking place, like the cameo appearance maybe make it a feature of your videos Mr HubNut pops up with a car related fact lol. 👍😀
Really enjoying these guided tours. Love the little personal references as well. Keep them coming... Very professional, definitely a natural at doing these. subscribed.
Thank you so much for your videos we have just had a weeks holiday staying nearby and your videos have been invaluable to us we've visited Newcastle Emily, Aberaenon, Cardigan and Cenarth Falls to name a few thank you for being our tour guide ❤
Another brilliantly informative video Miss Hubnut! I love how much local knowledge you have gleaned over the years - and particularly how proud you are of your heritage. Fantastic 😊
Carly please keep these videos coming...they are fantastic , i used to tour all over north and mid wales and your telling stuff that even i didn't know
Another cracking tour of Wales @Miss Hubnut and another lovely video, in Scotland we would call them a chip roll, and that's my dinner sorted for Thursday a Chip Roll.
Well yet another interesting video from Miss Hubnut, I am really enjoying visiting her local places of interest & finding out about each place in turn. I can't wait for the next episode. Fantastic work Miss Hubnut.👍🎉🎉🎉🌹🌹
The China Kitchen could warn ships from crashing into the rocks in a thick fog, despite the coast being 10 miles away with that masonry paint choice. 😁 First class video Miss HubNut. Interesting, entertaining and enjoyable.
Another great video. I’m always amazed (I know I shouldn’t be considering the English built our towns too) how similar your buildings, houses and street layouts are to ours here in Ireland.
What a lovely looking place! The river looks stunning! Yours and Ian’s lunch has made me feel hungry and who doesn’t love a castle? I hope I can visit one day and maybe see the waterfall too🤞🏻 I too really enjoy your videos! Please keep em coming!!👍👍👍
Love that area, visited the castle when staying near the Museum of Internal Fire, nothing to do with dragons! Nice to see more of Wales other than through Ian's windscreen.
I love the way you present your informative podcasts. They are well presented and very informative. I look forward to learning more about the delights of west and mid Wales.
Lovely stuff, your little branch of the HubNut empire of You Tube channels continues to encourage me back to Wales, I read John Cowper Powys's epic "Owen Glendower" a couple of years back and have always wanted to explore further. The only time I passed through Newcastle Emlyn I failed to find satisfactory cake resulting in dissappoinment in Aberystwyth (not a film title...) as referenced in my comment on that video ! BTW tell Mr Hubnut that the first ever Bathurst 500 was won by a PA Cresta (in the strange absence of any Holdens....)
Thank you, Miss HubNut ...."Emlyn" has just been somewhere I drive through on the way to Internal Fire, but now I see it's a place of interest in its own right. Next time, I'll stop and have a proper look around (and keep an eye open for the wiber!) .
I find these strangely relaxing to watch, plus I’m learning a bit about Wales, and food! It’s like an episode of Wish you were here? without the prices at the end!
You’re a credit to the Welsh tourist board - I miss our trips to the beautiful country! (Ps, it’s a bostin’ chip butty where I come from - the Black Country!)
Your knowledge on the history of every place you've covered in videos is amazing and something to marvel at. The detail you go into with every landmark and significant event is truly wonderful to listen to, I could listen to you for hours. I love sitting down and watching your videos of all the places you visit Miss Hubnut (and Mr) as well, Wales is a lovely place. The cake looked divine! Cheers from New Zealand, hopefully you and the family can visit one day :)
Thank you, I really enjoy making these videos. Particularly as I'm still learning about a place that is so familiar to me. The cake was indeed delicious! Hopefully when the world is more normal we'll be Hubnut international!
Hello from Newcastle upon Tyne here on the North East the castle is on the banks of the river Tyne to you and yours in Newcastle Emlyn on the banks of the river Tyver.
What a great video. So lucky to find you, we move to Penrhiwllan very soon, all the way from the smallest county in England. Your videos are a gift! So looking forward to moving to your glorious country. Just need to practice pronouncing Penrhiwllan!
Hellan is home of Teife Valley Railway which is the narrow gauge railway built on the remains of the standard gauge railway that used to be there. They are looking at reaching Newcastle-Emlyn but a few years ago it was shutdown to spend money on upgrading the track. They need quite a bit of money to rebuild the once present bridge that was removed when British Railways closed the line so they can actually reach their preferred destination of Newcastle-Emlyn.
What a lovely video to watch whilst eating lunch, I have a friend who lives in Adpar (owns a Moggy Minor), I did a placement in Emlyn during my second year of the nursing degree, also have had a lovely meal out in a curry house and countless lovely lunches in various cafes and pubs around the area. Looking forward to the next tour.
This is a wonderful idea for a series. Virtual tours of your neighbourhood and local areas of interest. That chip buttey reminded me of trips to my grandparents in Leigh, Lancs. ... not the kind of thing you'd see on the average cafe menu in Canada. Cheers!
Miss Hubnut, I love your work. Your cameraman does a good job too. I think you work well together. Oh Yes I also really like your tour of your town. You're a natural! Thanks from Sydney.
40 something years ago we stayed in Llanpumsaint. One day we were moseying along the pavement in Newcastle Emlyn (just where you were at 4:10) when we bumped into our neighbours from 250 miles away in Sussex; neither knew the other was here. At that time the station was still there, although disused. In fact, the track all the way down past Bronwydd Arms was still in situ. Since then the southern bit has been reopened as a standard gauge line but I think the Henllan bit is narrow gauge. We've been to Drefach Velindre several times and managed to create yarn on a spinning wheel. We still have a number of bobbins which I think they were giving away in the early days.
Really enjoying your videos! Your narrative skills and friendly nature are your best features on these. Learned some great facts too. Would love to see a video of Chester if you make it up this way! Also along the North Wales coast. Thanks again! And that VXR8 nee Holden and Carlton - thanks for sharing Ian! And it’s definately Chip Butty
I hope the Wales Tourist Board appreciate the excellent job you're doing in showcasing how beautiful the country is 😁
Nice video Miss Hubnut, one error though, that was definitely not the last dragon in wales, my mother in law has lived there since 2007 😃☺️
Ooof vicious!!

Yes, I was wondering what happened to Ian's salad.
