Our favourite secret! Llangrannog - a Miss HubNut Guided Tour
We almost didn't make this video, because the tiny village of Llangrannog in west Wales is an absolute delight. Stunning scenery, great food and some fascinating history - including the legendary Cranogwen - a feminist before her time.

Our first RUclips video sampling delicious.. And not so delicious snacks from Portugal. The first video for the Miss Hubnut channel. This channel is for my thoughts, Hubnut insights and fleet members and of course food! Created by InShot:inshotapp.com/share/youtube.html
Just discovered that you and Ian made these videos (I do subscribe to the main channel which is great) and just wanted to say thankyou for sharing your knowledge on Wales. I've visited many times from the Midlands but you've definitely told me things I didn't know! All the best to you both 👍
I am English and first visited Llangrannog in August 1961 - the girl that I loved (who was Welsh) drove me there in her Dads´s car and we sat on the beach which was considerably less crowded than today - in fact we were the only ones on it! I will NEVER forget Llangrannog or the wonderful lady who introduced me to the place - regretably our relationship did not work out - but I still remember them both with great affection.
Went through it once ,bit like a wild west town.!!!😂
We used to toddle over to Llangrannog on Boxing Day for a christmas pudding ice-cream on the beach. That was over 15 years ago tho, so it's probably different these days.

Have done the rail trip Porthmadog to Aberystwyth. Marvellous journey. 🎉😂❤
He,s not the only one who likes chocolate 😂
You are taking me back to all my old haunt s and your commentaries are brilliant. 🎉❤😊
Went for a job interview to Cardigan in the 70,s and from North Wales it was a marathon, by rail via Cardiff.!!!!
Aber is mouth
I recently walked from Llangrannog to Penbryn along the coast path
Diolch am greu cytbwys a theg ac am roi sylw i’r Gymraeg.
What a lovely place
Ardderchog! Diolch yn fawr.
One of our favourite places too - and Aberporth just down the coast. Not had pizza there, so will definitely be checking out their opening hours this winter. Learnt a lot. Thank you
My hubby and I found it too many years ago seeking an army surplus business..... I must tell you we don't share it with others we never want it to change. Thank you so much.
Another Puritan Ban All Enjoyment.
Went there parking was a nightmare turned around and never went back ,😢😢😢aberavon beach for me thanks
ghost town
Stayed at the Urdd camp in the very late sixties I think , first proper kiss of my life there with a beautiful girl from Llanelli. North met south just for a short time.
Very impressed with all your pronunciation. Have a look for the history of a very famous Welsh poet by the name of Dic Jones. A self taught farmer who lived a stone's throw from Cwmtydi.
Lovely upload. Thanks
Somehow I had already guessed she loved her Fanny 🙊
Llangranog is a beautiful place and the rail carriage on the hill is beautiful little dwelling
Oh. such a well crafted video. showing off Wales at it's best, the little secret hideaways waiting to be discovered all around this magical land.
Nice place, passed through in 60s. But being today in 2024, if townies and cityites see it, the place will be swamped and ruined.
What a delightful video - thank you. Such happy memories from over half a century ago ❤
Went to devils bridge on the train decided to walk down to see the bridges from low down came back up missed last train to Aberystwyth had to catch the bus back still these things happen. Love your tours and Ians car videos love to bump into you both one day
Stopped there years ago a little b and b on the front breakfast was ready when a 3 foot gong in the hall was rang. We were in a 1964 mini traveller one without the wood.went on seal trip on the iolanthe to cwmtddu enjoyed every minute of it
Great place absolutely scandalos rip off Number plate recognition car park at the bottom... a total scam , if you overstay by 5 minutes they are relentless with the fines, their are thousands who gave been scammed, park at the top you have been warned...
Try parking there, you’ll get a ticket. The biggest rip off parking in west Wales. Known very well by the locals but not by visitors, so beware!!!!
Wales has to be the most beautiful part of the British Isles, maybe tied with west coast of Ireland :)
I have wonderful memories of the place from my visits in the late 60s. My parent took me on holidays to New Quay and Aberporth and we visited Llangrannog on more than one occasion….great surfing.
We had a lovely break in Aberaeron earlier this year after watching your video, so thank you! We also had a great day out in New Quay.
Fabulous video guys, it’s been really helpful with the planning of our Morris Minor trip to The Elan Valley next Easter 2025 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼 definitely including chocolate ❤❤
80 years ago today... A Vickers Wellington bomber took off from RAF Peplow in Shropshire on 23 August 1944 for night training but was diverted to the airfield at Aberporth after the engines stopped working. At 11.50pm the pilot attempted to land on the flat expanse of Argoed meadow, but the plane continued across the meadow and into the river Teifi, crashing into the opposite bank. One of the airmen who died was a Norwegian. During the war, thousands of Norwegians escaped German occupation of their homeland and found their way to Britain. Many trained to become pilots and aircrew and flew alongside the Allies in the Royal Air Force under the badge of the Royal Norwegian Air Force. Two of the six crew members survived the crash: radio operator Sgt John (Johnnie) Robertshaw and rear gunner Sgt Howard Hawkins. Both attended a memorial ceremony in Cenarth in 1994, 50 years after the accident. The airmen who died are commemorated by a plaque at the village’s war memorial.
I live here - so thank you so much for this. What a lovely video - it is truly a remarkable place.
Nice vid but no mention of good watering holes a nice cold beer on a sunny day goes down well.😢
This has only just appeared in my stream! Aberaeron is our favourite place. We often drive up just for an ice cream (the Hive obviously!) Interesting finding more of the history of the place 🙂
I spent many summers in New Quay as a child - and the smell of fish and chips mixed with the salty tang of drying fishing nets will always remind me of those times.
Thank you for a jolly interesting tour. This is somewhere we've overlooked hitherto. But maybe we'll have a day out if the weather improves. I remember our son coming to the Urdd place many years ago when he was in primary school.
Next time you visit pop up stairs to the Craft of Hearts community centre on the first floor, we have a lots of bookable sessions where you can learn all sorts of crafts, we have dabble days where you can try anything from pyrography, jewellery making to everything mixed media, and so much more
My auntie moved to Aberystwyth 30 years ago when I was a little kid and we would go visit her a lot, I loved visiting Devil's Bridge and still have the disposable camera photos in my attic :)
It's a beautiful place, my favourite beach! ❤
I lived in tregaron and went to school in the early 90s then moved to Aberaeron which is just as beautiful and special. Now i live in Birmingham and i hate it,if i found a job i would for sure move back. I had my 1st snog in that pub hotel in the town when we had a school Halloween party..
Aberaeron was planned until Ceredigion County Council took control of planning. The result is Colditz, an estate down by the promenade and the Mosque, which is officially called Penmorfa, formerly part of Pengarreg farm, the yard of which is now a retail centre. The Mosque is in fact the home of Ceredigion County Council and their planning department which is notorious nationwide for its horrendous planning decisions [including the mosque itself] but mainly for allowing cheap generic bungalows to be built willy nilly all over the county and the old brutalist water board building which is now our integrated health centre which does bugger-all integration and has itself gained a terrible reputation since moving there. It’s no longer fit for purpose. Not the building but the doctor’s practice.
My parents live there and, yes, "Balamory" for sure! 😊
The lifeboats have been saved! Two new state of the art boats have been dedicated and formerly handed over this May of 2024, having been delivered and used for up to the last year or so. The all weather big boy has been mostly donated by a potato farmer that has financed I think five around the UK coast. The inshore boat has largely been financed by a legacy and is named after the benefactor. Lets not forget all the people, local and otherwise, that raise money to finance this essential service and keep it going day to day, plus the brave volunteers that man them.
