This made my day. I can smell the stale water. The ride is thick with that smell, and it's actually a happy smell full of fun memories.
That's just what I was thinking...I LOVE that smell too! ...it really makes the ride

Okay. We're onto something here. If anyone from Disney merchandising is reading this thread, you have to make bottled Pirates of the Caribbean scent for us to spray in our cars.
Docktor Jim I agree, Disney has a distinct smell. I swear I can tell its there in the stores. Its like "fog machine" and "new magazine" or something like that.
I thought that the drop in the beginning of the ride was a big drop, now that I see it, it isn't that high
But holy crap, does that ceiling look low!

I suggest you ride this ride when you're hot and tired. It's very cool inside and very relaxing.

PopsyCandy yea i agree for the4 first time ever i went on it last year but only because there was a really short line, cuz my mom and my sister and her friend didn't want to wait and i was thinking Oh come on!!!!!!

When I was young, I thought the first drop was MUCH larger than it actually is.

Funny cause I thought the opposite. I thought the drop was really small as a teenager and now in my 30s it scared the daylights out of me and felt huge lol

I used to work at this ride. And there are exactly 3 jack sparrows in the entire ride, but sometimes there are 4. If you saw 4 jack sparrows then you actually saw Johnny Depp, he likes to hang out in the ride to surprise guests in full makeup/ costume. I met him multiple times

Thank you. My son gets scared a lot on these rides. The loud noises and moving animatronics freak him out. We watched this video together and he was "Oh, is that it? I like that ride, it moves slow" again, thank you.
I was scared of the animatronics when I was little, as a teenager now they're still a little creepy to me, but not as scary as I thought then.

Sophiie that's actually a damn good idea. It could be bigger than the first drop to get people wet.
I get panic attacks in rides that have drops or go really really fast...
the drops are small and it doesn't go fast for long. It's worth it.
Same here I usually just count before the drops and hold on it works although sadly even though the second drop is smaller it barely gives you time to relax from the first one

The darkness makes your brain think the fall is a lot longer. It's the very reason Space Mountain drops feel longer then they are.

They made the drop bigger 😊😊 but its so much fun when you get on you feel like your dropping for a long time. Im a cry baby when it comes to drops but i love this ride!

Diego87 the drop is 53 ft. Taller than splash mountain. Google it. It's a slower drop due to the angel of the slope. But it's taller

When I was about 5 years old I cried on this ride so much, even before the drop. I never wanted to go on this thing again. However 7 years later I went on it.
My parents took me on this when I was a baby lol

I went to Disneyland to celebrate my birthday and I got on the pirates of the Caribbean ride. I felt like falling down 200 ft. It's one of my favorite rides.

This is one of my favorite Disneyland rides. My first one is Space Mountain or Hyperspace Mountain or whatever you want to call it.
Very good camera work!! Very cool to see one of the coolest rides in full detail like this.
I loved this ride in 1982 and I still love it today. The beginning part with the banjo player is great. They dont have that part at Disney Florida
Love this ride but those drops get me every time! I have a pretty weak stomach so even though those drops are pretty small I still get queasy before getting on the ride just thinking about them and when we're about to go down I freak out a little.

Oh, yes. I know this one. It is marked as my favorite PoftheC video on RUclips. You did an excellent job. I've watched it about 40 times so far in the last month. You have the best visual of the bayou at the beginning that I've seen. That is my favorite part of the ride. If only I could afford to build it in my back yard (sigh)

My sin who just turned 2 is watching with suck amazement. Lol he was 6months old when he first went on. He been to the park 5 times. Spoiled? Yes! But this is childhood memories of fun. Merry Christmas and happy holidays 2015 is coming. Enjoy the Lil things yall
This is great to see cause when I was young my parents tortured me by forcing me on rides like this. Of course when your a kid the imagination takes over, so you think all types of bad stuff can happen. The ride looks very easy, however I still wouldn’t go on it cause I’m traumatized, and the two drops would stress me out!

I had the biggest obsession with pirates as a kid and i remember it was 4:18 when that obsesion began i must of been 2 or 3 years old and i remember it vividly seeing that shipwreck with the skeloton on the wheel and i thought it was the coolest thing
That first drop didn’t feel that big to begin with, then I see how small it REALLY is and there’s hardly any drop there... What a thrill ride
Someone had said that disney added a wind effect to make the first drop feel big. Luckily I shouldn't be terrified of it no more lol

First time I went on this I didn't know there was a drop till it actually happened lol it was still fun though

Whenever I went to Disneyland, I always made it my prerogative to go on this nautical shoot the chute classic. I always like a good shoot the chute ride like this one and Jurassic Park/World at universal studios.
