And in this very short window of time, Sifo Dyas was vulnerable to the influence of Palpatine who had been keeping close tabs on the gifted and clairvoyant jedi. @@CazzyVR Except they did, though it was done more like a radio drama, at least the audio version. In the story, a youngling Dooku runs into his biological sister while the Jedi attend a festival on his home planet, he begins to secretly contact her, on top of that, he begins to disagree with the Jedi, saying they aren't being proactive, too focused on following the rules than solving the problems, and so on and so on. It was a little rushed in my opinion, but I thought the story was well written
It's crazy how easily the animated Star Wars leaves the current sequels in the dust. I could watch the clone wars series a hundred times and still enjoy it.
Interesting... It would be cool if this Sifo Dyas dude had a vision of the destruction of Alderaan... And by telling Dooku about the evil weapon, he may inadvertently be "the creator" of such weapon.
Didn't Yoda make a comment it was harder for them to see through the veil for foresight because of the dark side? Thus the Jedi's rule against foresight would be more about their inability to trust what they see and cover up the fact they were weakening from the public. If that's the case, then Sifo Dyas wouldn't have had to have gotten his foresight under control. He would have been the only member on the council who's foresight was actually still effective. Making him a council member to keep that foresight close-by makes a lot of sense.
I still want to see a film for Master Tholme. He's very much underappreciated even though he trained two of the most recogniseable Jedi in lore today: Quinlan Vos and Aalya Secura. He even survived Order 66 and had this 'Sherlock Holmes' vibe with how he handled matters, feigning death multiple times. Plus he and Dooku had awesome history.
In the book, Plagues in guise of a banker, was discussing the problems of the republic and his intention was to plant the idea of an army. Qui gon was there too.
I remember someone used to theorize that Sifo Dyas was corrupted by Plagueis who used him to infiltrate the Jedi and give dangerous ideas and then Sifo Dyas survived Dooku's assassination attempt thanks to Plagueis who by that time had transferred his soul Jar Jar, and then Sifo became Snoke
I think Sifo had less visions as time went on, showing less need of him to hide it, but perhaps during Dooku’s final years in the Jedi Order, by time as Sifo himself as a celebrated Jedi Master the visions returned and informed him of the Clone Wars which made him act in creating the Clone Army Anakin never shown control over his foresight neither and seemed to only encountered them a few times as a Jedi And it adds to why Dooku had to kill his former friend, not only for his Rite of passage as a Sith Lord by killing someone close to him, but because Sifo may or had already at the time foreseen the truth of Order 66 making him a loose end if the Sith was to continue their plan in secret
In the book Plageous it's explained that Darth Plageous puts the idea in his head to create the clone army for use years later when Plageous has sideous pressure the trade federation to put the blockade up around naboo. The whole plot to take over the senate was not sideous/palpatines plan. It was his master Darth Plageous plan. Plageous was alive halfway through the first movie but worked so much in the shadows no one knew about him.
Lucas dropping the Sifo Dyas character story could have been merged into General Grievous character or simply handled better, unless it was a seed (and not book bait) for the further outcome of the saga. Like the rule of two, Sifo Dyas and then Darth Plagues the wise. As many still believe Old Palpy was a shapeshifter or jumped body to body and was in fact all of these evil men. But no Sifo is a zealous hobo in a cave with visions. What has become the tales of Sifo Dyas are a disappointing outcome of poor story planning and inturn a bunch of retconning. In Attack of the Clones Obi Wan was like a detective hot on the trail to the likes of Sherlock Holmes or Philip Marlow and was gonna find out who was behind all of this! Yet never found out about him and reports ..."they mentioned this Jedi Master Sifo Dyas" then Yoda and Mace brushing it off as..oh yeah that guy. As if the character was no big thing forcing the story along. The building of the Empire and destroying the Jedi were from the manipulation of a puppet master pulling strings. The Clones being selected by someone else and landing in Palpatine's lap is luck not part of a cohesive or strategic plan. It's like Pearl harbor just happened and a General says to the President, oh by the way if you want to go to war now, it just so happens a General during WWI ordered a million tanks and a bunch of airplanes...and there almost ready for delivery!!! Obi Wan said Anakin was already a great pilot when he met him and a cunning warrior and that he fought along side him during the Clone Wars, this is where Lucas should of gone. As in the Clone Wars were already happening, and being fought over cloning rights for clones of many species were being used as slaves and now soldiers in a Dark Time of galactic upheaval...but no let's make Anakin 10 tears old and having been conceived by an ancient guy with nano-micro-chloriphilic gynecological powers. I dealt with it so far and could still deal with what has been done. Perhaps Ep9 will tie it up with an ingenious twist or even providing to the audience that perhaps there was a plan all along as if some facepalm moment that puts smiles on everyone's faces and everything is securely tightened up for the end.
All these amazing Star Wars backstories that we’ll never see on the big screen 😔 I remember reading the Shadow of the Empire books and thinking Disney dropped the ball by not adapting them for films.
The more you learn about the Jedi Order leading up to the Clone Wars, the more you start to realize just how badly the Jedi had lost their way and a revolution was badly needed. (Though I would still argue an all out purge was going too far.)
@@ianfortuna9385 and let's not forget that Obi-Wan mentioned that Dyas died nearly 10 years ago. It seemed like a good reasonable assumption that Qui-Gon jinn was Dyas. Just using a different name
Megatron 95 I know also as a child you don't pay attention to much detail I know I sure didn't watching the first movie I know he said his name but not too often
Ian Fortuna I think so, yeah. But why did he ordered it in the first place? Because of his visions? Then why he didn’t see the aftermath like Order 66?🤔
What about a fan story with Sifo Dias? What if Sifo Dias was still alive? Or something. Since he maybe got his visions under control, how would that have helped Anakin?
I could see this spurring him (Dooku) to learn the Dark side for his political motivations, greatly. the ability to see and control the future would be impactful
I always had a thought that Dooku pretended to be Sifo and was the one who had the come army built, with that and Jango Fett claiming to been hired as well, but one of Dooku's minions
Dooku: Jedi Lost is such a great book - I could not put it down! The statement you made that there will be a sequel to it really has me excited because I trust your knowledge of what's happening in our Star Wars 'universe'!!! I now want to buy more Star Wars comics and books and read it all voraciously thanks to your excellent videos, where a lot of storyline Is supplied from SW comic books - comics, like Darth Vader, which I didn't even know existed (shame on me - what kind of fan am I?!?!) until watching your videos!! Thanks to the emergence of the last set of Star Wars movies, beginning with The Force Awakens, my interest in SW became rejuvenated after lying dormant without any new material (remember, I knew nothing of the comics and grocery stores stopped selling comics since the 1980s - (And why is that anyway?!!) but now I know I have a couple solid mediums through which I can continue to feed my hunger for Star Wars in-between and likely post the last release of the SW motion pictures made and I thank you for helping to make that possible!! The videos are very entertaining and interesting!!! One question I thought i'd slip in, however: what is/was the actual fate of the Darth Maul character?!? This is a story from "a long time ago" after all! So whatever of his conclusion and how?? Thank you so much!!!
I always assumed Dooku commissioned the clone army secretly under the alias of Sifo Dyas. It would make sense he would want to do this secretly with the help/influence of Sidious and then shift blame to the Jedi for the army creation.
That pic wasn’t he and Syfo, that was Dooku & Lorian Nodd. HE was his best friend when he was a kid, who then became his rival he had to take down with Qui-Gon years later. Then Qui-Gon had to deal with him again with Obi-Wan years after that. Legacy of the Jedi and Secrets of the Jedi are both awesome novels.
When I was a little kid and saw Attack of the Clones I thought that Qui-Gon Jinn and Sifo-Dyas were the same person (like Sifo-Dyas was another name Qui-Gon had) I don’t know why I thought that though
I kinda thought that too for another time, or that it was an alias Qui-Gon used. I think it's because Kamino's Prime Minister said, "Please tell *your* Master Sifo-Dyas..."
@@sharp52092 while I thought the same, I later came to realize they could have been using "the Royal 'you'" in that context (applying it to the whole group you're representing rather than you yourself).
Same, however for me I got the idea when obi wan replies on kamino: "master Sifo-Dyas died almost 10 years ago", being roughly the same period when Qui-Gon died.
Obi-Wan Kenobi: Master Sifo-Dyas was killed, almost ten years ago. Lama Su: Oh. I am so sorry to hear that, but I'm sure he would have been very proud of the army we've built for him.
Do you think that Palpatine had something to do with the visions that Sifo-Dias had? If not how could Palpatine have known about the clones to have order 66 implanted into them?
I think the visions of the darkness were self fulfilling like the visions Anakin had of padme or like the one those Jedi masters has before they tired to kill their padawans. So by getting the army he inadvertently set it in motion. It was just done too perfectly for it to be a target or opportunity type thing

Loved this because it spoke about a Jedi I would've loved to have seen in action
Finally my favorite Jedi master gets talked about!
Was he the one with the staff
Just bought both the Canada Day and Independence Day shirts as I am a dual citizen. Love the designs. I really enjoyed the video as usual.
6:39 For the same reason they made Anakin a council member when he wasn't even a Master yet; to keep him closer.
5:11 You can't help someone get through a seizure, you have to wait for it to pass.
Damn those 2016 theories were wild asf
Muh immersion was shattered when I screamed HONDOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!
Great coverage
I think Sifo had less visions as time went on, showing less need of him to hide it, but perhaps during Dooku’s final years in the Jedi Order, by time as Sifo himself as a celebrated Jedi Master the visions returned and informed him of the Clone Wars which made him act in creating the Clone Army
Anakin never shown control over his foresight neither and seemed to only encountered them a few times as a Jedi
And it adds to why Dooku had to kill his former friend, not only for his Rite of passage as a Sith Lord by killing someone close to him, but because Sifo may or had already at the time foreseen the truth of Order 66 making him a loose end if the Sith was to continue their plan in secret
I just fucking love seeing '70s Christopher Lee in Dooku mode, but those sideburns...
Awesome! Keep up the good work 👍🏿👍🏿
Is there a passage about dooku, the construction of his lightsaber, and his decision to build a curved hilt? If so can you cover it!
All these amazing Star Wars backstories that we’ll never see on the big screen 😔
I remember reading the Shadow of the Empire books and thinking Disney dropped the ball by not adapting them for films.
Sick halloween merch? Ive been waiting for this
The more you learn about the Jedi Order leading up to the Clone Wars, the more you start to realize just how badly the Jedi had lost their way and a revolution was badly needed. (Though I would still argue an all out purge was going too far.)
In all honesty and when attack of the Clones came out, I thought that Siyfo Dyas was Qui-Gon jinn. The reason why is the scene of Dooku and Obi-Wan
Megatron 95 I thought the same thing
@@ianfortuna9385 and let's not forget that Obi-Wan mentioned that Dyas died nearly 10 years ago. It seemed like a good reasonable assumption that Qui-Gon jinn was Dyas. Just using a different name
Megatron 95 I know also as a child you don't pay attention to much detail I know I sure didn't watching the first movie I know he said his name but not too often
Олег Моcrow you think Syfo Dyas cut a big corner by putting in an order for a clone army?
Ian Fortuna I think so, yeah. But why did he ordered it in the first place? Because of his visions? Then why he didn’t see the aftermath like Order 66?🤔
What about a fan story with Sifo Dias? What if Sifo Dias was still alive? Or something. Since he maybe got his visions under control, how would that have helped Anakin?
i love that music in background
COOL VIDEO WHICH I MISSED SOMEHOW... AWESOME
With such foresight giftings he really should have warned Anakin about sand...
I could see this spurring him (Dooku) to learn the Dark side for his political motivations, greatly. the ability to see and control the future would be impactful
Sifo-Dyas sounds to be one of the saddest stories. tormented by the force and ultimately used as a pawn between the two sides due to it.
I prefer Legends, where Darth Plagueis, in disguise as Hego Damask, convinced Sifo Diyas to place the order for the clone army in his name.
Yeah. Much better than this canon.
Digging that thumbnail. Excellent choice
The lack of mental health awareness in the Star Wars universe may be the greatest cause death
I always had a thought that Dooku pretended to be Sifo and was the one who had the come army built, with that and Jango Fett claiming to been hired as well, but one of Dooku's minions
Smh the Jedi became so blind. They want you to use and embrace your gifts yet condemn them
Dooku: Jedi Lost is such a great book - I could not put it down! The statement you made that there will be a sequel to it really has me excited because I trust your knowledge of what's happening in our Star Wars 'universe'!!! I now want to buy more Star Wars comics and books and read it all voraciously thanks to your excellent videos, where a lot of storyline
Is supplied from SW comic books - comics, like Darth Vader, which I didn't even know existed (shame on me - what kind of fan am I?!?!) until watching your videos!!
Out of top clone war anime needed the fall of the Jedi that was so awesome
In Portuguese syfo dias sounds like "fuck himself" and count dooku sounds like "ass' count" and i swear i'm not joking
Maybe they had him on the council like they did with anakin. So they could keep a closer eye on him?
Same, however for me I got the idea when obi wan replies on kamino: "master Sifo-Dyas died almost 10 years ago", being roughly the same period when Qui-Gon died.
sharp52092 yeah that might be why I thought that
Axidian yeah I think it was that (plus I didn’t know the time gap between episode 1 and 2 at that time) and what sharp52092 said that confused me
Sifo dyas is a gift for any portuguese speaking Star Wars fan
It's Unfair!!!!!!!
Amazing video
Sifo Dyas, Sifo Dyas! ♫♪♪♪♪♫ Sifo Dyas, Sifo Dyas! ♫♪♪♪♪♫ Sifo Dyas, Sifo Dyas! oh, oh, oh, Sifo Dyas!
You're a Prophet Sifo Dyas!
Damn... Sifo really got the raw end of the deal on that one. o_o;
I would love to see a movie based on this, with the actor Hiroyuki Sanada.
I think the visions of the darkness were self fulfilling like the visions Anakin had of padme or like the one those Jedi masters has before they tired to kill their padawans. So by getting the army he inadvertently set it in motion. It was just done too perfectly for it to be a target or opportunity type thing
"Son of a fisherman who came to the temple." I wonder where i heard that before.
Isn't it lovely how the Canon books etc have great stories and lore, and yet Disney can't even make a decent movie in the sequels for the life of them (so far), vids like this just keep reiterating that, it's so sad...
I loved this audible
Nice Video :)
You should do a video on what if Anakin never had his dreams
hello there
The legend that is star wars theory✌🏻followed you since day one dude awesome you have such a following now🤘🏼I watch every video. Keep it going 👍🏻-shoutoutfromtheuk
Hey Mister SWT, i Really love your content and your Videos! Appreciating your work and everything you‘re doing for us! But i Want to Tell you that i liked the old outro more than Your latest one... i Loved obi-wan‘s „remember the Force Will Be with you ... always“ but i‘m also cool with you Telling me! But what i really really miss is Darth Sidious‘s „fulfill your destiny“
I really like the videos about dooku there very interesting to hear about things before he turned to the dark side
I think I remember seeing him on the show. He looked like a freak! More than Star Wars characters usually do.
At least we get to know the legacy and origin of Jedi Master Sifo Dyas.
