Hey Bill, what a great story, , it's rare that someone famous like that just pops into your life - you might say your 15 minutes of fame, Thanks for sharing it with us as the new year gets going. Cheers Bob

Thanks for the kind words, Bob. I'm glad you enjoyed the story. I was only there about 6 months. Apparently rod Stewart always made it a point to drop in to check out the model trains.

That's a nice memory to have. Very cool of them to write you out a comment like that.

Enjoyed your sharing about Mötley Crüe, and seeing your Scrapbook. Bill Williams looks a little like Mr. Gower, the druggist in 'Its A Wonderful Life.' Being that close to Vince Neil and Nikki Sixx, took me back to 1973, and seeing the Guess Who for a concert at the University of Waterloo gymnasium. There was no stage, just the gym floor and the band. I was feet away from Randy and Burton as they played. No camera (or cell phone, of course) with me. Loved the concert, but came out with my ear drums hissing. Those were the days of little to no security. A lot different now. Thanks for taking us back in time, down your Memory Lane, especially those of us of that same vintage. :)

That's awesome, I love the story. And as someone just turning 40 it helped me feel LESS old hahaha, knowing I was less than a year old at the time

As an kid growing up in Ottawa (9-10 years of age) (58 now!😮😝)
I was a regular at HOBBYLAND, every Saturday afternoon after getting my allowance from mom and dad, HOBBYLAND was the GO TO PLACE, my father TOM PARSONS SR owned a LOCKSMITH SHOP on SUMMERSET ight next to the SUMMERSET MOVIE THEATER. And I would make my TREK to Slater and O'Connor to spend my 5 bucks, sometimes $10 bucks on models or train set stuff.
I loved HOBBYLAND I was sad to see it closed up and moved away.
I believe it's now called HOBBY HOUSE on Montreal road (correct me if I'm wrong about that!)
But now I'm.a regular at HOBBY CENTER, I've been an off and on regular but a regular now that I'm back into modeling.
I do remember Peggy and O'L Bill!
God bless them❤ they were awesome folks to me back when.
Thanks Bill, HOBBY CENTER I find has the best deals on kits and supplies.
