  • A review of the Wilson Shift, 315, 18x20 tennis racquet.
In the video I briefly compare it to the 300 16x20 and discuss some of its key features.
I also consider strings and string set ups that might work best in the shift line.

I had to do the same thing with my strings with this racquet. Bumped up to 56 lbs from 53 but i also had to add 2 g of lead at 10 and 2 to get it to work for my liking. This is a great doubles racquet

I happen to love the 315 but mine is below spec on swingweight - about 293g unstrung - and I find the plow through combined with easy access to spin make it easy to control and hit balls deep. The strings I like best in it so far are Lynx Tour and Alu Power soft @ around 48 lbs, but agree that once the tension starts to drop, especially in the alu power soft, it becomes very powerful and difficult to control.

Thanks Jorge, I do think Lynx Tour would pair with it well and plan to try that 👍

You have a 315 that is 293g unstrung? That may be the one of the most out of spec racquets ever. I have only seen a few of these, and all were close to the specified weight, but they were commercial racquets, that weren't part of the pre-release

@@roypeterka What do they look like please? I'm weighing if I'd buy the minimalist looking Labs version or wait for the retail look.. Is it same grey-white plus some bright orange as people say?

@@jorgetirado3201 Unit for swingweight is kgcm2, but it's rarely written. so people just write 293sw not to confuse it with 293g

I tried the 315. I agree with the consistency. I didnt understand when the racquet wants to grap for spin, and when it wanted to go flat. Could it be the flex sideways?

Probably, but string spacing can be a factor too. Like Prince 18x20 and Speed Pro are wider than others in sweet spot, which IMO improves stringed consistency. Whereas Prestige and Blade are denser in the center for more precision on well-hit shots, at the cost of less predictable results outside sweet spot.
