I love LOVE when she tells us about her home and what it was like living there. Like how she said durian was very expensive and when they could afford it she and her mom would lock the door and eat it in their house so people wouldn’t come asking.
@Erica Latif That’s what I’ve heart about Durian. I’ve never had the opportunity to taste it, but I’m not sure I’d be able to get past the smell either unless I plug my nose, but then it’s harder to taste what you’re eating.
In contrary, when you are hooked on it. The smell is the most wonderful smell of all. The trick to eat it the 1st time is concentrate on the taste not the smell. People make mistake by thinking about the smell 1st,and that will ruin the taste.
You can literally feel the love come from her when she speak about her home.....found the story about eating the durian with her mother funny and so sweet. Haven't watch moon and tiki for about a week and now I remember why I binge watched a couple of weeks ago....love this family ......every one needs another moon in their life xx
I never heard of Durian, but if nature makes it with needles on the outside, that hard to open, and a pungent smell, that is 3 good reasons not to eat it! I’m with you on this Cheapie Man. Still, Moon is so sweet to watch and I love hearing her stories about home.
It's God's fruit! The spiky skin and the smell just to protect the precious golden flesh inside. Once you hooked on it. There is no taste can replace it.
In the Greek language we also use the term "can you hear the smell." When translated in english it sounds weird but when said in Greek it sounds correct. So she is actually translating it correctly into English from her language but it sounds incorrect to us.
She is so loveable like i could hang out with her any day! Even with her english i can still make out what she is saying. Thanks Moon for being a real friend you are awesome i love all your vids.
A sweet experience she had as a child with her mother.. I bet it feels good to have a loving supportive family.. hope everyone reading this is well in these crazy times...
Durian is a common fruit in the Philippines. The City of Davao in Mindanao had the biggest plantation of Durian. We have durian jelly for sandwiches, durian candies and etc. It is no big deal in the Philippines. It is one of the most affordable specially if it is the season to bear fruit. 😋😋
It’s hilarious how she’s telling tiko to come closer and look the smell, and tiko just zooms in… doesn’t dare go close from the smell. 🤣🤣😂🤣 stinky fruit.
I've tried Durian when I was in Thailand, it has an unpleasant smell but it does taste very nice and sweet and creamy, it was said to be the King's fruit in Thailand. I actually love the taste of Durian and I'm from Australia.
Being vietnamese myself, when Moontellthat says they close the door it is all too familiar with me. Vietnamese people always coming in when they smell something good going on and they incite others so they don’t look bad for coming alone.
Look how happy she is to eat her Durian. Shes like a child. Tiko don't change her. Most of all, don't change her heart. Give her a baby, you guys will be beyond joyous. What you happiness is now, will be increased 10 fold.
Oohhh Moon........I absolutely love you!!!! I just subscribed to your channel! I saw you guys on tiktok and was hoping you'd have a RUclips channel, and thank God you do. I have been binge watching and can not get enough lol you and your cheapie man are so sweet and dam funny
Since I saw u guys in tiktok I go find u guys in you tube and now all ur videos I'm watching whole day..it's good to watched now since its lock down here in Malaysia.. take care guys..vlog more..I love when u moon was teasing with ur tico hehehe
Having frozen and straight out of the shell are TOTALLY different. TRUST me, you don't want to eat it straight out of the shell, it literally taste and smells like a rotten onion!!!🤮🤢
Flies come to it fast, so it definitely has that scent marker. It's actually lightly sweet and creamy, sort of like custard. But it may be genetic how sensitive people are to that scent element. It may be better as an ingredient for most people to have less concentrated scent.
I have been to Asia many times but unfortunately I never had the chance to try Durian. However, I have heard many people talk about how bad the smell of it is. You brought up a great point about genetics. This may be true why some people can’t eat it and are so sensitive to the smell. It is similar to how some people can’t eat Cilantro because it tastes like soap to them. Watching Moon eat it and the way the taste and texture has been described in the comments sounds very similar to Paw Paw fruit. Paw Paw trees grow all over the Southern U.S. but they are primarily found in my home state of Kentucky. Paw Paw’s too are lightly sweet and have a creaminess in texture.😊
This was an awesome video, yeah ok so I'm late to the party. This brought me back 11 years when I was in Singapore for 3 weeks on business. Colleagues introduced me to durian. Pungent does not describe the smell but in all honesty if you can get past that the taste is pretty good. I'd eat it again.
It actually smells like vomit (seriously) but it tastes like custard. It’s really good but you have to get rid of the outside before you eat it. Put in the garbage and take outside!
Never seen that fruit before. It looks very similar to a fruit we eat in Jamaica. Love her story about it being too expensive for them to buy in her country. She is so authentic and sweet. So enjoy this episode.
It’s sad because. It really not expensive but Vietnam it would be just crazy. My wife who from Danang Vietnam always tells me of crazy childhood and sad stories. Love these vids
Tiko, you really should try the durian. Maybe twice or three times. It’s weird at first but when it “clicks,” it really clicks, and then you’ll be an addict!
Tried Durian as a child, I vaguely remember the smell and taste, not for me, but my mum liked it. Recently found out that Orangutans love it, watching on a Orangutan rescue show.
I love Asian foods. Vietnamese and others food. Kimchi is my favorite. Being a military brat a lot of military men would marry. Asian women and I went to DOT School ( army school ) so my friends parents be mixed or be Asian. I loved growing up in the military that was a whole lot of learning culture there. I loved my life and friends and people I meet and foods I ate and still eat today. So I would eat that fruit. Great experiences is all I can say best times of my life. World travels too.
Hello moon does the duran taste like jackfruit, and do y'all eat spicy food , reason i ask is because i see moon eat crawfish and just wondering if y'all ever had any from Louisiana, this is where i am from and we add alot of spices to it.
Only native people would love it...n i m one of them love it so much since the fruit has season, even would eating it as breakfast...n yes strong smell on the first greeting... after 3rd time i wouldn't skip the chance to eat them
I appreciate Mai enjoys durian and am happy she is enjoying her fruit. I smelled durian once, and I almost vomited, horrible smell, I had to triple seal bag it in the garbage, and it took hours to get that smell out of the house and my nose. OMG never again. I guess that means more durian for you guys! Enjoy!
Tiko...that is the best tasting fruit ive ever had..period...n we had lots of exotic fruit...among them....durian is super special...but it is true..if u eat durian..avoid coke or carbonated drinks..n panadol....the fruit tends to make ur blood sugar spikes n causes dizzyness..but....some people does not get affected by it..i don't...but most people did...regardless..try to enjoy it..it is sweet...its thick...n so good.....in terms of smell..not that bad...it smells better than rotten fish, dead animals though...n that is subjective of course...for me...i love the sweet scent of durian..it is unique...
Moon is very loving and genuine. She doesn’t take any crap either. She may not have the best English, but she speaks from her heart.
Moon can bring a smile to everyone. My family enjoys watching “Moon Tell That”
I love LOVE when she tells us about her home and what it was like living there. Like how she said durian was very expensive and when they could afford it she and her mom would lock the door and eat it in their house so people wouldn’t come asking.
exactly,you got it

It’s unique it’s spells horrible taste good but it’s the texture that gets everyone My wife is from Danang Vietnam and she eats that and jack fruit
It's called the King of Fruits. Mangosteen is called the Queen of Fruits. You may want to check out the nutritional value.
It's God's fruit! The spiky skin and the smell just to protect the precious golden flesh inside. Once you hooked on it. There is no taste can replace it.
I couldn't, the smell would make me pass out.
In the Greek language we also use the term "can you hear the smell." When translated in english it sounds weird but when said in Greek it sounds correct. So she is actually translating it correctly into English from her language but it sounds incorrect to us.
i have actually began to use that phrase because it just makes sense to me now
She is so loveable like i could hang out with her any day! Even with her english i can still make out what she is saying. Thanks Moon for being a real friend you are awesome i love all your vids.

@@Westsideauditor1469 yeah you can definitely smell the stalls in the market that were selling it from 20 metres away :D
@@Westsideauditor1469 Its actually best to eat them fresh from the shell. It might smell really strong but trust me they taste best when you do it

I think for westerners it’s just that it’s so different than anything they’ve had before. It’s definitely a powerful smell. But I love it.

She is so awesome. ‘Tomorrow I will diet’ .
“Smells like hell. Tastes like heaven.” says my Malaysian friend.
That's good quality durian. In my home country, they ferment these to make 'tempoyak', a type of durian paste you could fry or eat with rice.
Tico- can you tell us what it smells like?
Love you both- makes me so happy to watch!
1:48 Nice ASMR technique. Love Tiko and Moon
