    Thanks for viewing this video, in which I share my thoughts on Ghostech strike indicators. Recently finding a spot in my vest, this new indicator is unique in that it lands much softer than other systems, yet also has the ability to hold heavier flies up in the water. In his video, I take time to go over the system, share my favorite colors, then explain situations in which I use Ghostech; enjoy!

      Very cool, Mario, and be sure to lmk how you like them after you've fished with them a few ties. I've been using them for about six months, hence felt it was time to share my experiences with others. Tim www.troutandfeather.com

    Great video. I will definitely try these. Excellent point about the value of indicators when fishing a long cast. I tend to avoid indicators, since I prefer to nymph by feel rather than sight, but that is one scenario in which the indicator is the only way to go. I have a question about the actual indicating function of these indicators. One thing I like about the NZ system and others that have a vertical stick-like structure is that the angle gives you feedback about where your fly is relative to the indicator. Obviously, these will not do that. What I found interesting is the manufacturer's claim that the shape of these can show subtler hits by their rotation. Is something you noticed when you fished them?

      Thanks for the comments, David, and I appreciate your thoughts. Great point regarding the angle of the NZ system (another one I really love!), and these definitely pick up some subtle takes. In my opinion, I believe the NZ system is ideal for that soft water and spooky fish, and these are the next tier up, especially at distance or with heavier flies. I notice takes with these based on hesitation more so than anything else; does that make sense? Simply put, during the drift, they will act different...and set the hook! ;-) After trying them out, be sure to stop back and share any additional thoughts on them. Thanks again! Air-lock. Think they come out of Europe but office and warehouse here. Park 3 $7.99 but buy at local fly shops for $2 and can pick your colors.

      Hi John, and that's another option; here's a link with various sizes and #'s: amzn.to/38F7X8I The GHOSTech are favorite option, too, as they land stealthy in the water. Have you tried them yet? Tim www.troutandfeather.com

    Tim - do you have to loosen, then re-tighten, the nut in order to change depth with these ?

    • @TimCammisa
      @TimCammisa  3 года назад

      Hi Brian, and it depends on your initial tension. In general, I like to tighten and keep them near my tippet ring. If I ever have to change their location, I loosen the nut. Unlike some others, the nut doesn't need to be removed. If you have more questions, don't hesitate to ask: tcammisa@gmail.com Thanks! Tim

    Try the new foam air lock indicator, big improvement. Cast better land softer.

      @@TimCammisa I think he was speaking to the new foam Airlock Indicators, sold by Rajeff Sports. They’re awesome! They maintain the circular shape for ease of seeing a fish take, cast incredibly easier than flower indicators, while as John said they land incredibly soft for the amount of buoyancy they hold.
