The thing that is so amazing about the first guy is how beautifully he performs the routine. It's completely silent but it tells an intriguing story. His movements are artful and flowing. I'm sure there are many parts of it that some can take apart on how he does it, but that's not the point. The point is the art itself. I think Ricky Jay would have appreciated that routine for the artfulness which it was.
That's what's so cool about it. Like the tricks are all neat on their own, but he makes a whole performance and story out of it. It's a great way to get the audience engaged and thinking "what's going to happen next?"
I think the First Magician told a story of how a man discovers magic, uses it for entertainment and to spread joy and awe, then uses his skills for money and wealth, leaving him with eventually no more money and no more magic. I dunno maybe I'm just overthinking it but it was an amazing act.
His AGT audition (first show of 2019) was even better as he did changing of the back color of the card with the string so you could see how the back changed color as he slowly slid it under the string and he even showed the card mid change.
It was wonder woman's lasso he colored the blue cards red and the lasso kept revealing the cards true color. I bet wonder woman is pissed that he has her lasso 😆
I was following the first few bits with dealing seconds, the deck switch and the clothes switch, the double lifts, then with the shenanigans with the ribbon I was like "ok I don't know how exactly he did all of that, I guess I'll rewatch later to work out the details" and then he pulled out the coins and I just lost all hope of figuring this out. @cat owner @JME You're not meant to figure it out as a layman, that's the whole point of it being entertaining! You get a thumbs up just for finding this absolutely astonishing artist for us. Just when you think you scene it all then someone else comes along and blows my mind. Hats off to the guy in the first act.
The execution of Chien's act is my favorite "style" of performing magic: the kind where the magician acts as amazed as the audience by what's happening. Like how the act opens with "Ooooo, a shiny box? Hmmm, wonder what's inside? Lets see..." As Chris said: "He's the most intrigued by random inanimate objects that I've ever seen." To me this kind of performance makes the magic feel "more alive", like literally anyone sitting in that seat could do this because the magic is in the items, not in the magician. The magician is just along for the ride like everyone else, and acts just as amazed as everyone else when something amazing happens.
Is it just me or did anyone find Eric’s performance kind of like a story about how many magicians started out because of their curiosity and passion for magic but then it slowly became greed for wealth and money. I also think this was portrayed beautifully and extremely well done!
That stress illusion is based on the fact that under stress, your eyes tend to dart around, moving more and taking in more information, similar to frames per second. The illusion itself is more pronounced as you move your eyes across it, so theoretically if you are more stressed, the effect will be more pronounced. For the illusion at 7:38 to 8:00. What the illusion does is cause the image to be in motion as you focus on different parts of the image. so basically to get it to "stop moving" you just literally don't change your center of focus
man i am a David Blaine fan. especially when he first came out. but this guy is making David's older tricks look tame and out dated. unbelievable!!!! and next level love it!
I think that picture was made to play on how your eyes naturally jump back and forth and aren't still ever. More calm = smaller eye movements, anxious = larger eye movements. You can kinda test this out by looking away and back at the image multiple times to see the illusion of movement.
He is using combination of rather impressive skill and really clever gimmicks, it is combination of methods rather than single one that is why it is so deceptive.
@@ycct_oot It's a FISM act you moron, there can't be any editing. I guess anyone who shows they have a talent isn't really doing what they show they are. Get good at something.

1) when he does the dress changing trick if u put ur video on slow motion you can clearly see him removing his top layer of the shirt. 2) when he makes the cards disappear if u watch clearly you can see him moving the cards towards him to make it fall down
In the art of entertaining, many a skilled Asian magician is as mustard only. Paul Daniels said showing a trick with two matches: You may not like it a lot - but you will like it. If not anything else up hos sleeve, he held everybody i The Palm of hos hands. That's the art.
6:33 at least actually has two cuts in the video if you go frame by frame where you can see artefacts if you focus on him and his movement and not the cards. Doesn't take away from the magic in my opinion, still really good.
@@facepalmjesus1608 it is. I am pretty sure the white squares are there the whole time but they can be folded and unfolded with some kind of mechanism from under the table, with his foot or something.
@@TheLoucM are you sure? I just watched both parts at 25% speed and they literally just appear/ vanish, no movement at all, just disappeared from one frame to the next. @@StruffyTheClown I guess it just happens between 2 frames. Its a contest of live magic, it would make no sense to edit the video. Some people say they edit the video so people dont see the trick easily but there are many other tricks that are easily seen at .25.

For the illusion at 7:38 to 8:00. What the illusion does is cause the image to be in motion as you focus on different parts of the image. so basically to get it to "stop moving" you just literally don't change your center of focus
Did the same act on AGT this seasons first episode.
8:52 that's just insane 🙄
thank you
@@Kaiji700M how did you do it?
Huh it's perfectly still for me. Not lying. And I definitely do not feel stressed
Didn't move for me either and I'm stressed
4:59 lol "for those of you asking... I have no clue" hahaa
man i am a David Blaine fan. especially when he first came out. but this guy is making David's older tricks look tame and out dated. unbelievable!!!! and next level love it!
The image didn't move for me. I'll check back later when my anxiety kicks in?
At 2:14. I saw that ( look at the deck of cards he's holding) xd
Those are cards
You can clearly see his shirt get ripped under table. The others no idea.
I honestly loved the plot of the trick. It was depicting a story and it did it masterfully.
This routine made him a star! Chris man you need to do one of these shows bro! You’ll win like hell
3:02 There was two cards and he flicked one card into his vest.
The image for me was really still... Guess your videos relax me 🤷♀️
I am watching this clip the 5th time and it still fools me! Nice video👍
There is allways an asian who is better than you:)
I think that picture was made to play on how your eyes naturally jump back and forth and aren't still ever. More calm = smaller eye movements, anxious = larger eye movements. You can kinda test this out by looking away and back at the image multiple times to see the illusion of movement.
That first magic act was magic art. It's one of those things where you don't question how it's done, you just sit back and enjoy it for what it is.
He is using combination of rather impressive skill and really clever gimmicks, it is combination of methods rather than single one that is why it is so deceptive.
Very impressive skill*
And also nice video editing
@@ycct_oot It's a FISM act you moron, there can't be any editing. I guess anyone who shows they have a talent isn't really doing what they show they are. Get good at something.
Your explanation might of well have said he is using different spells with his magic which is why it is deceptive.
I get it, because Ramsay hates when people talk about magic like this.
isee
what you
did
ha
a
ha
That guy disappeared then a truck exploded.... Wtf
I want super powers too 😔
Now tell him to do it on a different color mat
I have never been able to decipher a magic trick just by watching, but I was able to descipher some of these awesome tricks by watching them, and it was cool
1) when he does the dress changing trick if u put ur video on slow motion you can clearly see him removing his top layer of the shirt.
2) when he makes the cards disappear if u watch clearly you can see him moving the cards towards him to make it fall down

nice vid!
2:36 shirt change. He pulls his shirt to reveal the new one using his left hand. Watch closely. Slow it down
Thank you captain obvious
Who's here after watching the AGT Audition video ??
The sleights were fantastic! But...I just wanna add...that image was perfectly still for me. I calm AF bros. Thanks for another great one CR! 🤘
These Asian magicians take close up to another level ,just amazing
Wait, are you saying real wizard exist?
Roses are red 🌹
ketchup is too 🥫
there‘s always an Asian 😑
who‘s better than you 👉
In the art of entertaining, many a skilled Asian magician is as mustard only.
Paul Daniels said showing a trick with two matches: You may not like it a lot - but you will like it.
If not anything else up hos sleeve, he held everybody i The Palm of hos hands.
That's the art.
this is my second time watching this video, the visiual trick in this video was moving the first time i saw it and now it was standing still.
7:55 lol legit can’t see it moving. Sitting on the toilet watching I guess I’m calm 😂
FACTS 🤣😂🤣😂
Had the pleasure of watching Chien perform that trick live with the illusionists and it's even crazier like that, truly masterful.
wtf at 0:58 and 6:33? howwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww? this is NOT sleight of hand!
6:33 at least actually has two cuts in the video if you go frame by frame where you can see artefacts if you focus on him and his movement and not the cards. Doesn't take away from the magic in my opinion, still really good.
@@kaaazzi3365 wait....isnt live performace?
@@facepalmjesus1608 it is. I am pretty sure the white squares are there the whole time but they can be folded and unfolded with some kind of mechanism from under the table, with his foot or something.
@@TheLoucM are you sure? I just watched both parts at 25% speed and they literally just appear/ vanish, no movement at all, just disappeared from one frame to the next. At first I thought they might be a projection from a beamer or something above him, but that's not it either.. Either the table itself can somehow project them or there are cuts
@@StruffyTheClown I guess it just happens between 2 frames. Its a contest of live magic, it would make no sense to edit the video. Some people say they edit the video so people dont see the trick easily but there are many other tricks that are easily seen at .25.
DUDE!!! please for the love of god put you're camera box to the side more so you're not cutting off half the video you're watching, there's a massive girt black panel left and right and you are dangling over both. you do it in all you're videos. Thank you.
i watch this video every so often and am blown away evry time i watch it. like wtf this dude is an actual wizard
Ive seen the illusion from the Japanese artist so many times and it has never moved for me once
7:50: Yes. Just try to take a deep breath while you're looking at it, then go back to not being the calmest you can, and you'll immediately see the difference.
Chris, I've had a drink and am chill rn, and that optical illusion that's supposed to look like it's moving is completely still.
