@@landoncbradford Facts. It's an absolutely ridiculous movie, but there's something strangely compelling about it's ludicrous attitude. It's the Pacific Rim of heist movies.
He writes his own movie, does his own stunts, does his own magic wouldn't be surprised if he makes a movie where he does everything from acting to shooting it 😂
I'm actually surprised you guys missed it, but at 8:10 for the Now You See Me 2 clip, you can see Woody Harrelson fake a cough, pick something up with his lip which is presumably a suction cup, magnet, or adhesive patch attached to the string, and plant it on the card. You can see the black mark appear a bit away from the index label of the card. It's the ace of spades, so you know that there should be no other marking on the card except for the spade design and the two index labels on the corners. Give it another look-see and you'll notice it now. I'm sure that the string trick probably still couldn't work, even in a straight line like the arms would present. The biggest problem, in my opinion, is whether the string would be able to remain stuck to the card under that level of pulling force. Anywayyy, great video guys. Loved it.
In case you're curious it's magic wax. Real stuff, and pretty awesome stuff to play with a dirt cheap. It's sticky wax that leaves no residue and is typically clear or "skin tone" to blend in with stuff. It's for sticking cards together, attaching magic thread, and that kinda stuff.
The only other reason I would think it wouldn’t work is that he would have had to have that string set up in that way ahead of time to even use it. Maybe he did but to have string that tight in that manner just waiting to be used doesn’t seem very plausible. Not impossible I guess.
The setup is possible, the execution is far-fetched, to say the least. The card would have to be pulled perfectly into his caff, past Woody's shoulder blades, and through both his sleeves without getting twisted or hung up on any folds of material, seams, body parts or anything else while only attached at 1 spot with an adhesive that comes off fairly easy; all the while being smooth and fast enough to whip over to Jesse's hand so it can be caught between his fingers... It's a mouthful I know... sorry
What I personally really like about the Now You See Me 2 one is the way the woman (can’t remember the name) uses social norms and social rules. The way she reacts to the guard trying to check her bra is a really good way of getting the guards to back off a bit and the way she passes the card to the guard is easily brushed off as “she’s still mad about the bra thing”. It’s really well done; enforce a boundary, thus making the guard awkward, then doing the “eyes up here” to follow up with that, implying her anger and also making her behaviour here have a clear pattern, and ending with the “how do you like it” which is, as I mentioned, easily brushed off and a continuation of the eyes part. It’s an amazing use of gender norms and femininity.
And its even more well done as the guards are of different culture, so they wouldnt know wether she's acting suspicious, or if she's gender roling from her own culture
It's nice to know that the parts of the Now You See Me 2 slight of hand stuff was clarified. I thought the bit where he caught it with his mouth wasn't possible, some parts I knew were, but knowing a large majority of the slight of hand was is nice to know!

I loved the lil tidbits of info that you guys would add (not strictly just reviewing & judging or loving/hating on the content that you showed) like, I didn’t know Neil Patrick Harris REALLY knows magic! (Same w/ Tom Cruise). Or, how it was pointed out that, when actors actually DO the magic tricks on-screen, they are facing the challenge of, NOT ONLY pulling off the trick, legitimately, & making other true magicians proud of their performance but, also, that they are doing this all, WHILE acting out their lines, simultaneously. The Riverdale thing, WELLLLLLLL, I get why it was thrown into THIS deck. 😅 (sorry!) 🤷 It was cool to find out that it was common, on film, that real magicians get hired to play the hands 🙌 of actors~
I can’t wait to look up the video of WES & his rendition of the card-hiding scene from ‘NOW YOU SEE ME 2’! Thank you guys very, VERY MUCH for this video! Dave Franco is seemingly a LEGIT actor who’s studied/studies his craft for the occasion of what ever he’s appearing in. I hope that he never winds up getting gobbled up & overly-neglected by THE INDUSTRY.
THANX FOR ALL YOU’RE HARD WORK & IDEAS… NIPPLE FINGERS! 🃏🙊🙉🙈
