I thought I wanted a big bold glamorous wedding...until I realized I love my fiance more than I do the idea of weddings. Courthouse weddings are a wonderful idea!
Weddings are really overpriced in my opinion and I really want my future wedding to be intimate and special without breaking the bank. I want to find a nice inexpensive dress go to the courthouse to get married. After than a nice private dinner and then off to packing our bags to do a destination vacation. I don’t see the need to feed and entertain people who most likely are only coming for the free food and entertainment
YES BABY GIRL! This is our plan after having a huge argument with my family and it’s just seeming so much easier and less stressful. Why spend the money on feeding and entertaining others when you can spend it on your future and/or an amazing honey moon!!! Bless you and hoping everything goes well with your plans

Edit: mine went well, there were three other people in the court room and they married all of us at the same time but it was still easy and I honestly didn't have as much anxiety because there were other couples with us and it made for a good audience all the families were there so it felt like a big wedding in the pictures lol

I'm actually getting married within the next two weeks at the courthouse, we originally had a wedding ceremony planned but because of covid in my state we're just doing a small one. I'm actually going to be wearing elf ears, have flowers glued to my face and be wearing fairy wings because I wanted to look like a fairy queen on my day

Hello there! First of all you are so lovely person! We married 1th of August 2020 during this pandemic - and covid-19 or not our wedding plans are very untraditional: we wanted a beautiful historic art centre venue and spend a day with our nearest ones (= max. total 30 persons). I can totally agree with you in that being just the way who you and your spouse are is essential. That was and is the most important thing in wedding for us. At our ceremony there was just 2 witnesses who was my parents (ofc we invited both set of parents but too long of a journey for just a couple of minutes ceremony and being risk group stopped them to be there), notary and me & my man. My dad filmed that moment with our GoPro camera and we shared that with our guests via Drive-link in that same day. I wore violet gown with some black and nude aka my unorthodox wedding gown, which I'm planning to wear 2 another times when our 2 times postponed wedding going to turn into a tiny house party x2 with our friends and family. And because I need to change something more practical (our home is so small) I have second dress too: black knee lenght one with meadow flower applications. Our 2 tiny house party are going to be almost like the actual postponed wedding: same decorations (hints of gold and no traditional wedding decor pieces), eating street style food and little sweet and salty treats & relaxing with our loved ones and celebrating life and love. In Wisconsin you need 2 witnesses. My boyfriend of almost 10 years and I are planning to get married through the court house in January. We are planning on only having our moms and 2 witnesses with us. Then planning a nice little dinner of about 10 of us for after. 🥰 We aren't even planning on posting about it on social media or taking any more people. We want to save those congratulations and excitement for our big destination wedding in a couple of years.

That's beautiful, the Bible highlighted favorite scriptures, we always anointed our house wherever we move, I've seen a wedding with the bridesmaids came down with brocades and they also had small Bibles with them and this one over here I don't see her on RUclips anymore but they put them together and blindfolded them and the parents and the bridesmaids to the all prayed over them for they didn't want to go to strip clubs or anything the day before their wedding they prayed and fast for the future together, I think that's beautiful what you said was beautiful this is the first time I seen you I love looking at that printer rest and and I like watching weddings

The fiance and I are planning on doing a steampunk theme for our courthouse wedding! Both wearing top hats and our color is lilac, so not very traditional but we're not very traditional people haha, I think one of these days we'll do a big ceremony like you did but for now we're happy with having something small. In California because of covid we can't bring anyone inside and we can't remove our masks to kiss during the ceremony. We have a few friends who will be waiting outside to see our first kiss as a married couple.

That's a great question! In my town, we would ho to the county clerk. So, I'm not sure if personal vows are necessary.
We are going tomorrow to apply! We both know we didn’t want to go the traditional route.
How ahead of time do I have to start making preparations if I am getting married 01/21/22?
Ooo good question. I would say the sooner the better honestly *especially* if you have a few DIY projects or doing everything on a budget. I started planning about a year ahead of the wedding which allowed me to spend $50-$100 a month for decor instead of $1,200 all at once.

We are getting married by a judge on March 23,2023 and we are just having it be us and the judge my significant other wants it to be that way all of my family have passed away this is my 2nd marriage and his first the first time I did the big church wedding and it wasnt what I wanted this time I'm wearing a black one piece pantsuit and cute shoes doing my hair and makeup and he is wearing a nice shirt and pair of jeans it doesn't matter to us what we wear it's going to be amazing because I found my soulmate and best friend and I'm excited to finally say I do .
