Come through with the back to back posts! My husband and I got married at a courthouse and then had a destination wedding in Aruba. We did it because we needed to be married in the U.S. anyway in order for it to all be legalized but we also wanted to have an intimate celebration with our family and closest friends. The best way to guarantee that our wedding remain small and intimate was to leave the country LOL. It was so beautiful and so much fun and we don't regret how we did it one bit!
Mark 10:9: “Therefore what God has joined together, let no one separate." There are scriptures that tell how a man should love his wife and some on marriage and divorce. Very few on ceremonies of weddings, but like the verse says what God has joined together. He has already joined those two people is just the formality of us to it visually in front a few witnesses or as many as a hundred to make it humanly official. Using someone who is ordained by God with the power by Him and the state to officially grant this event is of no consequence on the size of your wallet of either family to show how much they love their child in this time of of their lives. What matters is the bond that each of those persons heart toward God and the love they hold for Him to bring those people together. It should not be self centered. Its devine ordained and worrying about many guests that should invite or center pieces they should use are just worldly nonsense.
I agree, if the person is right for you and you have peace, then go for it! But for me, I wouldn’t get away with having a courthouse wedding knowing I am the only female for my mom and she has been looking forward to that day forever.
OMGEEE I was in Jada's Wonder Woman 2.0 and then I followed you on social media and I RANDOMLY came across this video! I love you guys. And Amanda everytime I listen to you speak its like you're talking to me and speaking over my life 💚 God Bless

Your family and friends feelings shouldn't have anything to do with how you choose to celebrate your marriage. If they're real friends then they should be happy that you're happy. I personally believe the lavish big weddings are seriously the 13year old girl inside the bride is living out her fantasy for the "party" about her day. It's a chance to mimic what the Royal Kingdoms did back in the day for 'their' culture. Now if the money is in the wallets, and the bride and groom want to do it, sure, fine, enjoy yourselves. But in my own opinion you can pay thousands of less dollars at a courthouse for the same piece of paper at the end of the day. Invite 5 or 10 people who actually give a damn about your union, then head out to party or dinner that night. Honeymoon soon after wherever the vacation spot is planned. Why invite 300 people who you never heard from in decades, and they never bother to keep in touch with you to come eat your food, then you'll never hear from them again?? Lol 😅
I’ve waited almost 8 months and we’ve been told by an elder, a stranger who was a sister in Christ who was a prophet & I’m SICK of the devil trying to make me go back on what GOD SAID TO DO. I prayed hard about the date and God revealed it to me today. This video was great because I know that I know that I know God joined us together. He was ready two months after we started dating but I wasn’t! Even though GOD told me he was my husband 6 months before we even started dating! Now I’m finally surrendering and we’re turning in our papers today. Hoping to be married by next week! GOD BLESS YOU TWO!
I have a question is this Christian thinking only? My husband and I are both catholic and got married by court we had a small ceremony with a few family and friends. But when we started going to church as a married couple the priest had pulled us aside before Mass and told us we were living in sin because we weren’t married in the church and that being married in the church you get gods everlasting love over your marriage.
Yes my husband and I were shocked and then the priest had us take marriage classes within the Catholic Church and wants us to have a church wedding even if it’s just us two no family
Ma’am the Catholic Church in its inception, was devious. The Catholic Church does not have any say in this matter. Having to confess to a priest to absolve folks of their sins is quite unbiblical but they won’t begin to interrogate their own doctrinal malarkey. I would seek proper counsel from people who really serve God in Spirit and in truth… not your Catholic priest. I pray they repent for blindly following false doctrines. I am in agreement with Amanda and her husband’s assessment of this topic. May God bless everyone with their decisions and remember to invite the Holy Spirit into all things 🎉🎉🎉

Wait? ... if cost is an issue why would you fly everyone out to Mexico afterwards 😂
that was just an example
Cos it would only cost a little over 2k for the couple and all guests will pay for their own compared to a wedding that’s 10k +

Wow that’s pretty hurtful .
