    Thank you so much for posting this as lam a born and raised Des Moines resident and to see 235 as it used to be and Des Moines 21 years ago it is so cool to see this but next time better music lol

    Wow! Almost all of Des Moines has certainly changed since this video was recorded. I feel like I've gone back in time. Thanks for sharing.

    Omg thanks for posting! I didn’t start coming to Des Moines on a daily basis until 2007, and by that time, gentrification was well on its way! Des Moines was a hole in the 80s and 90s. Now, it is where I call home, and are proud to be from here!

      I agree, this Des Moines felt a lot more scarier and rust belt like. I'm glad they turned most of it around. There's still some bad areas but not as much.

      Man this is how I remember it as a kid and everything south of downtown being a rundown industrial area and people just can’t picture it

    The residential alleys looked shabby back in 1998, like on 28th Street just north of McVicar Freeway. Hope the city took care of that. Some folks have garages back there.
