I grew up in Des Moines and still live here on the south side as this video starts out on Sw 9th which l drive almost daily!!! I think for the small size of Des Moines we have an amazing skyline!!!
@@Quiet1Rich I just moved to Ottumwa Iowa do u know if this city is affordable? I chose to move here at the last minute and I'm dealing right now with unemployment
@@Quiet1Rich Des Moines is cleaner as compared to Chicago and Portland where I lived earlier in the year. I like the resources for the homeless here also
@@Quiet1Rich do u live in Des Moines? I'm in a homeless shelter I really need help. But I'm not begging just letting u know I'm new here I have been homeless all this yr
By the looks of the shadows I would say he is there in a Sunday early morning..like 8ish plus des moines isn't a tall stacked on top itself city...it's super wide so most people wouldn't be in downtown this time of day unless there was something going on..now there has been more condos and apartments popping up on the outskirts of downtown with some shopping and restaurants so at some point it will be shitty down there on the weekends too..lololol
Ong. I live in Portland Oregon and the first thing I noticed is that I don’t see tents or trash everywhere. I’m originally from the Midwest and this makes me miss it and want to move back. 😢
Why are allmost all big cities in the US sooo booring??? I prefer the european style with a living downtown, more like it it is in smaller towns in USA.
Downtown is a great place to go if you're an alcoholic because that's all there is to do down here drinking, puking and rummaging through the trash, that's it,oh! and drink coffee , eat and drink beer and puke and sometimes shit in an alley but that's it. "Walla"
Your comment is somewhat hard to read but I understand. Unfortunately Downtown IA does not really cater to anything else but drinking booze and being an idiot. Court Avenue now has barricades each weekend because there was multiple shootings in a row, a few months ago. They even frisk you as well.
@@softbatch1 Lots of cover bands on the weekends they're kind of puke though but still good to drink too after you're drunk you can puke to about anything downtown here

Des Moines is a cool place. I really like the pedestrian bridge.
Thanks for watching!
hanks for sharing this amazing driving
Just moved here from Chicago. There's not much to do here. I don't drink, so it's really bad. I think I'm going to go back to Chicago.
I grew up there and I miss it. Thanks for taking me back!
I use to live in Waterloo and have been to Des Moines several times. There's just something about Iowa that's unique from all the other states.
Nice Clean City. I Almost Want To Move There.
I am going to move there
I lived here from 1971-77. Your drive took me back to my childhood. Thank you!
Thanks for watching!

Why does it look like a ghost town? lol
Because it is! Lol

i live in denver, colorado. just like portland.
Why there are no pedestrians?
Where are Sam's, Wal-Marts and Target's. My Favorite DOLLAR Tree makes me Hollar and Des Moines Hometown Grocery?
They are not in downtown but all over Des Moines and suburbs.
Drive through the bad areas like the north side and river bend
I personally like Milwaukee!!
Se párese el tráfico al de Los Ángeles
¡Gracias por verlo!

Milwaukee isn't boring and lots of people living in downtown or close by areas.
Wtf almost all big cities? Los Angeles, San Francisco, San Diego, Las Vegas, Seattle. Boring??? You’re funny.

How's the local music scene? Any good bands at these places to drink and puke? Drinking and puking needs a soundtrack!
