  • Hear about The Great Flood of 1993 which occurred in the American Midwest, from April to October 1993. The flood was among the most costly and devastating to ever occur in the United States, with $15 billion in damages. The city of Des Moines fell victim to the swelling waters of the Des Moines and Raccoon Rivers that summer. The Raccoon River would eventually breach its banks and overtake the Des Moines Water Works treatment facility, leaving the Des Moines residents without drinking water for two weeks. Kevin Cooney, a reporter for KCCI in Des Moines, will talk about the events that summer and the impact the flood had on Des Moines and its residents.

Kevin Cooney is a pretty chill dude. He retired years ago, but he and the weatherman from KCCI used to come into my gas station job regularly and have down to Earth conversations. KCCI is now part of a media conglomerate, but the Cooney's were a powerhouse news couple.

The only lucky break was that the Saylorville Dam did not break. Texas and Oklahoma needed that rain and water.

    Those shots of Mississippi remind me of an evil time and 😈 🦹‍♀️ 👿 🖤 😈 🦹‍♂️ 👿 🖤 😈 🦹‍♂️ 👿 place.
Now the river is drying up...Perhaps another symptom of wickedness.

Tell me at what point in the video you see any graffiti and I will drive there and send you a photo of a spot that no longer has graffiti. As far as the area being "ghetto", well you'll just have to come up here and see for yourself while enjoying some good old Iowan hospitality my Midwestern friend.

I think he was referring to MO and St. Louis.
