The animation that the app lets you configure is the animation for how icons on the taskbar are moved, say when you open a program that's not pinned the icon comes up on the taskbar to the right and all the icons are moved slightly to the left with an animation. That's the animation we are talking about, not the animation of opening apps.
You should mention that the new Notepad is only available for Win10 build 19542 (which is an insider only) before telling people to uninstall the current Notepad.
Tip: I use "ClassicShell" a program that quickly and easily allows you to get rid of the new Windows 10 Start Menu, and instead re-vert back to the Windows 7 Start Menu (which is WAY easier to use and looks nicer in my opinion). ClassicShell also comes with other legacy Start Menu GUI options if the Windows 7 style is not to your liking! However, if you do use ClassicShell for your Start Menu, you will notice that the search bar that opens up with it is NOT the same as the new Windows 10 search box shown here in the video - therefore, instead of removing it entirely (as shown here in this video) I instead opt to keep the *search icon by itself* down there (but remove the search box itself). This way, I can get the functionality of *both* types of searches! (they differ quite a bit from one another in how they behave -- once you play around with both of them a little you will see what I mean). I've found this to be the best setup for me. Hopefully it helps one of you as well! --Fred
I always experimented a bit with those customisation features on my laptop but they often interrupted each other and I didn’t think it was solid enough to put on my main pc but your combination feels really solid and nice so I’m gonna try that. For example I didn’t knew DirectX. I tried getting a dock but you can’t really disable the taskbar and I used several methods so nice work. This helped me much and I will make good use of it when I customise my actual pc because i feel like those tweaks are way more stable than mine and fit more to windows (taskbarX). At the end I’m just gotta say I’m really glad I found this video after trying something like this a few months ago and will make good use of it
@Windows Central *Great tips!* Just for myself, I prefer: (1) Hide the taskbar completely and just hover the mouse to make it appear again. (2) I remove all the Shortcuts on the Desktop. (3) Use the *Full Screen* feature on all apps, and just F11 to make the Menu Titles appear again. (4) I use a solid or pastel-colored wallpaper (usu. sky blue, teal or faded green) -- something that's easy on the eyes.
Good job. Your slow but steady, clear and concise explanation is very good. I watched some other “ clear desktop “ videos but many content creators always have some very annoying background music, also some lack good communication skills, so that all you get is a load of “ click click click “ “ do this, do that “ but not really explaining what they are doing. So, full marks to you for this tutorial, excellent !
I'm sure you know this but you can right click on the taskbar then hover over toolbars, then click on links (make sure taskbar lock is off) The two lines can be used to drag your app icons on the taskbar to the middle or wherever you want. Right click on the taskbar again, then click on taskbar lock to lock it then all your apps will automatically centre no need for any added software.

Update: Good news! I just re-installed T-Clock and, somehow, that resulted in deactivating the app after having trouble uninstalling it. My regular clock returned, thank God, and it was easy to delete the T-Clock folders. I don't recommend this program, which did not work after three days of working, and effectively paused my clock for over an hour. This was on a brand new Windows Surface Pro 7. Tweaker beware. Phew... Thank God I'm not the only one who puts everything on the Start menu, mine's all small tiles though except for News & Weather. I hate a cluttered desktop and taskbar.
I downloaded some of these and I thought maybe this would be useful for some. - T-Clock. Now, when I download stuff from online, I scan it with VirusTotal because viruses exist. I scanned T-Clock and VBA32 came up with BScope.Backdoor.Agent. I'm unsure of the antivirus program, but still. The Community Score was up to 19 which seems good so I ignored VBA32. So either this is a false positive, or yknow I now have a virus chillin on my computer. - TaskbarX. I thought this would be cool so I googled it. It came up with the GitHub link and a Microsoft Store link, but Microsoft Store option is $1.07 and I want free, even though this really isn't that much money so if you want to pay, you do that. I scanned GitHub version, and MaxSecure came up with Trojan.Malware.300983.susgen and Sophos ML came up with Heuristic. The Community Score is at 0. This doesn't give me much of a reason to trust it, so unfortunately I'm not going to use this one. - PowerToys. I didn't feel the need for this, so I didn't download or scan it. The program when doing some research is from Microsoft, so it may be trustable, except for the fact it's from GitHub which might be sketchy. - Uninstalling Notepad and those. I only uninstalled Internet Explorer because I don't use it also. Others here in the comments say don't uninstall notepad before checking the Windows Store for the newer version so I didn't do anything with this. I use Paint occasionally, but on family's computers I have uninstalled it so that should be good. Let's also consider that I'm just a random stranger on the internet, and that this youtuber might be more trustable, but I randomly stumbled upon them today and so I'm gonna choose my way :) I don't mean to say this guy is tryna infect everyones computers with viruses, but I'd rather be safe than sorry.
False positive. Of course it comes up as a vba it's just really a script I guess. And really you don't trust a GitHub repo owned and maintained by Microsoft? But you'll use their OS???
know what? pin all necessary apps to the taskbar and change its setting to auto hide so next time when you are using an app in fullscreen you are completely immersed in it use alt+tab for switching between apps
I use SharpKeys to disable the Windows key and then use PowerToys Run mapped to 'Ctrl + Space' similar to how Spotlight Search on Mac OS is mapped to 'Command + Space'

Tsubajashi - Osu! If a program is a legacy program and there’s modern equivalent to it, use the modern one. Not maintaining the app is lazy and that company does care for its customers at all. I would rather use a program that updates their app for modern features and maintain it.
I've switched to Mac for primary stuff too because I'm tired of the inconsistencies in Win10. They need to unify a lot of stuff and freshen it up. I still have my win10 gaming PC though and I'm always following windows news to see where it's at haha
@@AaronFigFront Can't agree more. Windows app developers are so stubborn. They just won't upgrade their app for the modern Windows; meanwhile Apple app developers actively update their app to take advantage of every new update and made their apps' design looks unified. What's even more annoying is how many developers have double standards for Apple devices end everyone else, including Android. Windows on ARM has been here for a long while and most devs still just won't recompile it for ARM. I bet that those same devs are working their hardest to get their app working perfectly on ARM Mac right now. Some even later take down the modern Windows 10 version of their app and moved back to their legacy app instead of the other way around or at least keeping both.
Other than Power Toys as the only optional feature which is confirmed by Microsoft, I wouldn't add and apply anyone of other recommendations you encountered on the video. And thank you for reminding the watchers that they don't have to follow you step by step. Basically, even if you are using the high power CPU on your system, adding these extra features add more unnecessary pressure on the system and it can create malfunctioning in some cases. starts by removing the search bar but keeping Cortana... I've seen enough
Same lol
Keep watching. That's really the only dumb thing this guy did.
Well to be fair he says that's HIS personal choice and it's up to the viewer which one to put there.
Removes the most useful feature for productivity in Windows the Recents area. I don't care if it's cluttered it helps me find what I'm working on now.

Good news: Happy with PowerTools and TaskbarX so far. They do what they claim!
Thanks again for the tips. While T-Clock didn't like my computer, I enjoy the other tweaks.
After watching this video
Windows users: aww this is so cool.
Linux users: now hold my beer!
Thanks for this! I installed the TaskbarX and the PowerToys. PowerToys will come in handy in multitasking.
I love how nobody who uses Windows actually likes Windows.
The whole point of using windows is not be stuck in how someone else thinks you should be doing things on your computer.
@@debu2striker if you did not want to be stuck in how others think you should run Linux
lmao
I like Windows, but not all of them (Windows 10 is one of my favs)

Visually, the two are quite different, but there are also other under-the-hood changes that set the next generation of Windows apart from the current generation. You probably have questions about whether you should upgrade, and we have you covered with this look at all the differences between the two
Just changed from UELI to PowerToys because of the fancy zones feature. Great for Ultrawide monitors
As you probably know, you can just change the icon instead of all that
right click on your taskbar, click settings, and select "use small taskbar buttons". it makes the taskbar smaller, allows for more apps to fit in the bottom, and gives it an overall cleaner look.
I have been using TaskbarX and PowerToys for days now. But, T-Clock sounds like a great app which I didn't know about, will give it a try. And I'm glad to know that I'm not the only one who gives importance to modern icons and install alternatives of the same app just for the aesthetics lol.

If you want to save a program [not in Program Files or Program Files (x86)} then save it to "C:\Users\{useraccountname}\AppData\Roaming".
Secondly, save wallpapers to a subdirectory in C:\Windows\Web
So basically making it more like macOS? xD
But you'll use their OS???
know what? pin all necessary apps to the taskbar and change its setting to auto hide
so next time when you are using an app in fullscreen you are completely immersed in it
use alt+tab for switching between apps
You don't even need to install Windows 11 for fuck sake
I use SharpKeys to disable the Windows key and then use PowerToys Run mapped to 'Ctrl + Space' similar to how Spotlight Search on Mac OS is mapped to 'Command + Space'
Me: Enough! I’m tired of how Windows 10 is looking
Also me: *switches to Mac*
Windows central: *makes this video*
Me again: DOUCH
(side note: I don’t want to offend anybody, I did not switch to Mac for how it looks like but for the ecosystem and for work and school nedeeds like Final Cut Pro and I still use and love Windows on my desktop PC that I use for stuff that Windows handles better)
Mac OS looks way more modern than Windows 10. I wish there was a version of Windows 10 without all the legacy stuff used by enterprises.
Ananthakrishnan Thachilath the Legacy stuff isn’t only for enterprises, or used by them. Everyone of us is using some sort of legacy application or feature.
Do Not Tweak Windows 10!!
Imagine an OS so ugly that u need to add tons of tweaks to it's latest version to make it look "modern".
Ffs
Or, imagine an OS that almost everybody is perfectly happy with, so you don't hear them compaining
Well yea its true... Some like the deault OS, some not. I have a ton of software on my laptop to make it look nicer and fancy because yes, I personally find the OS ugly or "boring". I do wish windows would have rounded corners at least.
an os where older versions like 7 look better than the latest release of the os
Haven't read through all comments, so not sure if this is mentioned. If you remove Internet Explorer, you may not be able to open URLs from Outlook 2016/2019/365 anymore, no matter what your default browser is.
