The Aegis Avenger Warlock is a great all 'round ship! The EMP seems to be very effective, and it's nice to have the small bay in the back for looting purposes. Also, it has got to be one of the coolest ships, aesthetically, in Star Citizen.
It's fairly cheap in-game, so I'd highly recommend going that route ;)
