Another good video cobber brings back memories catching mackerel of Hastings beaches and old pier in my teens took granddaughter to marina saw some long toms ( your garfish) set granddaughters rod up for long toms she had great time catching them .Happy catching from AUSTRALIA Nick

Everytime I am going to catch some mackerel they are not there anymore, it's just my luck 🤣🤣🤣 I will try Eastbourne tomorrow, I will finish work at 9 am, I should be there just before 12 when the tide is at its max, I really hope I will manage to catch some using spinning gear.

Thanks mike Unfortionatly youtube has cracked down on certain things we can and cant do and live baiting on film is a no go atm however i will give it a go off cam!

@@TheEastbourneFisherman circle hook on a say a 4ft length of fluorocarbon line, with tiny swivel on the end (wich you can quickly clip onto your lure clip). Top tip …! Cut some rubber bands up into small squares/oblongs. Use these on the hook after….you’ve circle hooked through the lower jaw. This will help stop the hook from pulling out.
There is an urban myth that once mackerel have been handled by humans they lose the protective coating on their scales and will be destined to die through disease, even if they initially swim off. This is used by people to justify taking excessive numbers of mackerel from the sea. Experiments by marine fisheries scientists have involved handling mackerel to tag them and these fish have been successfully recaptured many miles from where they were originally caught, proving that mackerel which have been handled can continue to live and hunt. Hi mate, to get a further cast do I just need a heavier lure or can I add weights to the lures I already have?
25g should put u in the fish zone sometimes u don't need to cast far they will be at your feet

I remember hearing once if you touch a mackerel it dies not sure if I believe it sounds a bit crazy
